Yes, as well as the stunning victory against B&HA in the 2nd Round. (ie inc Cup games, hence why Puel has 45 games for the season he was here)

It seems we might be playing a rather risky game of there being 3 teams worse than us.

Why on earth do you think she cares about who she sold to, given that he was the only chump perpared to stump up £210m for 80%?
-
Ballox. Absolutely nothing pathological about it. We had the whole of last season that was as sh1te as this, and a lot of the season before that. Now you say we should endure it for another month. And its cost me about £2500 for the pleasure. So **** you telling us we are unreasonable

Fair enough that they want him to work, but 1 win in 21 says that it isn't going to.

Hughes personifies dead cat bounce. I was taken in and thought he could do a job, but unless I am mistaken, he is statistically our worst ever (full time) manager.
-
Are you suggesting he might take over from Hughes?

The ‘worst’ Premier League XI of the season so far

I'm surprised there are only 2 on there! -
If FF can regain his confidence, and if we can recoup some outlay, then it seems win all round. Even if he goes on to be brilliant (and I hope he does), its still win all round, as he isn't doing anything with us at the moment, nor the foreseeable future with McArthy and Gunn in place.

True. But let's not be naive about it, it is a political move, which to me always comes across as fairly shallow and paying hollow platitudes to the PC brigade. Will Saints honour Christians killed around the world because they follow their religion? I very much doubt it - not huge mileage in that for the self righteous self-congratulatory slap on the back. Or Muslims around the world? After all the poor Uyghurs and Rohingya have had tens of thousand killed. Probably not as there seems a overly selective process involved. Out of interest, and its not a competition to see who has had the most killed - far from it, how many Trans people have been murdered? It's all well and good putting up a flag to remember those that have been killed, but it would be nice to know some actual details. Not giving details and just putting up a flag seems disingenuous to the plight of the trans community.

I thought it was the flag of Costa Rica to start with.

Love his spat with Ramos. Really hope Ramos tweets some to give it a good stir.

Saints to give £250,000 to Gift to Richard Scudamore

Incorrect. This was a "suggestion" by Bruce Buck (another foreigner who is infiltrated the PL), not a diktat from PL. -

Not that I think anyone could possibly be in any doubt, but this demonstrates that football is first and foremost a business. As a business model, he's done pretty well for the clubs so there is nothing particularly strange with the £250k request (and at least there wasn't a golden parachute for the new woman). But the problem here is the somewhat dichotomous view of football from those that run clubs and the supporters. We supporters, while we realise it (PL esp) is pretty much nothing but business these days, still hold on to the sporting side of it. I think we always will. We grew up with it. In the garden, in parks, at school, etc etc. We can see that the PL rakes in all the money, and even with their meagre downward payments, that nothing filters down to the grass roots (or rather not enough). We can see a man doing a good job and being very well remunerated. We cannot understand why he needs a golden handshake when he has decided to retire from the job. If he was on £60k a year rather than £2.5m then maybe. Football is a unique business, not least because of the relationship with supporters and the local community. This £5m payment is something so alien to supporters, that it causes revulsion. It would have been much better to have increased his pension, whatever that might be, although the payment will go through, supporters will chunter about it, life will carry on and we'll go back to taking what we are given, or leaving the "sport". I do think that the PL should be a little careful, as there does seem to be a lot of discontent amongst supporters about the state of things. Stadia are still largely full (not SMS), so things are likely to carry on. But it won't take much for attendances to fall. So many people think that the PL is so wonderful as we have 6 teams competing at the top, while many other leagues have 1 or 2. Yes that's great if you support one of the 6, but boring as hell if you don't. -
Love this bit from the article....."... that leaves Ralph Krueger in charge of all footballing matters... "

Spot on. UA if push comes to shove, would drop Saints in a second rather than the US hunting lobby. I don't think people realise how much money the hunting lobby has. Going back to the Outdoor Channel in USA, that does all things hunting etc. If the 35.8m subscribers pay $100 a year, that is an income of $3.58 billion for just one subscription TV channel. Then there are others, magazines, internet, etc etc.
-
In USA, the Outdoor Channel had 35.8m TV subscriptions (as of 2015). IIRC the subscription is something like $100 a year. And that is but one subscription channel, in one country. Now compare to the number of Saints supporters around the world. Who do you think is more important to UA?

And? They are paid to train and perform on the pitch. They might do the former, but they have been doing a pretty poor job of the latter.
-
And it wasn't yesterday vs them?
-
To give the appearance/impression that all is well?? In all honesty, with the attendance vs Watford, I was amazed it was so high.

I voted "undecided". The Koeman years were the best that we have had. I still think that he, like the rest of the club, had one hand tied behind his back due to the owners' wishes. But Pellegrino - WTF was that appointment? One that has taken us hugely backwards and we haven't recovered from. Not least as he spunked £20m away on Carillo, when instead he should have sacked the manager.
