Yup, I was on Strike, but only because I was being loyal to the union that I belong to. I didn't actually agree with what we were trying to achieve. The RMT turned down, what I believe, to be a pretty good deal that LUL had presented us with, with a pay rise every year for 5 years, irrespective of inflation or deflation. I also didn't agree with a 48 hour strike. If we're going to strike, 24 hours makes exactly the same point without docking the members 2 days pay. In all honestly, I had a good two days off. I got to watch the football with beer, which is something I couldn't have done as I was on late shifts. I am considering switching to the TSSA union though, the less militant of the three unions. For all who struggled I apologise. I got flack from my sister too! I'm actually happy with my pay. Yes, we are unskilled workers and do get paid a fair bit for our jobs, but I'd actually prefer to not do shiftwork and earn 10k less. I've all but lost my social life thanks to this damn job! Irrespective of a pay rise, I'd just like to know my job is safe for the long term.

Finally we have a trophy we can win. Or perhaps not.

Brentford. Close to home and I've got a couple of Brentford supporting mates.

I doubt he'd play for us in League One. If he failed to lower his wage demands, I'd still expect to see him go back out on loan, with Saints funding part of his wages. Seems to be the only way of avoiding paying his full wages if we can't sell him,.

What's right and what's wrong for breakfast?
SNSUN replied to Master Bates's topic in The Muppet Show
Breakfast is for wimps. I never eat breakfast, just a quick cup of caffeine suffices usually. Shift work doesn't help. -
I am ITK. Strachan has already agreed to become Saints boss following Bill Gates's buy out of the club. Matt Le Tissier to become assistant boss, and a loan signing, believed to be David Beckham, has been arranged for next season. (Living in a dreammmmmmm....)

Aren't all radios in cars going to be useless anyway in 2 years after the digital switchover?
-
I hope to be going to as many games as possible next season. Hopefully this will be the best place to see the goals.

Fish and Pussys. But not fishy pussys.

didn't we try and sign Matt Richards a few years back in a joint deal with Darren Bent? How the fortunes of two footballers can differ!

I'd be gutted if he left. Willing to work hard for the team which would be key in a League One scrap. If I were manager next season, he'd quite possibly be my first choice...

In Thailand, I bet it's very easy to find some pretty, good, "in-between" men to "pull it off"! :-D

I'll take any manager that has friendly connections with Man U. Could do with a few of their kids...

Games you're definitely going to buy this year
SNSUN replied to thesaint sfc's topic in Computer Games
Just remember we will be the best team in League One when you do it this year MLG! Gillett will be the midfield lynchpin and Gobern, McLaggon and Mills will be the nuts too. :-) -
It's being launched on all existing platforms, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, xBox 360, Wii, DS, PSP and PC apparently, although the Wii and DS games have been tweaked to maximise use of the technology available.

Firday - Working. :-( Saturday - Found out earlier today I've been granted a days annual leave tomorrow, so shopping followed by drinking. Sunday - Recovery, and the first day of 2 weeks off. :-)

Seconded. The transformation into the ex-Saints XI is nearly complete. Now to flog them Rasiak, Saga, John and Skacel for exhorbitant sums. :-)

Last year, the girlfriend and I had saved up enough to stick a 10% deposit down on a place. I had close to 16k, and my missus had saved up about 5k. Then the market continued to go pants up, so much so that 10% mortgages hardly exist anymore. My parents, while financially poor, do have four properties, so when we were priced out of buying, I looked to renting, in the knowledge that one day in my life I could potentially own my own place. (Albeit inherited). I can honestly say I'm very happy as a renter. We didn't take any old crap that the lettings agent offered us, and we set our sights on a 2 bedroom cottage in good condition. Our landlord is a decent guy, willing to let us do pretty much whatever we like to the house to style it our way, as long as we finance it, and he lives in Northern Ireland so is not always in our faces. He's even said if we save up enough, he'd sell it to us for a bargain price. Not that we'd buy it, but it is a good rental. Yes, we're effectively paying mortgage payments for a place that will never be ours, but we have freedom to move if we so choose, and don't have to stump up huge bills on major house repairs. Nice.

I'd lol if we finished above them with a points deduction...
-
...and change ONE Saints-related thing only, what would you change?
-
I think the basic problem here is that seven games ago, Saints needed to win 7 games in a row!

I'm up about £60, not including my savings account. That said, I didn't include random binge drinking evenings, nor the fact that I'm determined to quit smoking in the next couple of months.
