It's not luck my friend - it's fate :-) We have fate on our side to provide enjoyment for the good folk of Southampton and surrouding areas! Which is why we missed a big trick in not rehiring Glenda - who would have brought true krama to the haloed saints :-)

Bridge was shocking today - worse than all our LB's. What's happened to him lately - from the 2nd best LB in England (arguably 1st) to this?? Certainly would not want him on loan with us next season on today's performance.

Err why??? He's on at the very least 2 x Saints highest player - dropped rapidly down the ranks of higher (than us) clubs, and no where near his best (for us or otherwise). Sentimently, yes it would be great to have him back, but in reality wasn't this our down fall in the past? Getting expensive hasbeen's blotting out the squad? Could do much better in my view - Dobble?

You have to feel gutted for whoever misses out on automatic promotion - obviously less gutted for Hudders - but have always felt the play offs were completely unfair - the whole point of the league is it is over the entire season, which is why we have the cup competitions, so why turn the league in to a mini cup compoetition at the end just to boost the TV revenues? Anyway hope both of us get through eventually - us in 2nd, Hudders via play off's - they have earned it!

Give it up for god's sake! I am not a lover of Lowe, but he is history and he did his utmost to forward the club in his way - we may agree that was the right way or not (that is life and democracy after all), but he lost a few million on Saints - how many of us can say that? Maybe misguided but he tried things out of the norm to differentiate us and make a smallish club compete at the highest levels - he who dares wins etc. As I said I am not a Lowe fan, but neither do I think he is the anti christ for SFC (RedCrapp etc are much better suited) - he tried his way - it failed - let it rest (and he lost millions in the process BTW). Let's celebrate the security and good times we enjoy now - sod the past, push on for the future :-)

Please read and understand my full post and not pick holes in parts of it. What do you want a return to the "Wilde" times etc.? It is well known that we are debt free (ML bought the club for around £12M, and settled all debts). Even prior to this we were profitible without the interest payments etc. So no we are not making a loss - no where near - in terms of long term return on investment, I cannot think of any one better us! But please continue to slag me and others of the view at your pleasure !

Actually for once we can afford not to get promoted - financially speaking. Of course it would a major disappointment etc. etc. but not the end of the world. This just proves we are so fortunate to have NC in charge (yes ML as well in the past, brought in by NC), who has backed NA fully (and AP until the end). I fully believe we have made a bold move for 2 to 3 players, but these level of players are much sort after (we are competing with most of the lower half of the PL never mind the rest), so it is not easy. I would much rather we hold out for a top player, than add "Mr. Average" to the squad and if it does not work out so be it. NC is trying hard and no other L1 club has the same support. Also importantly, I believe NC is "hooked" on SFC (as I was many years ago), hence his comment that he has several investors who would jump in if ML's family wanted out (which I don't for a minute believe they do). We will get there with NC ! We need to believe and support him

I am sure I saw NC - only a quick pan of the audience about half way through the show, but am sure it was him. If so, well done that man :-) BTW - loved that David B got a much longer standing ovation than the winner !!!!

and you are probably right! hence my caution, however he was very calm and collected - not fuming (like me), and was 15 to 20 mins late, so not a snappy respose! But who knows? Personally, I agree keeper situation is not the most urgent issue. For me we were really very poor - my mate said it was because we had lost the spine of the team (Fonte, RC, LB), and yes I agree - but are we that deverse of back up? For me, we just had a bad day at the office - but honestly we were sh*t (and we knew it). What really messed me up was, why we were playing hoof bal when we took off RL and moved Gully to the wing??? Good job I am not a footy manager as I obviously have no clue how to do the said job :-)

My last post of the day ! To answer your question: 1. The whole party looked rich - clothes, watches, way they spoke etc. 2. Unlike me, the corporate attendance was routine for them (from some of the comments) 3. One of my party recognised one of their party (not the main guy) and said he was in the "media business" - systems etc. not public facing side and was seriously loaded - worth hundreds of millions! 4. Were pretty quiet and discrete in the main - certainly did not draw attention to themselves or act the "big I am" Could have picked up the wrong signals, but seemed to me they were weathly enough not to brag about it or show it. It was my 50th birthday treat so I was just enjoying myself (yes despite the performance and result) to pay them too much attenion - just the keeper comment caught my attention, and then a few seconds later we had a scoring opportunity, after which the hip flask was offered to me again - didn't think about the other lot after that :-)

Quite possibly :-) There was more to this story etc. but did not want to go into it as I knew it would raise more questions than answers - answers I do not have. Anyway he clearly looked, acted and "felt" the part (as did the rest of his party) BUT was not near NC etc. I have my doubts to, biggest one being why would an "unknown, rich, professional" guy a sign a player during half time - maybe he was a ****ed off rich fan mouthing off?? I know I would have bought a new team for the 2nd half if I could !!! As I said make of it what you will - I am not ITK, ever said I was or ever posted ITK info before - just thought it was topical. Anyway one sure FACT - The Alfred raises it's charge for a pint (from £2:20 to £3 I think) during "match times"! Had a few pints well after the game (when the corporate stuff finished) and was surprised to find prices were much lower than average and asked the manager - who confirmed it - who said the entrepreneurial spirit was dead !!!!!

Was in the corporate area for the game last Sat. Same very wealthy guy was late for the 2nd half and when asked where he was, overheard him saying he was sorting out a new keeper for Jan after KD's sterling performance! Make of it what you will. Just to be clear said "big knob" was not part of our party and no one in our party knew who he was (or cared really as we did start drinking rather early).

Steady now - been and still am a life long Saints fan (lot's of great memories, but that's another story), however now living in Ireland :-( Mate - it's not even remotely funny about the absolute dire situation Ireland faces (bit like Saints), poor / 3rd world (opps just ****ed offed all the Irish), then done good (Celtic Tiger etc), only to get too greedy (corrupt) and end up worse thans base 1 !!!!!!!!!! Still it's only money right? Haaaaaaaaa bloody haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

RedCrap team for me - father (ok not a player, but has the be the most detested creature to be associated with Saints - I will start supporting another national team if he ever becomes England manager), and son - Jamie, only came here due to daddy paying him a huge pay cheque for an injured player and then being less than complimentary about his paymasters after leaving us (s©ee yoU Next Tuesday). Steve Williams would be worth a consideration (even though I loved watching him play for us) - we made him the player he was, went to the Arse (fair enough) but no need for snide remarks re Saints and then faded in to oblivion (quite unspectacularly at that). Lawrie -with his spirtual home (and southern supporters not really understanding footy as it should be - unlike the northerns - who really welcomed him !!!!! and now he tries to pass himself off as god's gift to all things Saints - just F off).
