  1. Yes, maybe, but as I asked, what about his wife & kid? There are some things more important than playing for Liverpool and CL and family is one of those things. We all know, Saints isn't as famous as Liverpool, but we aren't some tin pot club. We pay decent wages - so Liverpool might offer £20-30k a week more, but I hardly think his wage at SFC is so bad that he has to leave. He can break into the England squad at SFC so that doesn't seem a problem at present. So maybe it is a question of family vs CL, as well as depending on the ambition of SFC. And it'snot like Liverpool are guaranteed CL every year.
  2. http://www.redcafe.net/threads/adam-lallana.389871/page-5 Red Cafe usually has some sensible posters (and not just Man U ones) but the mongs are really posting on there about AL.
  3. Does the new Mrs Lallana and her kid want to live in Liverpool?
  4. Is there any such thing as tapping up anymore?
  5. A lot of people want a lot of things.
  6. Isn't there some huge fine lingering should they get promoted? £50m for having loses of £65m.
  7. I still think that the play offs are ridiculous dreamt up by greedy suits trying to squeeze every last drop out of the game. FFS they have played 46 games to decide the league. If they have to stay, I would change things and say that if any team was 10 points or more behind 3rd place, then they would not be included in the play offs. That would exclude both Wigan & Brighton from this years POs leaving Derby and Wigan to decide it. I don't know what the biggest gap between 3rd and 6th is, but presume a lot more than the 13 points this season, and I am not sure how many 6th places get promoted.
  8. Out of interest, why do you call them bigots?
  9. This might be of interest to you or others https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVPngzSE94o#t=376
  10. Kid! That's a good one. Maybe you should learn to read. If you want to be a dhimmi so be it.
  11. I agree with those who say that objecting to the method of slaughter is not the problem with a lot of people. Let's face it, most people have no idea how their meat is produced or slaughtered and just see it in a cellophane wrapper in the supermarket. But there are two points that some might consider important, or not as the case may be. Firstly, some see it as the furtherment of Sharia in the West. Personally I do not want to live in a Sharia state, and at present there is no danger that this will be the case in this country. But, if I lived in somewhere like East Ham, Malmo, Brussels then I am sure that I would think very differently. Secondly, there is the "halal tax". Part of the halal certification calls for zakat to be paid, which then (supposedly!!) ends up with the likes of the Muslim Brotherhood. Kosher doesn't fund terrorism at least not beneath state level.
  12. It's almost worth buying TalkSport (and the Daily Mail) just to sack Durham (and Guff)
  13. Kevin Keegan Davies Moore Bond
  14. Tommy Traynor Mulgrew Allen Bowman
  15. Ali Daei Retired now. Best season was prob 98/99 where his club, Bayern Munich, won the Bundesliga, Was on the bench when Bayern lost CL final to Man U. Then there is the wonderfully named Turkish keeper Ufuk Ali. I am sure that there are some other Ali's out there, but for the life of me I can't think of any!!
  16. Is there a (free) programme that I can download to see which device is using what bandwidth? I have a BT Business Hub 3
  17. I see that Poyet is not overly happy at Sunderland and is going into talks. If MP goes, I hope we don't get him!! But as I say, for a coach (rather than an out and out manager), Southampton must surely be quite an attractive job. Who else puts such emphasis or has such success at bringing players through their academy?
  18. Posted this last week!!! Anyway, DM seem to think it's a done deal (again) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2621904/Tottenham-target-Mauricio-Pochettino-replace-Tim-Sherwood-approach-Southampton-boss-immediately-final-Premier-League-game.html
  19. I read it then realised it was Dune's rubbish so gave it no further thought.
  20. Why? From Wiki So them having a tweetie bird is no different than us having a halo over a football is it?
  21. Having always thought how good it was and how those calling for a change were wrong, I have changed my mind and think it looks old fashioned and naff. When looking at what dross has been written here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/index.html I scroll down to see all the crests, and ours (to me at least) looks out of place and a bit infantile.
  22. Like others, hate the idea. It shows what is wrong with football. While others have included us in the rich clubs, I don't think that is fair. We blood our youngsters in the 1st team. Chelsea and Man City might well bleat on about their youngsters not being able to get game time, but whose fault is that? The PL/FA have to decide what they want from football in this country. PL want to be able to sell their product and give scant regard to the development of youth, as those teams at the top have fewer English players than they should. PL bosses are happy that the big names get bought in - makes their job easier to sell in China. And these B teams - say there are 10 from PL - what happens to the bottom 10 in the 2nd Division? Do they get kicked out? Without a stable base, the pyramid that is football is not sustainable, and introducing B teams is another chipping away of the base. Surely the responsibility actually lies with the players. If they sign for a big club but miss out on game time, whose fault is that? There was a story of an 18yo player at Chelsea on something like £20k a week. Money, money, money. Wonder whether we will ever see him grace the PL? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2605028/Meet-Andreas-Christensen-18-year-old-Chelsea-defender-20-000-week-never-played-team-wont-time-soon.html
  23. More dross: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/next-tottenham-manager-roberto-martinez-3499900 But if you believe that, and that Spuds had been courting MP, then it might suggest MP telling them "no". But that does rely on believing all these rumours. Having said that, the amount of money spent on Staplewood and the fact that the Chairman (I think it was him) said that the Club wanted to bring through youngsters and that the manager would not be blamed for things if they weren't immediately successful, is a fairly good backing for a manager who wants to be a coach/manager. By that, there seem to be some managers who want to bring through youngsters and create top players, and there are others who want to buy the ready product. For the former, is there a better club to be at than Saints?
  24. Osvaldo's
  25. Yup - much better under Wilson and Callaghan!!! Strewth, some people have short/selective memories.
