Looks like we are back to being the wholly unfancied club we once were. Which I am fine with if it means more Sat 3pm KOs.
-
Mané certainly was not a star when he came. Can you not remember the clamour about what a waste of space he was?? And get real. We are a club that cannot by polished diamonds. We buy them rough cut as that is what we can afford. The value is in our polishing them and selling to bigger clubs.
-
No, that was under the last owner who wanted the club to tread water and used player sales to do that, while the sale of the club was trying to be concluded.

You need to pull your head out of your arse. Momentum with Kat?? We got lucky while she tried her hardest to sell us. -

Had a great day with the family on a beach, with no one else to bother us. Nice Bbq. -
I can't get myself enthused over the forthcoming season, and would happily accept a refund for the Burnley game if the STs don't come.

The so called experts premiership predictions for 2018/2019

18, 14, 12 , 13, 15 - someone is likely to be right. I thought the one having Wet Spam in 18th as being interesting given the amount they have spent. -

The PL has an illusion of being competitive because 6 teams fight for 4 places. Other leagues often have 1 or 2. Some have 3. But that doesn't make it a level playing field as its 6 vs 14. It might be more level at the top for more teams, but the difference between the 6 and the 14 is huge. Everton tried to bridge the gap last season and failed dismally. Wet Spam seem to be doing it this season (I guess the benefit of having an unfair advantage with regards the stadium). I fully expect them to fail as well. -
Now I am wondering who might become our Nº1 & 2. McCarthy is better than FF at present (given that FF is suffering a lack of confidence), so when he took over last season, it seemed like he was brilliant. But is he? He is certainly more competent but is he a really good keeper? He let in lots of goals, even with a defence short on confidence. Gunn is still young, and we aren't the sort of club to splurge £15m on a reserve keeper, even if we have give McCarthy an extension.

Deserve is a strange word to use. I would love a wage cap of £20k a week to be brought in. Its hardly going to stop your lad from playing. "Look son, you're only going to be paid £1m a year max!" "Nah, can't be bothered to get out of bed for that". But I realise that this isn't going to happen, so the madness will carry on until the house of cards falls over, if it does. And TBH, I hope Palace get stung really badly for this. -
Why is there such a demand to sell Lemina?? If he reproduces performances like at Wembley, fair enough, but.....
-
VK, why do you think we sent him on loan? Was it to get experience for us to use, or to put him in the shop window for another PL club?
-
Maybe knowing he was off games, he went to see a friend in Manchester. Maybe he went to catch a show. Maybe he went to chat to another PL club. Who knows?

While I know players wages are reported to a huge varying degree, I read that Palace are to pay Meyer £170k a week!!! -

Who ever does the OS does a really **** job. The video player is embarrassingly bad. Maybe for those of you who have fibre optic, then it is OK. For me on my 8 Mbps, it is ****..

Assumption is the mother of all **** ups. Maybe he was going for their Superfood Salad and his Mrs was having a burger. -
There's a lot of CONJECTURE about what his wages are. You get the rather depressing miserable sods here saying £95k/100k. You have the less miserable sods saying £55k. I read in the papers it was £65k. (BTW the papers are also saying that Mané is to be offered a new £100k contract). Anyway, say that he does go to Burnley. The club could waive the loan fee if Burnley cover all the wages. Realistically, what would a club expect to pay for an emergency (as this is basically what it is)? They are going to pay more than less aren't they? What does a standard player get £40k? It might not be such a stretch to £65k or whatever he is on plus a loan fee. With regards selling, we initially signed him for £10m on a 4 year contract, and we have had 4 years from him. So from that angle he has not been a bad signing.

Funny Dalek, before Puel came, I am not sure that there were all these calls for Les to go. In fact, as you have no idea of his remit and whether his hands were tied, you cannot pass an objective opinion. We seem to have an awful lot of fair weather supporters who for some reason seem to think that our natural place in the PL is 7th or 8th.

Isn't he injured?

EBS, you are right to an extent, but the supposes that Gabbi is deemed not up to it. It seems that MP certainly didn't think he was. He did start Carillo every game after his arrival, and gave Gabbi little time. Maybe if Hughes can get him playing, he'll do us OK.
