You have a point, to a certain extent, but if you are going down that route, then Newcastle should be heavily featured as they are the 3rd best attended club in the country. Anyway, this might be of interest to you http://www.uefa.org/MultimediaFiles/Download/Tech/uefaorg/General/02/09/18/26/2091826_DOWNLOAD.pdf and in particular page 41 has this: http://i.imgur.com/YQSpR6g.png

Yes quite, I did go a wee bot OTT. Didn't realise the list was so long - sorry! As I said I was going to give up, but as I had started...

Is it getting worse and worse or is that my imagination? I look at the Daily Mail mobile site (as no pay wall) and am always amazed by their coverage of sport. Currently it goes... De Gea and his dodgy start Ibrahimovic never going to play PL and liking Rooney as that is the only person he's heard of. Bianchi/F1 and his crash Kevin "figjam" Pietersen Falcao wanting to stay at Utd Ozil not being trusted in the centre by Arsenal Courtois OK to play Wenger's past topuchline bust ups Wenger push virals Arsenal and their view on not competing with Chelsea Wenger saying that theire keeper had an easier time than Chelsea's David Luiz turning down a contract @ Chelsea Bianchi Luke Shaw Wenger making no apology for the push Massa saying they should have cancelled race Chelsea being up for a fight Man Utd - have they lost the knack of scoring late goals Rooney - 10m twitter followers Courtois & concussion & PL rules Petrov playing Sunday League & recovery Bayern Munich dress up for the Beer Fest Adrian's grand father comes to watch him play vs QPR Fernandes (QPR) moaning how shït they are Totti claiming match fixed vs Roma Lampard maybe extending his stay Rodgers sure Sterling will stay at Pool. Tan being called stooopid de gea says di Maria was MotM Chambers being called up to the seniors Stones injury Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal Citeh and Yaya More Chelsea vs Arsenal and how they all should have been sent off Rio saying he's not ready to take over FIFA Real 5-0 Bilbao Pietersen Pietersen again Even more Pietersen Even more Pieteresen Prior not liking Pietersen's claims (wonder if Piers Morgan, now employed by the Mail has got anything to do with all this!!!!) Pardew and his plight Fabregas a true bluw Fabregas saying Arse fans will always be in his heart Graham Poll banging on about Chelsea vs Arsenal Hartlepool's new manager A horse's career ending Arjen Robben is unstoppable claims Rummenigge James Rodriguez wants to emulate di Maria @ Real Rugby Celtic 0-1 Hamilton Wet Spam 2-0 QPR Barca David Silva is wonderful LvG believes Falcao will be wonderful LvG will see out his contract Woy being rude (but truthful) about the Scouse accent Spuds 1-0 SFC Cruyff saying LvG is a cokk Cheadle 0-22 Russia U19 PSG 1-1 Monaco Juve 3-2 Roma Sakho & losing his father Pa**** Cisse Rodgers warning Balotelli needs to score more Adams whinging about Norwich performance Leeds take over Poyett dropping Fletcher Ard de Triomphe McIlroy Djokovic winning Sharapova winning Hamilton winning de Caesaris being killed SA 27-25 All Blacks Carra being angry about Sterling transfer stories WONGA and NUFC Keown on Chelsea Benteke Ashton being sycophantic about players like Lamps, Becks, Terry Neville Man City not being overly convincing vs Villa Welbeck has a chance to shine for club & country Rooney and his red LvG's interview style being similar to SAF. ****. I've got too much time on my hands. I was going to give up half way, but thought might push through. In honesty, this is a quiet day for DM, as there seems to be less than usual concerning Liverpool and United.

It is interesting about the difference in incomes. Re: Watford, here is a bit more.....

Intersting what we did compared to Chelsea (for example) using the latest accounts Chelsea 2012/13 Matchday = £70.7m Broadcasting = £105.4m Commercial = £83.9m Saints 2012/13 Matchday = £16.9m Broadcasting = £46.9m Commercial = £6.7m To compare to Watford, seeing as CB mentioned them... Watford 2012/13 Matchday = £5.592m Media = £4.790m Commercial = £7.751m

Maybe you have a problem with the English language, but even the headline goes against what you say. Sustainable GROWTH. Nowhere else in the article is there a suggestion of cutting back to just sustaining our position in the league. Personally I want sustainability - if I was a supporter of one of these teams that really have bought success 100%, I would always have a fear that the rich owner might tire of his plaything, want his/her money back and leave to sail their private liner around the Med. Also, the way clubs are being run along such unsustainable lines (some clubs worse than others) is all part of the mad world of football finance that I really really hate. I'd like to do things properly even if it comes at the cost of a few places in the league. On the face of it, I would hate to support Man U where the owners have just bought in £150m worth of players. OK, their commercial streams allow them to do this, but it is ridiculous. I would far prefer seeing more home grown talent. I guess it is easy to say that while supporting Saints, as spending £200m+ in a year is never likely to happen.

God I feel old reading this!!!

I seem to have criticised Reed on that thread, and really, I might stand by that. If we were told no more players are going to be sold, and then immediately they are, it is very hard (without the benefit of hindsight) to take someone's word seriously. That of course could have been allayed with some sort of explanation, but the silence was not reassuring. But with hindsight, Reed does come out of this a lot better than some felt on that thread.

Good read and I would really like to know all the details in more depth re MP and the others leaving. Would love someone to write a book about it. I am slightly in two minds about some of the statements/info from the club. It seems obvious that the behaviour of MP, AL and DL have right royally ****ed off some(one) at board level. So on the one hand it is good to let off a bit of steam but on the other, it can come across as being a bit petty. The statements on the OS for Rickie vs Lallana/Lovren were a clear message. I guess the info in this article are better handled and not quite so blatant. But then I think, why should the Club be magnanimous when being screwed over.

So all these people who buggered off as soon as they could, profess an undying love for us. Is this the sort of love you professed to get past first base with a girl you have picked up?

Sorry, but I don'tbuy into "Southampton's aim is not a top-four finish, but to try to beat what Pochettino achieved when he took them to eighth place last season." Whether our aim is realistic is irrelevant, but I would far rather aim too high (so long as it is vialble financially and not like Leeds) than accept mediocrity and think that the aim is Europe and by that, not the Europa League.
-
Didn't he, or doesn't he, want JRod? But yes, it certainly didn't go unnoticed that it was mainly MS that he wanted. As for AL, I think he will be a pivotal player at Liverpool rahter than a bit part player. Coutinho is a load of crap, another bullet dodged there, and will replace him. Scoucers seem quite keen on AL. It was a very good deal for us, time will tell how good it was for Pool.

United to sign Matt Radcliffe following Tottenham match

What's wrong with it down this way? -
Lambert to ease the cogs for the other two.......hmmm. Not sure. Firstly they give him the Nº 9 shirt. Apparently players put a lot in this sort of thing, and you don't give the prized shirt to a bit part player. Maybe Brenda thought that he was going to set the world on fire but soon realised that this wasn't going to happen. Lallana - not sure how many other teams above us were in for him. Certainly by sounds of it, it was only Liverpool. Lovren - well he might be different. On the showing last year, I though Utd would be in for him given that they had gotten rid of their cerntre backs. But it's still curious. It would be a shame if his career fizzles out into nothingness because of his choice to join his boyhoood club. I'm sure he'll get a goal or two, so that is mission complete.

Que? Meant DM not you, or have I now got the wrong end of the stick? -
Disagree - he has a two year deal, so reckon he will stick it out at LFC and then possibly retire. He of all people should have realised that his "dream come true" wasn't going to turn out to be a dream. I see on RAWK, that amongst the meltdown on there, some are calling for him to start the next game. Brenda has replaced Suarez with Lambert and Balotelli!!!!!! While the further improvement of Sterling helps off set the loss of Suarez, Lambert and Balotelli don't. I still don't quite understand why they signed Lambert in the first place. I think he was as surprised as anyone else. From our perspective, the worst thing about this, is that it was seized upon by the media as part of the exodus and possibly helped sow the seeds of doubt in some at the club. While they won't admit it, it certainly looks like Liverpool have done a Spurs. Now we got about the same amount of money as both of them, spent just over half of it, and seemingly have come out stronger than when we went in, ie we have not done a Spurs. I realise that LFC had the CL to contend with, but the transfer policy has been really hit or miss and now Brenda is taking it out on the players - Balotelli and Couthino last night. What with the captain also chipping in, I wonder if there is a danger that the dressing room will be lost.
-
I think Lallana looks class and will do well there, if he stays injury free. It helps that he is more skillful than those around him and can playing a role where others fit around him like he did for us last season. Lovren - don't really give a **** about and hope he fails. Doing a good job at that. Rickie, well I hope he got a nice fat contract. As they say on RAWK, not sure why signed if only going to be given 5 minutes a game. Would rather him than Balotelli.

Oh dear. Liverpool let one in

Why? You might have noticed that the commonality is that they happened this season. If you want to go into the past, then neither stack up to Danny Wallace's goal. Or some of MLTs. So no, it shouldn't be the "real debate", that's just being ridiculous.
-
No - I think if it was goal bound, and an outfield player handled in the same place, then he would also get sent off.

I see a big difference between Clyne and Jagielka. Jag's just saw it coming to him and hit it first time. It could have ended up anywhere but fair does to him, it curled away from the keeper and was unstoppable. Clyne, obviously took a touch to control it and I am sure that the back spin on the ball helped him.
