  1. Pulis signed a 4 year contract extension.
  2. Sky Sports were being horribly cruel. Must've been a Skate trying to wind us up. :-)
  3. I already feel sorry for the lad - Saints seemingly being linked with League One marquee signings (I mean players too good for this league) and then along comes Seaborne. I hope he proves the knockers wrong and becomes a solid signing for us. He's only 22, so while he's not young young, he's still got ages left in his career to improve. I did go to the Exeter game, but didn't have him on my radar so I don't know what he's like. Good cover if nothing else. Welcome Dan.
  4. It was tongue in cheek. I'm still awake. :-D
  5. I'm off to bed. The sooner I sleep, the sooner I wake up in the morning to find out he's signed.
  6. Ward just scored for Sheffield United. :-D :EvilArgumentativeSmiley:
  7. Loan them Forecast and let them play him against us. :-D
  8. Nice quip on Radio 5live earlier, talking about the Forest/Brum game, the reporter said "It's hard to know which is the Premier League team here". Cut back to the Cov/Pimply game, they said "It's hard to know who's the Championship side here". Made me chortle anyway. Got overexcited about the Ward deal. Must never believe anything until it's be written in stone, and a chant has been made up about that players name.
  9. Excellent News if true. The Pardew link must've been a factor?
  10. Mel Brooks
  11. Tis already a build up thread... :-D
  12. Laws is the latest favourite. No compo involved either, which will probably sway Burnley. Either way, I think we'll find out about a couple of new transfers by Friday, not that I'm ITK, just a whim. The lads will be back from Spain and then Pardew will have more time.
  13. Won't need a new player profile photo, just paste over the Exeter badge. Tis the recession.
  14. I'd rather have him at right back playing, than not playing at all, growing disillusioned and being shipped out. James is a player we don't want to be losing, a real asset to the team. Every team needs a utility player, and James seems to be ours.
  15. Meh. I don't think Newcastle would've wanted the hassle of taking Lambert on loan. If they want a League One player that's not Beckford, I always though Holt at Norwich would've been the better option. Class player there...
  16. We've come on a long way since the 1-1 on the first day of the season. I remember thinking after Patterson's strike that we had a little gem of a player. How wrong I was! (Granted he's got time on his side and we've made signings since then...) This will still be a tough game, Millwall are doing well and won't lie down, but with our new strengthened defence with Fonte willing to make an impression on his new boss/fans, we could win this. I'm going with heart here and say we'll scrape a 1-0 win, though any further player signings this week could make me change my mind...
  17. I think all managers that take jobs elsewhere should have a clause in their contracts stating that they cannot take players from their old clubs for at least six months. (I expect smart clubs do this already.) Having never seen Stock play, I can only say what others say on here, and it has got me excited. If he's Donny's best player, then dropping a League makes me salivate. Fonte was one of Palaces best players, and while they're financially screwed, it shows we have the persuasion to entice players to SOuthampton. We have to hope that the new manager of Donny if also as much as a fan of Gillett as O'Driscoll was, but I figure that any new manager will want to keep his best players, which, unless the deal is already nearly done, spells bad news for us.
  18. If somebody offered me promotion to the CCC this season in exchange for Portsmouth staying up, I'd take it. I'm not concerned with them, I just want to see what's best for us. These are exciting times (for us). The only thing that's letting us down currently is League placing. The sooner we move on up, the better. (Though I'm not too concerned with the Premiership, I just wish we could be in the CCC again.)
  19. While it's not the healthiest way to look at things, the more class players we sign, the more assets we have running around the pitch if the worst were to happen again. My biggest concern of the spending (and when I say biggest, it's not big at all but bigger than the others) is that we could stump the development of the academy players. In the Premiership the youth rarely got a look in, with more players being signed, we could be seeing the last youth players in the first team as being Lallana and James.
  20. A Palace-supporting mate of mine told me that Fonte started at Crystal Palace as a right back, so perhaps Pardew does have designs on adding Ward and perhaps using Fonte at right back... ...or perhaps we're just all making excuses because we want to see Ward here and yet logic dictates 5 CB's is a lot...
  21. "Drew Surman is poised to join old club Saints on loan" www.imadethislinkupmyself.com I wouldn't mind seeing him back tbf. Would provide strength on the left. Though it is probably Ward...
  22. This may be the Lounge, so I'll keep it as clean as possible, but I would ruin Cat Deeley. The dress she was wearing on Saturday was so short, I couldn't stop staring at her legs! And I'm not a leg man...
  23. If you're contracted, you should get paid, so long as they have officially told you not to go in. Otherwise, take a rag, go to work and clean the windows. They surely couldn't deny you pay then, plus you've shown initiative to your new employers. Or just go down the pub.
  24. If this happens, I will literally burst with excitement. He's been linked with the top CCC and one or two Premiership sides, I wouldn't be too sure that even we could persuade him to come here, irrespective of the money we throw at him.
  25. I'd be suprised if he goes anywhere. Always seemed like a one club man, I think he'd rather retire than drop through the leagues, despite what Fergie says. He has become too injury prone too, which would put him on the same footing as Murty. We have James who, despite having his doubters, can do the job there until we can sign a competent replacement.
