With Pelle's goal, the TV doesn't really do it justice, as from where I was sat, the loop over Green was more exquisite.

I know that they are very different, but can't decide whether it is Clyne's or Pelle's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwOHyJVpn34 (before it get's taken down) http://www.thefootballcafe.com/goals/pelle-vs-qpr/ I think that I would have to go for Clyne's. But what do I know. I thought Osvaldo's was goal of the season last year, but no one else did because of his behaviour.

Gardos vs Toby might be an interesting one. Gardos did well at Arsenal (or so I thought) and while Toby did well against Newcastle (who couldn't??) he didn't seem quite such at ease vs QPR. Or maybe I wasn't watching properly!

You can take all sorts of statistics and get an answer that suits your argument. Personally, I would take some stats from this year and last year and find the rank correlation coefficient.

Bit like talkSport saying at about 5.30 on Saturday that Chelsea had extended their lead.

Should we have sacked Pochettino any way?
angelman replied to Red And White Barmy Army's topic in The Saints
It has been reported a fair few times that he went to the PSG vs Chelsea UCL game and was looking around to see what other jobs were on offer. His name was in the frame for the PSG job around that time, as well as others in Europe. I think, but could be wrong, that the story was that he was there with his agent, ostensibly for scouting but in reality it was job hunting. Of course I am sure someone will be able to verify or dismiss this, but I think the likes of Guan or another ITKer mentioned it (apologies to Guan if it wasn't you). -

No. But when you hear stories of his behaviour in January at the PSG vs Chelsea game, then possibly. -
Interesting that people like to put a downer on Pelle for having easy goals in the Eredivisie but the same accusation is not levelled at Zlatan for scoring so freely in Ligue 1. On balance I would have thought overall that Ligue 1 was probably weaker than the Eredivisie. LvG was saying a short while back that Eredivisie was the equal to Serie A!!!!!

Problem with these comparisons is that they do not take into account how the opposition has changed over the summer. So really, while it might be interesting, it is a little meaningless.

Would be fascinated to know how many players actually take cuts (that is when age is not a factor). but agree, at £90k, I doubt anyone would sign him.

Are the papers that devoid of content, that they have to start transfer rumours less than a month after the window closed and 3 months before the next one opens?

I think FIFA said the game could be stopped for 3 minutes and I suspect that is what happened (although it felt like longer). I sort of agree with Saggy, but I would almost take it further. Not only have the "blood sub", but if it was clear that someone was concussed, then you could sub him without breaking into your allocation of 3. I realise that this could be abused, but if both team doctors and the ref agreed then it might work. One would hope that team doctors good be impartial in this but it might be asking too much. If that happened, then there would be less reason to endanger a player by keeping him on the pitch. As for the delay on Saturday, we were all over the before it, but after, we were a little more reserved.

As for WBA, quite like Berahino.

Burnley aren't looking good. I was rather hoping that they would do quite well, but I can't see them staying up given the 1st half performance. They've only scored 1 goal this season (in 5½ matches) and that is poor.

Having said what I did earlier.....yesterday, traffic was a bithc. My short cut/alternative was empty. I got the last parking spot in the car park. So when I came across building works on Old Northam Road, I decided not to walk under the ladder on the scaffolding in case the fortune shining down on me disappeared at the game.

Glad to see he was not as light on his feet (if you get my drift) as he was at Arsenal as I thought the penalty was a tad theatrical.

I am not arrogant/delude/stupid/weird enough to think that what I do can influence the outcome of a game. I'm not God.

Tosser on talksport said "Chelsea extend their lead at the top". Urrr, no they don't (save for pedants and goal difference)
-
Where did 5 minutes come from? The 6 extra for the 1st half was understandable, but 5 at the end of the second????
-
I had him as MotM, and thought when he went off combined by Hoylett (sp?) coming on for them, we looked a little fragile.

Deano, interesting. I felt the end of the season was a huge anti climax. It wasn't helped by JRod's injury leaving us a little toothless. Opinions opinions.

Morgan's tweet about the 6 year journey being destroyed, while premature maybe in his case, the sentiments might well be applied by Saints fans to Lallana

I really don't get the "There is a difference when you pull on that Liverpool shirt to playing for Southampton". Why? Sure, the fans of Liverpool have a huge sense of expectation and entitlement. But I would expect a player to give 100% for what ever club he played for and therefore there wouldn't be a question of upping one's game as it would already be at 100%. While he is trying to ingratiate himself to his new club, he comes across as being somewhat disrespectful to Southampton, not that I care in the slightest. I realise players come and go, but the way he has gone about it, and is still going on about it, makes him come across as a two hat and maybe he should think before he speaks. "You go into games with a different mentality, you are expected to win a lot more games" - wtf does that really mean? I hope that all the players that we have got this season at Saints go into EVERY game expecting to win. I had hoped that that was the case last season, but seemingly some of the team and management really couldn't wait to be elsewhere. They have the audacity to question the club's ambition, but it statements like this that lead me to question their ambition while at Southampton and to show what shallow people they are. I now have an irrational and childish view on old Adam, even though I don't care what he says. I see him poncing around the pitch playing with his hair and think that he is a............Anyway, he's part of our history and nothing to do with the club any more.
