  1. Gazza is to me the most interesting one. Anyone know how he is progressing? Seemed OK in the highlights, but....
  2. Congrats to RK and Pelle
  3. I agree that it is a cheap political shot. These are private companies - to me if fans want representation, they should buy into the club, rather than just be a customer. Take us for example, us fans had the chance to buy the club not so long ago. I wonder if I go shopping at Tesco's whether I can get a seat on the board? As it currently stands, I do not want fans in the boardroom at SMS and do not think that one would have had any positive impact on any of our recent history. It mentions that supporters could get financial info on the club - well they can do that now to a certain extent by writing to Companies House and getting the accounts filed there. I wonder if Labour will really tackle the issue and return football to those that go the grounds? They go on about relocation of stadia and increasing ticket prices, but I am sure are a little coy when it comes to, for example, supporters from Hull (l think it was them last season) who were playing Arsenal on a Monday night and couldn't catch a train back afterwards. Or Saints having to leave at 5am to make a noon kick off in Sunderland. Or have they come out and squashed the proposed overseas games? No of course not. They wouldn't dare take on the TV companies and the PL, much easier and populist to attack the owners.
  4. Possibly, but it is a retaliation to you attacking the club. Urrr, yes it is, at least from your point of view You don't care about the club so please don't preach to us about our position. Me and many think we are better off as Forster is better than Boruc. That is opinion, and your's of course differs. Our position won't change. I think that everyone here wanted Boruc to stay and fight for his place Yeah right, just like Boruc should have fought for his place at Bournemouth? Pray tell what exactly is the difference so that you don't look a hypocrite? Patronising and very hollow words given that you have ripped him to pieces. What are you on about? You seem to fail to recognise that football is a team sport. It's about the team not individuals. And it all comes down to your boy running away (yup that's what he did - he ran away). A shame, cos as I said, I think everyone wanted him to stay, but if he feels that he is not good enough to oust Forster then maybe we are best to part company and I hope he finds a good club in January. You words are insincere, and we realise that you are sticking up for your boy, but still, they are insincere. My bold and enlarging from something you posted just a couple of weeks after the season ended. What was it..."Never push a loyal person to the point where they no longer give a damn".
  5. Irene you posted on 29th May about Boruc thinking about putting in a transfer if player sales happen. Then you go on about loyalty and how badly he has been treated by the club. I think that all needs to be said, don't you?
  6. Bucks I agree to a certain extent, but maybe we are from a pre-PL era. I think the modern supporter is a lot more fickle and are happy to change allegiances at a whim. Maybe I am wrong.
  7. Colin, she admits to having insider info about Boruc so it is probably safe to presume she knows him or his agent pretty well. That's of course fine as well as her opinion that Boruc is the best thing since sliced bread, but what I take issue with is the way that she is trying to get us supporters to turn against the club with this carry on about what will happen if Forster got injured (which would be the same as what would happen if we hadn't have signed Forster and Boruc got injured). She complains about how rude some Saints fans are, but the disingenuous and manipulative postings by her elicit this response from people. She is now just trolling the board. It should be remembered by her, that no one forced Boruc out of the club.
  8. Listen sweetie, you are obviously closely connected to him. You only post about him and nothing else. He is no longer here, so why are you? Go and take your biased view of his abilities with you. You are just making yourself look a tit with this whinging, The lady doth protest too much me thinks. If the **** hits the fan with Forster, so be it. And this is an interesting post of yours: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?50474-Name-Saint-s-starting-eleven-for-2014-5&p=1952920#post1952920 You and him talking about loyalty - that's a joke isn't it. He'll be requesting a transfer out! Pah. You disingenuous and hollow lot. Best be without you, and I'd rather take my chances and fall with the other goalies.
  9. I have a ST @ SMS. If it became unaffordable, I would probably give up with football totally. I wouldn't go and watch another side that I have no connection with. Maybe Bashley FC as it is the closest to me, but not another professional club.
  10. Irene, I don't want to be rude or anything, but can you just **** off somewhere else. You are boring beyond belief.
  11. OK, he doesn't get on the pitch much, but I believe and would like someone to confirm, that he does a hell of a lot on the training pitch and with the other players.
  12. Don't understand that. Why would you "flock to Dortmund"? I can't understand supporting a team based on their ticket prices. I have no connection to them, and have no interest in them. I did used to go to Ligue 1 when I lived in France, but that was to get my football fix from the team in the city I lived in.
  13. Should also have a row for average Prem League wage. As far as I can garner, the average wage.... 2000 @ £ 7,890 2006 @ £13,000 2014 @ £31,000 The report where I got the 2006 figure from said that the basic wage was then often added to by a factor of 60-100% when bonuses were taken into account. Not sure how much image rights add and what is now included/excluded as the tax man did a little digging into all this. Probably wouldn't affect those basic figures.
  14. Outstripping wage inflation - whose?? Not trying to be (too) facetious, and is a pertinent question. While it might outstrip supporters', it certainly isn't outstripping players' wages and that is where the money is going to. I know that this does not address the affordability issue. I do think some of the wages are ridiculous at clubs. Take United. While they have massive income streams (so maybe not the best example), they pay Rooney and Falcao, say, £700k a week (after NIC). £36.4m a year. Then taking just their BPL games, they have 19 with 75k crowds (a total of say 1.5m tickets). So the wages of just these 2 players is the equivalent of £24 per ticket. Where do you draw the line? Do you offer cheaper tickets to your customers but not employ someone on £300k a week? I wonder how many supporters at United would accept a £12 a game discount if it meant not having either one of Rooney or Falcao, or a £24 discount if it meant neither were there? I realise that this is overly simplistic, but I hope the point is made.
  15. Some people want all the trappings that BPL brings but at L2 prices. Poopey charge £20 - would people be happier with that? Sure, compare to Spain or Germany if you want, but look at how much profit clubs make and then see whether ticket prices are too high. Having said that, I thought with the new TV deal, prices could have stayed static rather than go up in line with inflation + c2%
  16. Are you Irene in disguise? He had lost his place in the team before he had his strop. Going to Bournemouth or anywhere else is unlikely to displace Szczesny. Maybe Nawałka thinks Arsenal's Nº 1, who plays Champions League as well, is a better bet than Boruc between the sticks for Poland. As for the management cocking up, I think that you might be speaking ballcocks. Isn't it very well known that if you throw a strop with Koeman, you ain't going to win. And why you and Irene think it is the management rather than Boruc who have created this situation is anyone's guess. But isn't it all getting a little tedious now? All that is happening is that you two go on about how he should still be Nº1 at Saints. If he was so good, why then did another club in PL or European top division not come in when it was known to one and all that he was for sale? And why are we being "a$$ holes about this"? I think most here would like him back and to try and regain his place, but if he is happy to strop off somewhere, so be it, he can jog on. The club is bigger than any player, and certainly bigger than Boruc.
  17. Irene, tell me, is your friend and/or client prepared to move to a club where he doesn't automatically become Nº1?
  18. To be fair, the Serbian players after the initial skirmish behaved pretty well in trying to calm things down and protect the Albanians from the mad Ultras and get the Serb "supporters" off the pitch. And the initial skirmish between the players was manageable until the bloke with the chair came into it. The police were pathetic.
  19. Seems that the president of Albania's brother got arrested and then very very swiftly un-arrested. http://www.thescore.ie/drone-flag-fight-albania-serbia-1724718-Oct2014/ ****ing idiot.
  20. Exactly - none are necessary and none diminish from the enjoyment (or otherwise) of the game. I haven't bought a programme this season - I only buy them with the nipper and he has only been to one game and even then, the queue was too long. I haven't bought a cup of tea, but I did buy a hotdog. Can't remember what it cost. But I do wonder how we stack up against other clubs for the Magnum ice cream at half time from the pitch side sellers?
  21. Liverpool cheapest @ £37 vs ours at £32 doesn't even tell half the story. Personally, I would think that a £37 restricted view seat is such bad value for money, and one that I wouldn't even pay £5 for. Why go to a game when you can't see the whole pitch? As Ant says, the £27 Arsenal doesn't really tell the whole story either.
  22. People complain about high ticket prices. People complain about not holding on to players by not paying them 6 figure weekly salaries. People complain about signings. People complain about an awful lot of things. People seem not to realise that everything is linked. You want better players etc, you have to pay more. Sure TV revenue is much bigger than most other income streams for most clubs, so if you are ambitious and FFP rules mean you have to live within your means, then ticket prices are going to only go one way.
  23. This, and to be honest, I would rather watch some of the others! The problem is, now that we have reverted to type, is that the national team has little relevance to anyone outside of the "elite" clubs, who dislike letting their players go. It is also the attitude. I'd rather 10 Delphs who want to play, rather than those on six figure weekly wages whose ultimate loyalty lies with their employers. Ok , Delph has loyalty to his employers, but unlike the CL where the "elite" club players can have a stage, this is Delph's big stage (at the moment!)
  24. FF better kicking and distribution at the back. My heart doesn't beat nearly as quickly as when Boruc faffed about. IMO much more confidence with FF. Everton might need a keeper. Howard struggling at the moment. Not sure who their number 2 is.
