Apart from they won't use the AFC, so will have Villa and Woolwich above them

Embarrassing.

Now all we need is a Norwich/Ipswich play off final.

Love the Daily Mail (yes I know....but's it's free). Their football page vidiprinter states no live games. Headline is about HAzard & Terry and the PFA rubbish. Then they have live coverage of the FA Youth Cup and a bit about Mourinho, Arsenal, Terry, Man U. Not a single word about Bournemouth and their game. Not really surprised, but just a shame that the press cannot look at this as a something great for the game. But no. Constantly about the big 4 or 5 teams. Writing endless cr@p that is so uninteresting. I guess they'll have a report after the game but really, what is more important. Chesea U18 v Man City U18, or B'mouth vs Bolton which will all but decide promotion to the PL?

Nervous start by Cherries at the back. Seem quite a threat up front.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3057343/Southampton-striker-Graziano-Pelle-seventh-Italian-score-10-Premier-League-goals-season-others.html Can he become the highest scoring (in one season) Italian the PL has ever seen? Probably asking too much, but......

I do think that the last bit is very important.

Brenda talking about attracting players even though they are going to miss out on CL "I think if they have watched us over a few years, if we can regroup and get some quality starters in, we can go on another great adventure and get back in there." Now I believe that over the past 3 years since he has been there (and won nothing) he has spent £211,550,000 (http://www.lfchistory.net/Transfers/ByManager/25-1). If you have spent over £200m and still not got some "quality starters", then what hope is there for you? He's bought 24 players in in 3 years - 24!!! The man is an idiot. I know that they have this transfer committee, and Brenda takes the flack for it, but he's a **** at the best of times, and I think the most disliked manager in the league.

And a second (quite good it was too). Really can't see him taking a step down. He's finally been given a change and he seems to be taking it.
-
Just scored another goal vs Celta Vigo. Not sure he'll be coming to us.
-
He's very light on his feet. So light that a fart would blow him over. It started with Arsenal in the League Cup and hasn't really stopped since. Don't like. No need for it. Doesn't work.
-
Yup - as they didn't need to, they made sure that they didn't lose. Losing had to be avoided. So JM sees his 10 point lead against his closest rival maintained, while making sure that there is one less game to catch and over take him. What ever you say about the man, he takes a dispassionate view on how to win, and does it well.

What do you mean? I fell asleep just before half time and woke up at 59mins. Did I miss something?

Harald Schumacher in goal for Arsenal

I'm sure that when I had the misfortune of being made to sit in block 43, seeing Sam Gallagher score.

Apart from the ridiculous back heel that (eventually) led to the 1st goal, thought GP had a great game today although there is still room for improvement. Maybe next season.
-
On the face of it yes, but no. 4 games left and they need to win 3 games more than we do as our GD is so much better than theirs that 2 wins and a draw isn't good enough. But fair does to them. They've done well this season and pleased that they are likely to finish 8th. At one stage fairly recently, I did think that they would be challenging us, but given the number of games left, while it is still mathematically possible, it would be somewhat bizarre if they did.
-
Would just like to congratulate the team and management on recording our record points haul in the PL (with hopefully another 12 coming our way).

Fonte got my vote, even before reading this thread.

Ronald Koeman insists even Barcelona could not lure him from Southampton
angelman replied to goneawol's topic in The Saints
I do wonder whether this was a little dig at Poch. But maybe RK isn't into that sort of thing. He seems to have such a small ego that it is really quite refreshing. -

Is it OK to admit that I have a certain man crush on him. -
I still remember a great compliment (I think during Strachan days) and wish I kept the headline. It read "Spurs: The poor man's Southampton" or something similar. But oh how things have changed since then!

That surprises me a bit. Looking at William Hill Saints 11/10 Draw 21/10 Spuds 11/4

Actually a pretty hard game to call.

Aren't we just following the Lyon model? http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/2010/10/trade-secrets-behind-lyons-rise.html
