I think he looks alright. But on the other hand, Armstrong......!!
-
Things can change on such small margins..... Take last night. If Gallagher had pulled back the ball rather than go for goal from a ridiculous angle, then we might be thinking differently. If Redmond had come on when Gabbi was still on the pitch, then who knows?

Stephens..... https://youtu.be/jEjH7UGIZaM?t=108 - this sums it up for me. The whole play he is dreadful. I am always keen to defend all our players, especially when they come up through the ranks. With Stephens, I am not sure at present that he is the grade required for a CB. I would push him forward a bit as a DM, as he can carry the ball forward.

Just back. A dreadful match which I guess a win is better than losing.
-
Would have been impressed if he had named the subs as well.
-
Burger and chips much better than at SMS.

OK then, so if it isn't a stupid idea, think I'll be doing that too.

What about parking in Brighton and catching a train to Falmer?

I'm a supporter of Long, but yesterday was shockingly bad.

Think I saw Sky advertising a price boost from 4/1 to 6/1 for Spurs, Leicester and Everton to all home win.
-
Apparently 2 home bankers today with Ladbroke (I think that talksport said it was them) - Spurs and Everton.

Sure. We might have, we might not have. Who knows how hard we tried? Who knows what Wolves offered? I'm afraid that "losing out" to competitors for academy players doesn't really get me too bothered. I find it almost like the club signing the player (us included) likes to crow about how wonderful they are as some sort of PR exercise, regardless of what the actual facts are. If and when he makes the Wolves first team in 2 or 3 or more years time we can all go on about "what if".

#LaLiga and RELEVENT partner to promote soccer in the US and Canada.
angelman replied to Saint IQ's topic in The Saints
This is true.....but only if part of the regular season. If it was a 39th game, who plays who? The idea is that it has to be meaningful as fans aren't as interested in meaningless friendlies. It would be more interesting to see what reaction would be garnered from a ManU/Liverpool game being held in USA. Who exactly is going to benefit from all this? I suspect not the loyal supporter who trundles a long to the grounds in England, week in week out. And if we start mucking about playing games all over the world, how long will it then be before Celtic and Rangers join the PL. You start mucking about with what you have, you might as well carry on and totally muck things up. Or is that a bit too fanciful? -

I listened to talkSport pontificating about this game, and they were all saying it will be a big boy playing against a lesser team who can offer them a decent match, rather than el Classico. Not the best clubs playing each other. The arrogance was amazing - some little club doing Real/Barca and the TV companies a favour. Their biggest match shipped overseas and **** the local fans who may or may not be ST holders, while the big boys keep their biggest games in Spain. Horrendous greed pandering to arm chair supporters who might see "their" team once in their life. Screw those who actually live in and around where the club comes from and go week in, week out. -

Totally disagree with you. I think the evenness of competition is more important than the quality of player. I enjoy my lad's school football more than some PL games. -
St G, I suspect it has something to do with his age

The one thing I don't buy, is that players have to have big wages because their career is short. It might well be short, but it doesn't preclude them from getting another job after they hang their boots up. Someone like Armstrong has a law degree - that's someone players should look up to.
-
Don't forget the historical bit UEFA want as well, to help those larger teams (Italians!!) that have fallen a little by the way.
-
Vest for me. Close but maybe as it was his debut in a new league......

If you cannot provide a ground to host your match, then you should play your home match at your opponents ground. eg last season, we should have played West Ham at SMS twice, not changed it to suit them and their arrangements.

The so called experts premiership predictions for 2018/2019
angelman replied to Pilchards's topic in The Saints
This century of all the CL places available, only 4 have gone to non Big 6 sides. Everton, Leicester and Newcastle x2. Hardly a massive improvement. -
Pertinent question is to why he is out of contract?
-
Most clubs Mourinho ends up at seem to be in turmoil. Currently, if the papers are to be believed, Pogba is one. Martial another. Rashford possibly too. Shaw seems to be remarkably patient with a manager who has treated him fairly shoddily (whether justified or not, to do it in public is poor).

So Dalek, what is your prediction this season? And then we can hold you to it - either acknowledging your outstanding prescience and sagacity or as a complete bull's hitter -
I think out of contract players can be signed whenever.
