Can someone recap which strikers we actually have fit and/or available? As well as maybe the defensive midfield?
-
Seems to be a real lack of consistency in the punishments handed out.
-
Are we desperate for cash or is that just conjecture on this forum? It might also be an image we portray, which is a sensible one, so as not to be ripped off more than usual. Of course, it might also be true.

Manolo Gabbiadini: Joins Sampdoria - Official
angelman replied to Portugalsaint's topic in The Saints
Sure, some appreciate in value, some don't. You always hope that they do. But it isn't a guarantee, especially when they aren't very good. Carillo - I think let's wait and see with him, and cross that bridge later on. He of course was very much over priced, although I see transfermarket saying he has a value of €15m, which I think is pretty generous. But Gabbi has appreciated over the value left on his contract which of course is not what you were wanting/hoping for. You were wanting him to have appreciated over the initial purchase price. I get that. It's nice when it happens, but not every player is a van Dijk. Personally I think it pretty good price, and I don't see it as a loss (while realising why you do). -

And you think we got 2 years free use out of him? On the other thread about him, I pointed out that the £14m spread over 4½ years works out at £3.1m a year so the remaining value of the contract is £7.7m. The response to that was that he isn't a 2nd hand car!! -
Nah Verlaine, you make a fundamental mistake in not including the value we have already had out of him. He signed for £14m on a 4½ year contract, so that is £3.1m a year. So with 2½ years remaining that comes to £7.7m while we are selling at £3m more than that.

Hesketh and Flannigan join Burton Albion on loan

Glad that it wasn't 10-0 -
Shocking that the old owner, treated the club like a business. (God knows what the new owner is thinking?)

FFP is oft trotted out. Question I have about it is how Fulham can drop £100m net, and seemingly are going to do more this up coming window?
-
About that mark. 42 I think someone said, but that surely changes every window. Of course I wasn't being serious, just pointing out that we are loaning out too many of our multi-million pound players. Classie, Boufal, Carillo and now maybe Gabs.
-
We'll shortly have more players out on loan than Chelsea.
-
Ah ha. Just had Jermain Jenas say, in respinse to 3 players being born post 2000, how wonderful it is that LFC still produce young talent and have a manager who gives them an opportunity.
-
But seriously, the biggest question is ....... was Wolves' light show better than ours?
-
He's such a great manager blooding young talent like he is doing.
-
Don't agree with Wolves' ball boy drying the ball for their player to do the long throw. Ref should stop it being done.

Is it arrogance, or is it "lost in translation"? The Dutch (and of course this is a gross generalisation) can often to me come across as being arrogant when in reality it is just the way they speak English. I'm not a linguistics expert, but maybe what is normal in Dutch comes across as arrogant in English.
-
I'm happy enough with a loan, rather than a sale (and who knows what the terms are re his wages?). 6½ years of fantastic service should be rewarded in this way, and not everything should be about making £1 or two. Wishing him all the success with the rest of his footballing career and beyond.
-
I would also add that they omit the fact we had a reluctant owner.

If you look at the stats, he is even less effective than Shane Long. His arrival produced some real expectations from him, but he was flattering to deceive. As I keep on pointing out, he has never scored more than 8 goals in a league season. That is a shocking return for a centre forward. He might have made the Italian national team, but that team didn't make it to the WC finals. -
Derby v Saints (FA Cup - 3rd Round) Build Up and match thread

I guess a draw (if we get one) means a replay and another game for Hoj to be out for, or do replays not count? -

Southampton FC fan base, an embarrassment to the club.

You forgot to add all the "dinlos" who constantly sing about Pompey, even though we last played them in April 2012. -
I see Leganes have taken Martin Braithwaite from Boro on loan for the rest of the season. Does this have any affect on Carrillo?
