I'm intrigued. Starter...one who a bigger club came sniffing (the Fonte thing). Mario??
-
So those not in the squad....Yoshi, Davies, Long, Sims, Targett, McQueen, Gallagher, Reed, I can imagine that Yoshi comes back from a relatively successful WC and expects to push on. Maybe that is the reference to doing a Fonte. Doesn't seem to be in his nature, but who knows what happens behind closed doors. Targett? Being denied a move?

How about getting rid of draught and going for (plastic) bottles like they do with the cider? That would cut out the time needed for pouring. Having said that, that might not be the only problem. I did have a hot dog from the concourse last season, and the boy doing it had no sense of urgency what so ever and was ridiculously slow - not like the van outside the Northam who can serve your order very quickly. I suspect because he was so slow, the people behind me would either have given up or missed KO.

Good on you. I happen to agree with you, that it is **** poor to offer a service that is not fit for purpose, not least as it doesn't help the coffers. I guess the real difference is that if I saw a queue that long, I wouldn't even join it. I hope in a couple of weeks, you won't be so inconvenienced with getting your refreshments at half time.

Possibly, last time as a ST holder (but as I acknowledged I say that most years). But no, it doesn't bother me. Just more curious as to a) why people have to have a beer at the football and b) why you would queue up for so long for such a nasty beer out of plastic (which just makes it eve nastier) while paying far too much for the "pleasure". Having said that, I am also surprised that people drink lager so much in pubs and homes. I guess if you are happy with ****y beer, who am I to say otherwise. Hypo says because he hadn't seen some people for a while. Do you have to have a beer to do that? I'm not going to go into the bit about coming to SMS to watch football rather than drink beer, but some around me leave at half time 5 minutes early and get back 5 mins after the 2nd half starts, and then leave 5 mins before the game ends, thus missing over 15% of the game, as they are of course entitled to do what they want, when they want. Just seems a strange thing to do when what is on offer is so nasty. If you say so, but if you fail to recognise a bit of sarcasm, that is your wont.

Isn't this a strikers thread? Would suggest it is one not in the squad yesterday. Long?

Maybe the problem was that Hoedt was brought in and expected to be the leader of the backs. It seems some players don't play so well being the leader. I think Vestergaard showed that he might be OK with that role, and if so, maybe that will "free up" Hoedt. Of course this might be complete and utter ballocks.

Now this is the pertinent bit. I think our last 2 managers persevered with a system that didn't work for too long and were too inflexible. You can take a horse to water, but if it isn't going to drink there's no point flogging it. I'm guessing/hoping that Hughes has been around the PL for long enough to know to be flexible.

Disagree. In the first half, when Cedric decided he was centre forward and Burnley broke, who was back defending in the Itchen/Chapel corner by the corner flag? (But agree with that saying).
-
Queuing for over 20 minutes when half time is 15. Seems that many people come to SMS for the beer, so I guess the club is doing something right.
-
He seemed to have pace, but I wonder whether that was deceptive in that he used his brain and was always seeming on the move and moving into new spaces?
-
I'm with OldNick on this one. Redmond is one of the few players we have who will run at a player with the ball. Lemina will to a certain extent but he seems to twist and turn players on his shoulder rather than run directly at them. Ings seems he might do it as well, but not at the same level Redmond does.
-
While we are talking about Vester, just a mention to Hoedt for a brilliant sliding tackle down in the Kingsland/Chapel corner. Maybe 4, 5 and 6 can give each other confidence and be greater than the sum of their parts....maybe.

Why anyone wants to queue for 20.mins for over priced ****y beer has always been a mystery. Can't you wait until after the game? Are you really that much of a dipsomaniac that you have to have a beer at half time?
-
He needs to know when to release the ball. Good today, but at times held on for too long.
-
He had quiet periods and was virtually anonymous in those dreadful first 20. I would be happier to have had PEH on.
-
For me , on today's evidence, it is Gabbi/Ings.
-
Monday week. But good that he is banging them in.
-
I'm bored rigid by this game.

Fair enough penalty really, wasn't it?

Man Utd 2-0 Leicester Newcastle 0-2 Spurs Bournemouth 2-0 Cardiff Fulham 1-2 Palace Huddersfield 0-3 Chelsea Watford 1-0 Brighton Wolves 1-2 Everton Liverpool 2-0 West Ham Saints 4-1 Burnley Arsenal 1-3 Man City

Aye, it's always best to get both sides of a story rather than just the one. As it is, Fulham signing 12 players is a bit silly really. Brighton did 13. Wolves 11. West Ham 10. Huddersfield 9. Is that really a good way of doing things?
-
Obligation - the condition of being morally or legally bound to do something. There's a big difference between morally bound and legally bound.
-
Exactly. Of all the signings we have made over the years, this is one that I would like to know the terms probably more than any other.
-
I'm not sure any of us know the terms of the deal. A lot of conjecture......
