  1. 18 out of 22 Guessed the 1st, 4th, 7th (sort of), 12th, 15th, 16th, 22nd Wrong 5th, 6th, 17th, 19th So with all those guesses, not sure my 18/22 is really that great.
  2. So St Charlie, who admits to being Yuki, is also Glasgow St, Aziz Yebda and Hesisenburg (according to the thread linked). It now all makes so much more sense.
  3. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3052027/Victor-Wanyama-Arsenal-want-sign-Southampton-summer.html Interesting that the Mail is running this. Quite a prominent article just about someone denying a rumour. Not their usual stuff, unless it is to try and get one over the Sun.
  4. The bit about the shirt interested me. http://www.football-espana.net/clubs/Athletic%20Bilbao/history http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/safc-athletic-bilbao-link.488259/ Seems Sunderland & Southampton have a connection.
  5. There's a problem with that in conjunction to you. The definition is Wonder whether you can spot the problem!?
  6. This tapping up of players is getting ridiculous, and yes, Saints are equally complicit in it. OK, so it's indirect, but let's not be naive about it and call it anything other than what it is, regardless whether it is player, agent or club that is doing it. It would be nice if the PL/FA actually did something about it, but I guess they won't or can't as newspapers/blogs can write any old unsubstantiated ballcocks (which they do anyway - frequently) and agents , well, they're just looking for the next pay day.
  7. Naughty naughty. Has the Sun been making up quotes?
  8. Slightly different in that they don't seemingly want to leave us, but with reference to their previous clubs, I am not sure the ins and outs of what they were doing/saying during the middle of last season. They weren't linked with us until Koeman was appointed during the break, so their heads weren't with us while they were playing last season. They may have been elsewhere, away from their clubs, but I am very doubtful they were with us. Mané not travelling - was it a refusal as there seems to be more than one side to this? But no, if it was a refusal, then I certainly wouldn't condone it, much in the same way I hold views of Kenwyne Jones's behaviour. Vilhelna's behaviour is not much different to those wanting to leave, if true, as he should be more respectful to his employers. I am not going to be so blinkered to think that because they are linked with COMING IN to us that it is more acceptable, because it isn't. It's all part of football's demise where people don't know how to behave. But I guess, at least Vilhena has handed in a transfer request, something that hasn't happened for a while at Saints. Or so it seems - who was the last person to hand in a transfer request?
  9. This sums it up. Posters on here can bleat on as much as they like about the ambition of players and that is how players behave these days, but if they don't have the courtesy to behave with respect to their employers, then there is no hiding it. I do wonder whether some of our more disappointing results might be because certain players aren't 100% committed to the club what with their coveting of being part of another squad. Certainly Clyne, Morgan and Vic have all come out in the press saying that they want to be elsewhere. If you say that then how can you be 100% committed to Saints? JRod's another one - was offered a contract extension months ago wasn't he? I would prefer to now drop those players who don't want to be with us for the rest of the season and replace with players who actually do want to be with us, even if it means cutting our nose off to spite our face. But then I guess it's not my money. Looking back on last season's departures, at least most waited until the end of the season (or am I mistaken with that?).
  10. Sorry but posting a picture of Jacko and Bubbles, I am not sure the mental image that would go along with forever blowing Bubbles could get me enthused with that one.
  11. If someone offers £20m, take it.
  12. This, of course this. And once they have them in, how long will ticket prices stay low? Of course it also helps being given a 54k capacity stadium for free (well maybe not free as they are paying a whopping £15m for a 99 year tenure) while we the tax payer pick up a £200m tab to convert an athletics stadium, which we we spent nearly £500m building in the first place, into a football one. http://www.spectator.co.uk/features/9374702/londons-real-olympic-legacy-paying-to-build-the-stadium-twice/ And of course they sold Upton Park for some undisclosed figure, apparently less than the £71m that it is valued in the accounts, so let's say £50m for the sake of it. Seems a blinding bit of business, all so that ego's in government don't have a huge white elephant having spent a ridiculous amount on the Olympics.
  13. We've got the 8th most expensive most expensive season ticket, so let's hope we don't come lower than 8th. What would be more useful is finding the average ST price for adults. Otherwise it's a bit like Ryanair where there are a couple of tickets at £0.99, a few at £5, some at £10 and the majority at £200.
  14. QPR £499 vs Saints £599 - given the stadia, I would say QPR is worse value than us, and that the £5.26 extra per game is worth it. Same can be said about Palace, Hull and the £2.57 more we pay. Selhurst Park is a diabolical ****hole. Man Utd sure they have some cheap tickets, but they have some nasty surprises as well. Season Ticket Holders are required to purchase a ticket for all home cup matches (see below). And really, looking here - http://www.manutd.com/~/media/A6324988E6F34A9AB9B656D903634225.ashx - after the cheapest tickets, they do get rather expensive. So you can opt out, but then you'll find you miss out renewing your season ticket. Fortunately for ST holders this year, Utd didn't do very well in the cups.
  15. But 9, we also "shipped out" two of the highest earners in Gaston (contract until 30/6/16) and Osvaldo (contract until 30/6/17). However we have yet to shift them off the books, so no doubt we will continue to pay. Hopefully Boca can pay us something. Their record transfer is £10.5m and their second highest is £3.5m. Not sure if anyone will buy Gaston or take him on loan next season.
  16. Yes I know, but I'm sure that they didn't expect WHU to have (pretty much) the same ticket prices as them, when they dropped the action: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2676694/Leyton-Orient-drop-legal-case-against-West-Ham-Olympic-Stadium-move.html The article says that there was an undisclosed settlement - I wonder if that is an annual payment. There's certainly enough money around to buy them off, both from the PL, WHU, IOC, Mayor of London, the council etc etc (the latter lot not wanting to have a white elephant on their hands).
  17. I'm sure Leyton Orient will be thrilled about this. Their ticket prices for 2014-15 start at £220 for an adult in the North stand, £325 in the South stand, £350 in the East/West stands and £630 in the Gallery.
  18. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2274957/Financial-Fair-Play-Premier-League-agree-financial-cap-clubs-face-points-deduction.html This is an old article but I found it interesting that the signatories to the letter were all of the top 6 except Man City. Which means that they can't compete with Man City's buying power but want to make sure that no one else threatens their position. We can increase our wage bill by £4m a season plus any increase from commercial income. So we are never likely to be able to match Spurs (or QPR for that matter?). Not unless we sign sponsorship deals that rival Man Utd's.
  19. There was an interesting piece on talkSport today about club wages and current positions. We are the most over achieving having the 15th biggest wage bill (QPR the biggest under achievers with the 7th biggest bill). But, the main point was that the top 6 in the table, have by far the biggest wage bill. Man Utd something like £250m a year, down to Spuds in 6th with about £120m. Then QPR in 7th is something like £68m where the next 10 are about (IIRC £60-50m) and Leicester and Burnley at the bottom on £16m. I think our wage bill is £52m, half that of Spurs.
  20. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-cool-interest-morgan-schneiderlin-5556330 This might be true, as it saves them £25m odd.
  21. Thought McQueen did well as did Gallagher. Gazza wasn't reassuring and having been here for 3 years, really should have displaced Kelvin by now. I found the way he punted the ball out quite fascinating. Often seemed to slice it down the left side but then the spin would bring it back infield.
  22. Interesting.....currently top quote on this article http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3046177/Liverpool-captain-Steven-Gerrard-spent-force-Brendan-Rodgers-real-flop.html is Now Batman's post was 16 hours or so ago, but I know DM sometimes post hours after you have written the comment. But the similarity is striking. Which leads me to think... a) Manu96 copied Batman's post b) Batman copied this from somewhere else on the web c) Batman is Manu96 and really a Man U supporter. I find a) unlikely as isn't really a thread that you would read unless you are Saints. So it's one of the other two. Is Batman taking credit for something he didn't write or is he a Man U supporter?

OMG - this is going to be a long summer if the battle of the ITKers has already kicked off.
  24. Is Rogers the most disliked manager in the league? His arrogance is misplaced, as he has done **** all to justify it. The closest two are Jose and Van Gaal. Jose is Jose, takes the mick but has also done it. Van Gaal is far too humourless but has also done it. Rodgers is a two hat, plain and simple and the brilliance of Suarez carried him last season. He is right to a certain extent about spending £100m. I reckon many a manager could spend what he did and assemble a squad that would be in the same position as Pool are at the moment. He was right when he said that anyone spending that much should be challenging for the title, especially as he only lost one main player so didn't have a mass rebuild job. It was interesting listening to TalkSport last week about Klopp. They said that maybe Liverpool should thanks Rogers for all his work and say thanks for him taking them as far as HE can (and they used Saints and Adkins as an example) and appoint Klopp. Wouldn't be surprised if that happens, especially if they did happen to finish 6th or 7th, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Benitez back at some stage.
