  1. I'm hoping for the progression this season to continue, so... 15th.
  2. Well don't change it then. Stick to what we have, rather than change for changes sake to something that is gash. Break the mould and keep a shirt for more than one season. As it is. we've never had a big slab of black on the home shirt, and it looks like a GPS bra that they use in training.
  3. The yellow one works best, but have to agree with your thoughts on the black bit on the home shirt. Simple fact is that we have always been red and white (with a small bit maybe of black as borders to the stripes or on the collar) on the home shirt, so why suddenly introduce a major bit of black? To me it looks like one of those GPS training bras.

you were, but ever since the "Southampton Way" nonsense was being bandied about, there is a lot more emphasis being put on "style" than substance. Or maybe we are just getting older. (And thank God we got rid of that ghastly song before KO - )
  5. I'm no clothes designer and I'm not in the market for a shirt either, but what they have come up with is complete and utter gash. So basically they have taken this seasons shirt, lost a couple of stripes and reversed the black and red bits above the stripes while adding a splash of white on the sleeve. Black is harsh and ugly. Fine on shorts and socks, but not on the collar bone/upper chest. I guess like most things, we'll get used to it, but a pretty **** poor effort (and I had to turn that ghastly launch video off, but then I guess it might be aimed at youngsters).
  6. Poor old Pompey. LOL
  7. I wish we could decide on a kit and just stick with it rather than go through the nonsense of changing it each year so as to try and extract every last penny out of loyal supporters.
  8. The problem with this is value. Fans also lack pragmatism and expect much more than what we sell for, not that that is hugely relevant. So he cost £19m on a 3½ year deal. You can look at things in anyway you want, but I view it that with 2 years left, that's £10.85m worth remaining. Being pragmatic, and accept a loss to shift him on, and maybe accept £8m?
  9. Agree. The bra one was all wrong, and could have been so much better if the top white bit was in red. But this one with the black shoulders, I don't think it too bad. Not so sure about the black collar, but it isn't too bad. Better than the 201/13 and 2013/14 ones (to refresh one's memory you can see here: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Southampton/Southampton.htm)
  10. https://www.premierleague.com/news/464747 Under the rules in the Premier League Handbook 2018/19 (Download PDF, size: 8.39MB), there are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/English clubs. They are: - Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time. - The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time. - Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window. - A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club Derby seem to have Wilson (Liverpool), Mount (Chelsea), King (Leicester) and Tomori (Chelsea) on loan. All but King (who is injured) started last night.

Why should she care? She got her £210m for 80% of us.
  12. The problem I see is, that if owners are going to be accused of racism (for it is they who sack the manager) then they might feel that it is just not worth the **** thrown at them, so not employ BAME in the first place. Darren Moore was intereviewed by the pious and sycophantic Jim White, and rather caught White off guard. Said the opportunities for BAME candidates were there, and not an issue. Also said that when fired, he was the same person who was employed ie skin colour not the issue.

Of course, but usually there are some platitudes to hang on to, whether they turn out to be hollow or not.

I've just handed over £1440 to a company who I don't really know who the owner is, nor who the backers are, nor what the intentions are. I know the product, but what standard I'll get is somewhat unknown.

Well one thing to think about, is that we might not go into administration quite so easily if the Chinese Government is involved. Would lose face doing so. But I have to say that the geopolitics don't really bother me too much. Everything in the UK seems to be for sale to who ever comes along, so that they can make profit out of us for themselves and their shareholders. Does it matter hugely if it they are Chinese, Arab, European, American or anything else? I know that China is portrayed as the boogeyman while America is our BFF, but really, what really is the difference in the ownership of say Man Utd or Liverpool to us? Henry and Glazers probably can make a decent profit out of their sport franchise, while our owners are maybe making a profit in different businesses. The Chinese are clever and often see the bigger picture - it seems that Saints is a cog in the bigger picture. And if we all dislike it, get fed up with it, or whatever, then there is a choice to walk away. The sun will still get up in the east and set in the west.
  16. Horrific is good as at least it stands out from the crowd!!! Every cloud has a silver lining etc etc.
  17. WEll done lads. Should really have closed it out at 2-0
  18. Yes, I think that they might do. Read presumably that article some weeks ago. As there are something like 50 throw ins a game, it is an area that they decided needed working on. We DEFINITELY need to work on ours!!! It's been noticeably **** for years.
  19. He's 31 now. Knowing Liverpool, they do sell well, and would want far too much for him. That's before the "politics" of it.
  20. Disappointing finish to the season. 2 points from our last 4 games. The work starts tomorrow.
  21. Ethics? In football??
  22. I wish these football players would quit with the pseudo philosophical tweets and just call a spade a spade.
  23. I've taken the Mrs to 3 games, before we were married, back in 1995. Away to Chelsea where we lost 3-0. Then away to QPR where we lost 3-0. And then one more game in the 1996 season where we lost 3-1 to Wimbledon (at Crystal Palace). After that she was banned, not that she complained.
  24. Aye, said it was U23 - didn't give a ****. Said it was the final - still didn't give a ****. So I guess I'll take her out for dinner, and she still won't give a ****!! Note to those thinking of marriage - do it in late May to July and then that won't intefere with Saints. Might do the Euro's or World Cup though. Or maybe just don't bother with the hassle of marriage.
