  1. Tick tock. Worth remembering that PL window closes on August 9th, quite some time earlier than on the continent who are the traditional August 31st.
  2. Hazard to replace CR7?
  3. I wonder, in a sort of Machiavellian way, whether signing Gunn, a prospect by all accounts, is a way of putting pressure on FF to look elsewhere and get him off of our wage bill.
  4. It seems strange to get rid of a coach when he probably earns less in a year than Defoe does in a week. Defoe is supposedly on £20m over 3 years (inc signing on fee) is utter madness. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/may/23/jermain-defoe-to-join-bournemouth-20m-three-year-deal
  5. So West Ham have signed Diop for £22.5m and Fabianski for £7.5m. Signed Wishere on a free, so likely wages far in excess of £100k a week, and also Ryan Fredericks on a free. They're wanting to sign Anderson for £40m and lots of others at £25m. Added to this they want excessive amounts for the players they are trying to sell. Who is costing these transfers, is it David Dildo's son - the tweeting tw.at Jack?
  6. https://www.transfermarkt.com/danny-ings/verletzungen/spieler/134294 https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/11/02/liverpool-blow-as-danny-ings-ruled-out-for-rest-of-the-season/ Is it worth taking the risk? To me its not but it depends on price and terms of contract if he does break down again.
  7. Of course CB is a pretentious tosser. But after a while you realise that that is one of his endearing qualities, but obviously if you take him seriously/literally, you might view things differently. As for the crying bit, Chiefy, it actually looks like its you doing it. But hey, its a football forum populated (primarily) by nom de plumes and it really isn't worth getting your kickers in a twist over things.
  8. Don't know which publication the Fulham/Targett story ^ comes from, but it almost makes us out as being somewhat unreasonable for not selling to Fulham.
  9. Why should it be a reasonable amount? We have to try and make up for Carillo somehow!
  10. Far happier if this, Armstrong and Elyounoussi come to fruition vs West Ham's supposed £40m just on Anderson.
  11. Flying with time - OK. Flying against time - dodgy.
  12. Pickford has a hell of a kick on him.
  13. Glad I am at home rather than being bored senseless in some pub. The last time I got truly excited about England, with my pint ending up on the ceiling, was when Sol Campbell scored against Argentina (to have it ruled out). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O-lpT-b2g4
  14. Glad I'm not alone in thinking this (even with us having scored a goal).
  15. Even if we do manage a win here, I cannot see us beating Croatia, France or Belgium. To me, a Belgium/Croatia final with Belgium winning.
  16. Worth a £5m offer!?
  17. If he goes to LFC where does that leave Lallana?
  18. Hmmm. Not so sure. I think Belgium might do it.
  19. Ffs. Picking my lad up from Heathrow on 11/8.
  20. Maybe, but Mbappe is going to cost what - €250m? Long term I know, longer than Mané, and better. But he plays for his local team, gets paid well and suspect as well as he would at Madrid. Is going to win titles every year in France, and be quite competitive in CL. PSG > Real might be a tough transfer to complete, certainly harder than Liverpool > Real. But with FFP, its either Mbappe or Naymar. EDIT - I didn't realise he wasn't a permanent signing.
  21. What referees need to do, and so rarely actually do it, is call either one or both captains across, and give them a little talking to. If they do that, then authority is maintained/regained and there can be little complaint with subsequent punishments.
  22. Juve seem to ramping up a move for Ronaldo. £88m (or I presume €100m) for a 33yo is quite a lot!! Admittedly he is a physical freak and may be able to go on for more years than most, but still. Wonder then if Real will knock on Liverpool's door for Mané
  23. Couple of things to do with FF..... Pre-season is useful to see where he is. Yesterday might well have been an important display for the management team. It would have been harder for them maybe, if he had saved it. We need a back up keeper. We are looking supposedly at £15m for the Man City kid. They say that the wages is about the same as the signing fee over the period of the contract, say £55k over 5 years. Financially speaking, and presuming that we wouldn't be able to sell FF for very much, then it would make sense to keep him as back up keeper, rather than take a haircut on him and shell out big on another. Footballing wise though, this might not be the most appealing choice. Me, I'd definitely keep him and work on him. Maybe get in a shrink.
  24. Nor the ones from inside the penalty area.
  25. Redz is going to be massive this season. Not a very friendly friendly. You think the Germermans are a bit p*ssed that they are out of WC?
