This season being as good as it gets....IF (and that might be a big if or not) we keep the squad and strengthen a bit, then I see no reason why we shouldn't improve. I know that there are a hell of a lot of "should haves" or "could haves" in this, but given the amount of possession we have we should have won a lot more games than we did. Maybe things even themselves out over the season, but I do think that the non-signing of a decent striker was a problem this season, and to that end, Osvaldo ****ed us up with his petulance. So the "should have" won games.... Sunderland at home and away +4 Norwich away +3 WHU home +3 Villa home +3 Spurs away +3 Cardiff home +3 etc etc. Maybe even both ManC and Arsenal at home. As I say, things do even themselves out over the season. I also realise that all supporters see things through rose tinted glasses and see most games that they haven't won as "should have" won games. I am not really thinking that we should have got another 20+ points, more that we could have and the margin for not getting them was pretty small. If we had won those games, would it have been a surprise? Experience and depth of squad (to cover injuries) played their part.

Is £20m a joke? Things might have changed in a Bosman-esque way of sorts. FFP rules mean that clubs do have to think about how much they spend (or rather, most clubs do) so maybe the days of the vastly over priced transfer is over. Maybe not - I guess time will tell, and the rich will get richer, while the poor just look on and help support these "elite" clubs make even more money.

Which to me says that he is not fully committed to us any more although I realise others might not agree.

Well I was going to sign it (maybe) but with that attitude, you can in the politest way go **** yourself. Boils down to the fact that it isn't your company and you are but a customer. If you don't like the way the company is run and the product on offer, then don't give them your money. And of all the away fans at SMS this season, I think that Cardiff must have ranked as the most unattractive.

Coupled to that the need for 8 players in your 25 man squad needing to be home grown, then it is obviously going to increase the value of the better English players.

A week is a long time in politics - and even longer in football.

Frankly speaking, it would be nice to hear something from someone. I don't really care whether it is Reed or Krueger. We may not be very important in the scheme of things, but having spent the best part of £1500 on renewing a pair of season tickets, it would be nice as a customer to know what I have spent my money on.

QPR had 80% possession in the first 10 mins of 2nd half - seems only a matter of time until they score

Reckon that by the start of the new season the only senior player we will have left is Osvaldo, so that's the captain.

England World Cup Squad - Lambert, Lallana and Shaw included

Rickie must be in dreamland. Who would have thought that he would have got so far? Good luck to him, and I hope he gets a kick and a goal out there. -
Except both Borussia and Shalke are in the CL next season.

So what's the point of competing then, if there is no chance of winning? PL is boring, predictable as to who fills the top 6 or 7 spots. Let's face it, it's 4+3+the rest. I've enjoyed this season, but my enthusiasm for PL football is fast waning. The rich get richer, and who cares about the rest? It's ridiculous also that the PL, us included, get so much money to the detriment of lower leagues and grass roots. First thing I would like to do is slap a 5% surcharge (hell, why not make it 10%?) on any player signed from overseas and hope that so much money stops leaving the English game to benefit other leagues.

He obviously won't be going to Utd for CL footie next season, so could happily stay at Saints, get more experience and move next season if Utd get to CL. And maybe he doesn't want to go there. As is always mentioned, Chelsea is the club he likes. Cole's ankles are packing (or have packed) up. I find it tiresome that just because a club the stature of those wanting our players have put a bid in, that they think that they have the player in the bag. All I wish is for whatever is going to be done (confirmed anyone is going or staying) very quickly as I can't stand reading all the bull's hit in the papers.

Fantastic right foot.

Wigan's crowd is even more pathetic. 0-0 at HT

If there is no point discussing something we have no control over, then we might as well just talk about whether we are going to buy a ticket or not. As for selling AL, say he does go for £20m, less agents fees, sell on clauses, VAT, anything else, then we would have to sign a replacement say £10m+ plus signong on fees, agents fees, VAT and anything else, I wonder how much there would actually be left to push on?? And investing like Norwich - you'll have to explain that one!!
-
Gutted!! No thanks. Not worth the risk and a risk it really is. Might as well over pay on someone like Ings and still have some change.
-
Aah yes - seem to have missed that bit!

where was the sectarianism??
-
But what is the point of the academy? Is it only to supply players for the senior squad, or is it also to develop players to sell on for large profits? If it is the latter, then we have to expect to sell players and when it happens not complain about it however much we want to keep them. If it is the former, then the Club need to come out and show the ambition in order to keep them. I guess we will find out over the next few months what sort of business it is.

If player says "yes" and club says "no", that tends to lead to interesting situations.

we'll see. as been mentioned MLT didn't move for that reason. Many players don't go to certain clubs for family reasons. Can I ask whether you have a wife and kids,? Not saying that he is not going to move, just that there are no football considerations to take into account. To think otherwise would be being naive. Some people are not wholly nummamorous.
