True, so part time supporters get to go to this game at half the price of a ST holder. Bit strange. Me, if they want to fill seats, I would do kids for a quid.
-
Have to agree that there was no way in hell that there were near 7000 empty seats for those games. That's about 22% of the total capacity. Wonder if the difference is down to the club talking about league only, and the police including cup games.
-
Saw the highlights. Boring football. Boring manager. Boring full stop. Seems another manager who chooses players for the wrong reason.
-
So eventually every club in the top league will be in one form of European competition or another. And then how big a step is it to full blown European leagues? So I'm with ericb's cynicism.
-
Out of interest, what part of the ground was that in?
-
They only lost 3-0 away to Slovakia last night. Interestingly I believe that 11-0 was shorter odds than 1-0!
-
TBH I think it brilliant. As I have absolutely no interest in it, I can just switch off. And it gives a break from the press and their Liverpool love in which I find so bloody tedious. So it gives a break from football for a couple of weeks which is great. And we have the final test vs India over the weekend.

Was in the Season Ticket holder's email.

Well that makes my ST look a bit ****ing over priced now doesn't it? I agree about trying to fill the ground, but you don't **** over your loyal customers to tempt in part timers. AS for getting a "free burger" I am afraid that I really do not like the food at the ground and would prefer to eat what I feed my dog. The bloke in front poisons his lad with a Pukka Pie every game and the smell of them is disgusting.

What's up with Clyne these days?

we are giving you the opportunity to bring up to two friends for a discounted £15 each when we play Brighton under the lights on Monday 17th September. As a thank you, if you bring a friend you will receive a £6.50 food and beverage voucher! Find out how to claim below - the offer expires on Monday 10th September at 23:59. #WeMarchOn _____________ Well that's great, but where do my 2 friends sit, given that there are no spare seats around me? And why should my friends get a discount, when my ST costs an average of £39 a game. It's not like you can turn around to your mate and say, right, my ticket is £39, yours is £15 and you have to sit in the wings and pay me £27 as that is half £39+£15. As it is, I am bringing a friend as my son can't use the 2nd season ticket. Not one of the greatest ST Exclusive offers I've ever seen. It's of little benefit to a ST holder really, as a £6.50 food and beverage voucher doesn't get you very far.

Plenty of parking less than a mile from the ground where the park and ride is. If no park and ride, shank's pony. As it is, not a game I would make a great effort to go to. Having said that, if it was at SMS, I would likely go, just to escape the nagging from the Mrs.

Maybe Batman, but that won't stop him being picked for the national side.

Oooops - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6129565/West-Ham-shell-15m-Manuel-Pellegrini-axe-woeful-start.html - LOL (if true)

This. And I am not sure many criticised the club for tying him down to a new contract. Maybe I am wrong, and the invariable thread will show it to be otherwise. But yes, it APPEARS that he isn't in a great place at the moment, but what's to stop him recovering to where he was? Why not give him a sabbatical for a few months, to get away from the PL. Go train/play in USA, Australia or somewhere. Somewhere where there is no pressure. Somewhere maybe where a sports psychologist can help as well. As a club, it is in the best interests to get him up and running again.
-
Of course we can leave him do nothing. But after a while he would go a bit potty. Idle hands...... As for coaching, it was just trying to be pragmatic. Give him a purpose. Maybe even get his confidence growing. Seems that most people here think he should just turn up, catch a ball or two, collect his wages and go home...for the next 4 years, seeing as he isn't likely to be moving anywhere. Or if he isn't part of the plan, why even bother get him to come in?
-
OK we have Forster on our books. His confidence is shot. He is not seemingly in the plans. He's 30 with 4 years left on his contract. So what do you do with him in a pragmatic way, both to help him to help us. Move him from being a player to a player/coach? Would that work at all? The problem as a goalie is that you are so much more in the spot light, and it might appear to all that his confidence is shattered. I believe that often gets exacerbated when you are dropped, but it had to be done. The stats bear out that McCarthy is one of the top keepers in the league. I see Garth Crooks' usual ridiculous team of the week (Rui Patricio in goal) and he writes.... Did you know? Patricio has saved 50% of the 'big chances' he has faced in the Premier League this season (two from four). Only Petr Cech (75%), Neil Etheridge (71%) and Alex McCarthy (56%) have a better percentage in the division. We can't just leave him doing nothing for the rest of his contract.

My fantasy (while retaining some realism) 3 for relegation are Wet Spam, Wolves and Fulham.
-
I think open play rather than a penalty. Anyway, Real are now 4-1 up
-
I'm sure Pellegrino is a perfectly good manager. Sometimes the glove just doesn't fit, and it didn't with us. I am not sure you would find anyone saying we would have survived last season with him. Carrillo is interesting. Maybe after he bangs in 20 goals this season, he can come and do a job for us.
-
Did we play today?? I just heard talkSport running through the sports headlines and they mentioned every other game, but not us.
-
I thought it quite obvious what it was about and I happen to agree. We find ourselves in a league where it is a risk to develop and bring through your own players, so instead everyone goes out and buy players in. We all know that. Some find it OK, some don't. Me I'm in the latter camp. But to accuse Hughes of being a dinosaur is a wee bit strange.
-
I agree that there could be a bit more respect shown. As an aside, I do recall when signing him, Celtic supporters were more than OK with Gordon staying.
-
Far too complicated when OWTS and "Wash your mouth out Son" are the limit of most people. My lad was a bit surprised last night with "Mark Hughes's Red Army" as it did sound like "Fu** You Red Army"
