  1. Edited it. Put can instead of cannot!!!!
  2. I'm putting this second half of the season to Ralph doing the best he can with what he has. At least it gives him a good grounding in the PL. His record still isn't too bad. Who knows what Brighton are going to do with their remaining games. Newcastle (H), Arsenal (A), Man City (H). 3 points behind us -5 GD on us. I cannot in all honesty see them overtaking us. Cardiff need to win 2 and draw 1 at the very minimum given they have a -18 GD on us. Fulham (A), Palace (H), Man U (A). I guess they could catch us if we don't get another win, but somehow I would be surprised if they get anything from Man U. Fulham players are in the shop window, and Palace are in a purple patch.
  3. So 6 points ahead of Cardiff with a massive GD.
  4. revised up to 7 seconds. Previous was 9.82 I think.
  5. 1 assist and the winner today, and quite a decent winner it was as well.
  6. What happens if Chelsea/Arsenal win Europa and Liverpool/Spurs win CL?
  7. No idea. Read it in the on line papers last week. Not sure which one. It was something like £5m for van Dijk and £10m for various other players. If the press say it, then it could be made up/wrong/embellished/accurate (you choose). EDIT - found it: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6206848/liverpool-southampton-virgil-van-dijk-sadio-mane-dejan-lovren-nathaniel-clyne-adam-lallana-champions-league-real-madrid/ (and it is a year old this one)
  8. Saints - survive. Don't mind about the rest TBH. I guess we should want Liverpool to do well (being pragmatic!!), as I believe if they win something we get £15m more
  9. This one wasn't too bad either. Nor his first for us vs Sunderland in the cup.
  10. We sometimes/often lack creativity. Boufal gave us some of that.... And let's not forget - https://www.premierleague.com/video/single/691993
  11. If I am honest, Boufal was one of the more interesting aspects of the games he played in. We had so much dross on the pitch, that his individuality was quite refreshing. He lost the ball, but unlike many people's thought, I always thought that he tried hard to win the ball back (and often did). If he comes back and puts a stint in, I will look forward to watching him.
  12. Not a bad shout. Was watching with my lad and we both thought that it really wasn't PL standard. B&HA were dreadful. Cardiff not that much better.
  13. If Boufal came back, wouldn't he be competing with Redmond for that spot out on the left (although Redmond plays a bit further up)? Who would you rather play there? Can't see him in a 5-3-2. Possibly in a 4-4-2 though.
  14. This rather sorry and very tawdry affair is still dragging on, but hopefully resolution will soon be coming. https://www.skysports.com/football/n...-sala-transfer
  15. wrong thread
  16. The most amazing stat is that he has won the same number of games that Hughes and Pellegrino did put together. He did it in 18, Hughes/Pellegrino in 52. My God, what dross we put up with!!
  17. West Ham must be kicking themselves for letting such a player slip through their hands.
  18. See Fonte scored the last goal in their 5-1 win over PSG.
  19. Hojbjerg.
  20. Seemed a tad harsh IMO.
  21. On the OS: https://southamptonfc.com/news/2019-04-10/live-premier-league-international-cup-semi-final-southampton-dinamo-zagreb-under-23s and supposedly on FB as well if you do that.
  22. Zagreb take a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute
  23. There's a general rule of thumb - whenever a newspaper's headline asks a question, the answer is "no".
  24. Used to work for a Japanese company and been over there a few times. Lovely country with some really good values (of course a generalisation), with respect, honour and pride in what you do still being at the fore.
  25. I sometimes went to Bournemouth in the mid-late '70s when Saints were away
