  1. He has just passed 300no for Surrey vs Leicester (with the next highest scorer getting 30, and Leics 1st innings being 292). Would you take him back into the England squad or not? He has done something that has surprised me in forgoing the IPL to play county cricket, which would be the only way he would get back into the national squad. I understood why he was dropped, in that however good he was, a disruptive influence in the changing room isn't good. But the changing room has nothing to loose as we are really poor at the moment. But would bringing him back in cause more problems?
  2. Depends what happens tonight with Swansea/Arsenal, and then hope Man City don't lose. Frankly I don't care any more. The players seem not to, so why should I? Man Utd are in 4th with 68 points, 11 ahead of us. I wonder whether people think that we could have expected to have got 12 more points recently? Ones we have lost this year are Leicester (A), Sunderland (A), Stoke (A), Everton (A), WBA (A), Liverpool (H), Swansea (H). Then of course there are the draws against Spurs (H), Chelsea (A), WHU (H). The CL was a real possibility up until the end of January. Since then 4W 3D 7L. OK, I am not expecting us to win every single game, but we've fluffed it big time.
  3. Silver lining....at least management will see who gives a toss/100% and who doesn't.
  4. Really? My PC crashed because the game was so ****. And I can't be bothered to get the game up again.
  5. Well that's 1 point from our last 6 away games. Clyne - not been impressed with him for a few games now. Seems "distracted".

    What's the 0.1 for?
  7. Think we just have to hope that Arsenal and Chelsea beat Swansea.
  8. Strange thing about the NHS is that as a percentage of GDP (probably the best measure of what the country can afford) the Tories took it over 8% for the first time, and since 2010, increased spending by £13bn (which is about 13% or 5.5% in real terms). It's all well and good listening to the scaremongering by political parties, but it is usually best to look at the facts. I believe in 2012, spending on NHS did dip, but still, not (AFAIK) as a percentage of GDP. https://fullfact.org/health/manifesto__election_2015_health-44592 As it is such an important issue to so many people, why do people think that any politician is going to cause themselves unnecessary hardship with such a hot potato? Anwyay, the thing I "like" about NHS discussions, is that efficiencies and savings from them are never talked about, only spending more and more and more. Say for example (NB this is just for illustrative purposes) you spend £100bn in year 1, but in year 2 find £10bn of efficiencies without affecting service at all and spend £95bn, what are the headlines likely to be? X Party slashes NHS Budget, when the reality is somewhat different. Main problem with the Tories is that they have never ever been able to transmit messages properly, so when others say the NHS is going to be privatised then people go into meltdown. As Nigel Lawson wrote: "The National Health Service is the closest thing the English have to a religion, with those who practise in it regarding themselves as a priesthood. This made it quite extraordinarily difficult to reform. For a bunch of laymen, who called themselves the Government, to presume to tell the priesthood that they must change their ways in any respect whatever, was clearly intolerable. And faced with a dispute between their priests and ministers, the public would have no hesitation in taking the part of the priesthood."
  9. Good header. Do away goals still count?
  10. Surprised Bramall Lane is so empty for such an important match.
  11. I must be very strange. I have no 2nd favourite team. Am I missing out on something?
  12. Deal done between who? Utd and SFC? Utd and Clyne? etc etc
  13. http://www.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/sport/football/575432/Jay-Rodriguez-Southampton-contract-waiting Love the red tops.
  14. More interesting to see is which league QPR will be playing in (presuming they will be relegated) and whether they can avoid the £50m fine + a possible transfer embargo that more than likely is waiting for them.
  15. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3069401/Bournemouth-promotion-comes-cost-Cherries-owner-Maxim-Demin-Premier-League-new-boys-announce-debt-21-5m.html "Interesting" article. Paints a slightly different picture. So a team that cost nothing to assemble has apparently cost the owner £25m to get promoted.
  16. Aye, we'll just put this one to bed when he signs his next contract. As you say, actions speak louder than words and no doubt we'll soon enough hear "too good an opportunity to pass up", "biggest club in the world", "winning silverware", "Champions League" and other such platitudes.
  17. Koeman said there was when his father was yapping on. Urrr, that's what I just said. Disagree with you on this. He was good, but not "very good". We also didn't let him leave for next to nothing. If you listen to his father again, then you might think so, but most other sources state £3-3.5m Are you mad? He's scored 1 goal since he left us. We are all entitled to our opinions I guess. Personally on footballing matters, I'll go with the club over you.
  18. Chambers isn't injured. Last played on 11th April coming on for Sanchez in the 3rd minute of extra time.
  19. How anyone knows what the situation was, is a bit of a mystery. Seems that it might be the tweets from his gobby father. Correct me if I am wrong, but his father was still gobbing off about no contract when there was in fact an offer on the table.
  20. Why? They've done bloody well and achieved more than they could have dreamt of. Let them bask in the glory of their fantastic achievement. If we won the league (PL as our expectations are higher) then we would be going on about it for decades.
  21. Brentford PNE Plymouth
  22. Osvaldo hits post after 9 minutes Boca vs River. Boca seem to put all their games free of charge on youtube.
  23. I know we have to be careful talking about Adam Johnson, but someone who has been been charged with three offences of sexual activity with a child under 16 and one of grooming really shouldn't be included in the squad and should be put on gardening leave until cleared or otherwise. I think that the situation that Sunderland find themselves in in the league has clouded their judgement on what the right thing should be and is a sad indictment of modern day football. When Dave Jones faced nine charges related to sex offences and ill treatment of children he was put on gardening leave until his name was cleared (but then of course we did the dirty on him). Disappointing by Sunderland that their priorities are wholly misplaced.
  24. Ah the good old days when the FA Cup meant something to so many. I used to love the build up to the whole thing, but now....?
  25. Not half as impressive as WHU. They get a £500m stadium, which then has £200m spent on converting it, for £15m for 99 years. This is before taking into account the cost of transport infrastructure (both local and further afield) and the fact that they sold Boleyn for anything up to £70m all so that some people could avoid being responsible for a white elephant.
