  1. A Heartbreak for Steven Gerrard? Who gives a ****? Well done Villa would be more appropriate.
  2. Ah - that's excellent, so long as Arse win. Much happier now, than I was. Might also help with our game vs Villa, who seem in good form now. Fair does to Sherwood. Thought he was all mouth but he seems to have the trousers to go with it.
  3. I'm prob going to try and make it, thus will have to buy on the gate.
  4. Let's face it, the problem with us this season has been the lack of converting chances to goals. We started off well, helped by 12 against the north east teams in 2 home games, but 12 goals in the 14 games this year. Pelle being the front man of course gets the "blame", but no one else can claim to be on fire. Mané might be excused, but even his goals have dried up. But good strikers don't grow on trees, but given the lack of goals, it would have been nice to see Ryan Seager.
  5. Well, barring letting in shed loads and Swansea scoring shed loads, 7th is the lowest we can finish.
  6. Don't be silly. It can't be that. Can it? I know you have paraphrased things, but if it was just the standard of the stewardship rather than any malfeasance, then that's hardly libellous. Do you know what was written and was there an allegation of breaking the law?
  7. It is, but, and playing devil's advocate (and as mentioned above) it somewhat depends what was said. The fact that the chap had 34 "friends" is somewhat irrelevant. It's easy to pass judgement when we don't know both sides of the story (ie what was written). I would love to know what got the Oyston's so motivated to sue one of their supporters, but guess that it can't be repeated here.
  8. It is vindictive by Oyston, but you can't go around libelling people.
  9. Company details For the purposes of Football League regulations, AFC Bournemouth can confirm ownership details of the company: AFC Bournemouth is 100% owned by AFC Bournemouth Enterprises Ltd. Company address: AFC Bournemouth, Goldsands Stadium, Dean Court, Bournemouth, BH7 7AF. Registered in England No. 6632170 Vat No. 941958488 http://www.afcb.co.uk/global/company-details.aspx
  10. Some of us were born there so take a passing interest.
  11. Went on to my bookies site, and for wins for the top 3 winning their next game, I got 28/10. Weren't offering odds for the rest of the season, at least not that I could see.
  12. Bertrand vs Shaw. You say that we haven't missed Shaw and I would have to agree. It's always hard to compare players, but.... Shaw seems to have more pace and is possibly stronger. He is thought of as the better defender, but not sure Bertrand is any less good. Bertrand can and does use both feet. Too often last season Shaw would make a run down the wing, get towards the corner, cut back, find the ball on his right foot and then not cross it because he had to have it on his left to do that. For someone who cost £30m and plays on the wing, surely you would want them to be able to use both feet. Bale used to be just as bad, but he seems more confident using his right these days. Maybe Shaw can develop this, and IIRC, I think he might be using his right peg a bit this season, but I've hardly seen him on the pitch to notice. Bertrand in the league has scored twice and has 3 assists. Bertrand, albeit 6 years older = Shaw + £20m. At present that's the main argument, but for Man Utd, those 6 years (presuming he stays and flourishs) makes sense so a good deal for all involved although, given the astronomic fee, more so for us.
  13. Christ, are we still going on about this? The price is the price. No amount of whinging is going to change that. Why don't you go here and get some tickets? http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/tickets/home_tickets/ . Only £20.
  14. I focused on the following: and The first quote is something I've always wondered about. Someone said that the staff at SFC were very concerned about his physique. After the 12/13 season, he bulked up massively and I always wondered about the transition "into a man's body". Being good before it, doesn't always translate into being good once you have the man's body as you can't always grow into it as you want. And the second quote. Well, Ashton just couldn't resist it could he. Cortese. Did he not take on board what Cortese said about department heads? If he had, then he would have realised that Cortese's department would not have guided Shaw.
  15. Disagree. Watford won't drop any. Norwich or Boro (but obviously not both) are quite likely not to drop any points (of course dependant on there not being a draw when they play each other). And why do you think B'mouth will drop any?
  16. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-3042035/Nathaniel-Clyne-leave-Southampton-admits-Ronald-Koeman.html
  17. Yes - of course it does!!! Not sure what I was thinking - must have been finishing as Champions rather than automatic promotion. Or maybe something totally different, as it doesn't make any sense!
  18. I must be, mustn't I! Very droll.
  19. Bmouth H v Sheff Wed (11th) Hv Bolton (17th) A v Charlton (12th) Norwich H v M'boro (4th) A v Rotherham (21st) H v Fulham (20th) Watford H v Brum (14th) A v B&HA (19th) H v Sheff W (11th) M'boro A v Norwich (2nd) A v Fulham (20th) H v B&HA (19th) Save for the Norwich v Boro, B'mouth have the "hardest" run in on paper. Even if Norwic/Boro draw it doesn't really help B'mouth as there is still Watford, who do have to face the inform Brum.
  20. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-monitoring-matt-phillips-after-5526311 Matt Phillips, now. We do need some home grown players as they are being sold, or likely to be, at quite a quick rate. Apart from that 40 yard screamer he scored the other day, don't know much about him.
  21. Yes but that's OK because he's our manager.
  22. I don't see any ads.
  23. Didn't QPR pick up Austin on the cheap because of potentially dodgy knees?
  24. Official link? That would be tapping up and against the rules. Daily Star had it and then the usual blogs ran with it. So that's about it at the moment. Guess it somewhat depends if Burnley stay up or not.
  25. His name has cropped up a few times.
