Charles does look much better than when I saw him in our last Championship season. Match experience.
-
Good thing is we have players on the bench that can change the way we play. Question is when Still uses them.
-
Fraser, Charles and Welington been probably our best players so far.
-
Close Fraser
-
Free kick at the 4th time of asking.
-
AA snapshot. Direct to keeper.
-
Our attack is 5'4. 5'8 and 5'9 and our wing backs are 5'8 and 5'7. Hopefully the signings of Downs and Quarshie show the way the club wants to do things going forward.
-
Need to ruin "the story" as the commentators keep referring to Wrexham as. Unfortunately we have an unsupported AA up front (and therein lies my issue with 3 CBs, it blunts the attack).
-
Really want Edwards to have a good season but he's having a mare against Moore so far.
-
The willingness for this club to stick with Stephens will be our downfall. When he got injured early in our promotion season and THB partnered Jan - that was when we started to get the results. I hope he has a good season - but we've had years of seeing what he can do.
-
Fuck. Baz went the right way but didn't look committed.
-
Push from Edwards but Moore made the most of it. Fair
-
Attack defo needs work. Not bad though from Saints so far, just not amazing. Wrexham look dangerous. PENALTY to Wrexham

Anyone running a sweep on how often the 'taters say the word "Hollywood"?
-
Warning signs are there. Welington looking decent. I will never like 3 CBs but you can't argue we're overloaded in that particular position and thus it is a way to go. Just need to hope Welington and Sugawara provide the width.
-
He did, very lively and should have scored. Looks like he'll be a good signing for them at this level. They've done some good business - was surprised to see they'd signed Lyndon Dykes, that one took me by surprise. But overall I definitely saw weaknesses from both sides, Brum couldn't close the game out and Ipswich were just poor, so that's promising for us.
-
Even Ricardo Fuller cost more than that. Bargain. And Celtic sold him to Rennes because the player wanted to play in one of Europe's top 5 leagues. Rennes sold him as he wasn't getting enough game time. Apparently the Championship is one of Europe's top 5 Leagues. Fancy that.

Aribo probably leaving. Relegation it is then.😄

Harsh handball but I still think a point each for these is good for their promotion chasing rivals.
-
I don't mind these two slugging it out for a point each. Both will be in the mix for a top 6 place come the end of the season which, hopefully for us, makes them our rivals and thus two points dropped for both would be a good start.

Starting to feel the murmurings of something resembling excitement. Prob'ly last until 12:32hrs tomorrow.

Ndidi had a relegation release clause of 9 million, he's about to join Besiktas. With their Goalkeeper gone too they could lose a few more yet. We might lose Dibling, Fernandes and possibly THB still but we'd still be in a pretty strong position IMO both in terms of players we have and the ability to spend money on new players when we can. (And then then there's loans). If Ipswich also get raided then even better for us.

The never reliable prediction wheel is back for a new season and today it predicts the scoreline of our first game... Screen_Recording_20250807_222031_Samsung Internet.mp4 So there you have it. Marginal one goal victory for the mighty Saints. I'll try to keep a tally on it's success this season. The wheel has decided. (That's the catchphrase)

Faes is awful. I hope he stays there and partners Vestergaard.

Final Position: Presently I think we'll finish in the play-offs but most "pundits" have us finishing 2nd and I think with the right replacements for the outgoing jewels I'll also stick my neck out and say 2nd. September post-window closure will reveal all. I will revisit this prediction then. Top Scorer (goals): I think our goals will be more spread out than relying on Adam Armstrong like last time, so I think our top scorer will hit 18 - and that will also be Armstrong. Player of the Season: Jack Stephens. Nah seriously I will go with Downes (if he's still here). But I still hope we sign an AM that gets this award. Young Player of the Season: I want to say Robinson but I think we'll put a lot of faith in Quarshie and so he gets my pick. Summary: I think our early season form will be sketchy until we finalise and integrate the new players that we will inevitably sign before the end of the month but then I think we will pick up the pace and start heading towards the top spot. Will we make it? Probably not but I still think we have the talent to get promoted one way or the other. Anything but promotion will be a failure.
