  2. I would disagree with you to a certain extent. I think when KL was in charge, it was fairly clear she wasn't going to invest in the club. TBH that is quite refreshing, that a club should be run standing on its own two feet. Not the norm in football, and not likely to bring huge amounts of success. Over the past 2 years, according to trasnfermarkt... 2017/18 Arrivals - £55.26m Departures - £83.25m 2018/19 Arrivals - £56.03m Departures - 21.51m Near enough an even balance. So not sure the accusations of not spending are accurate.
  3. But I thought the general consensus was that he was crap and should be sold. I always said he needs to step up, and he seemingly has. Hope it can carry on and is not a flash in the pan.
  4. 1 unknown PL deal sheet in.....could it be us??
  5. Manager says he wants a squad of 18 senior players, and I believe that that is what we have. He also said now wasn't the time to do business but if something could be done, it would. So you either take him at his word, or call him a liar.
  6. So if we go with your view egg, one that I'm not wholly in agreement with, then Austin would be sub? Me, I would probably have Austin, with Long as sub. ie He still has a very important role at the club, even though many seem to want to just bump him out of the club.
  7. Well one of the red jets of flame didn't catch alight half the time, and just squirted whatever it was into the air.
  8. Who calls it Southampton INTERNATIONAL Airport?
  9. It's the hope that kills.
  10. So with the current centre forwards of.... ings Austin Long Gallagher Obafemi If Ings get's injured, who do you start with?
  11. Do people really think that the club and manager haven't thought things through?? The main spot causing concern is right back. So we have Valery, which is a ballsy move. But JWP deputised OK there. Yoshi has played there on a few occasions. Lemina sometimes played the odd game at RB while at Marseille. But playing 3 CBs and wing backs changes things a little for the need for an out and out full back, although I am sure many will disagree. I'll agree that its not ideal, but I', sure that the club have things under control and a clear plan.
  12. Of course they are. But **** me, Batman just whinges like a little girl the WHOLE time and its ****ing boring.
  13. When was the last time we started with a right back?
  14. Well if you were at the game last night, you might have seen that things seemed to be OK. Of course playing 3-5-2 means that RB is more a RWB, which if our preferred formation, things look to be OK. As has been mentioned, Lemina can also play there, as well as JWP. Going to a back 4 is a little trickier. But we get it. Whinge whinge ****ing whinge.
  15. RH says he wants a squad of 18 + youngsters. That is what I guess we will have. So what is important is to get Lemina and Bertrand back on games ASAP. Have those 2 available (and playing to their FULL abilities) and things will look a little different. The average PL wage is something like £45k a week, but let's call it for the sake of 18 rather than 25 players, £40k a week. That saves £14.5m a year + NIC etc etc, which makes financial sense, and if it is what the manager prefers, its win win.
  16. Put it this way, in 10 hours or so, it will be too late to worry about it. But on a serious note, look at Chelsea. They've splashed the cash, got a manager who seems lost, and are not a unit at all, albeit way up the table. All their fans seem to be doing is calling for even more spending. Spend spend spend. I looked at the starting XI vs LCFC and thought we were going to be absolutely hammered. But they did OK.
  17. Why does it look like that is what he has been told, as opposed to him choosing to do it? I love these forums, as there seem to be so many prescient members lurking about.
  18. I couldn't really see the angles from where I was sat, but how close was Armstrong to scoring, or rather how good a save was it?
  19. Bit unfair on the lad, recalling him when he had that big match vs Man City, to then send him out elsewhere. Not sure quite what that achieved.
  20. People tend to under rate Hodgson. He's a pretty astute manager, and although Palace blow a bit hot and cold at times, they are a dangerous side. It is easy to under estimate them due to their inconsistencies, but they are a pretty solid side.
  21. I can't see why wages would be a problem. If they were going to sign Sala for £15m, I am sure that we would accept a fair bit less, and the difference cold go to pay for his wages.
  22. He can't go on loan to Cardiff, as they already have their full loan quota from PL teams (apparently).
  23. Myself in Block 30 included.
  24. Right oh, trundled out of Soton and now back in with drink in hand. One question....why did no one pass the ball out to JWP when he was out on the right?
