  1. Judging by some comments on here and people I know, I honestly think a few people (hopefully a minority but seems to be a large minority) are in denial about the seriousness of this outbreak - have you seen the Sky coverage of Italian hospitals? Understandable to an extent as the younger generation (below 50) have not seen any real hardship. We're not seeing football or any other sport in a long while folks - let the clever/political guys figure out how the season end is called, but there will be no more physical games played this season.
  2. I work in the industry and can confirm there have been several issues over many mobile and landline networks globally - nothing sinister however, just that networks were sized for a certain (theoretical) capacity and now that limit is being stressed (as people use remote communications much much more in these times - working from home etc.), and in some cases the capacity planned cannot be met (bad design, wrong assumptions etc.). Certainly my company is working flatout to increase capacity but with several staff out it's not easy. Relax, there's no big brother conspiracy - at least on this one!
  3. The world will look very different when this is ultimately over - football or sport in general will be the least of issues. I work for a very large multi billion global company and am part of business continuity / impact planning team, and I can assure you we have not ruled out going out of business, and will certainly be closing many offices and planning for redundancies already - god only knows how industries directly affected (airline, leisure, etc.) and small businesses will cope? I think many (and not implying you at all, more likes of Trump and Boris etc.) are still in denial over this outbreak. I hope I am wrong over this.
  4. Spot on - maybe now it will dawn on some why social distancing is so important - we don't need a total ban, just people to be sensible
  5. You do realise this is about protecting the most vulnerable group of people from the virus, and not that they will pass it on to younger people who have a greater chance of surviving it don't you? Nobody is trying to deny over 70's anything - just trying to keep them as safe as possible. My mother is 85 and if staying indoors for a few weeks increases her chances of staying safe then I'm all for it (well aware it's not a guarantee).
  6. I don't think some get the seriousness of this! People are literally being left to die in Italy as they have no more hospital beds and not just ones with the virus, but other conditions. They don't have any room in morgues, so are using churches etc. to house bodies until they can be buried, and yet the virus has not peaked there. The UK is almost alone (maybe other than US due to that imbecile president of theirs - still shaking hands on live TV!) in having a very blase attitude to the virus. This is going to get a lot lot worse. If, rather when, there is a national emergency declared there will be no choice but to carry out what the Government says - there will be no legal repercussions etc. and the last thing the police and other state agencies will be bothered about is if someone has a valid MOT! Wake up folks, do what you can to delay the spread of this virus and take all the precautions you can https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/advice-for-public , and most importantly maintain social distancing. Football and people's delications are completely irrelevant.

you don't expect to be loaned out to Antwerp You do if you are complete sh*t
  8. Regarding concerns over legal actions etc. if the Government called a National Security (like the US), it gives them almost limitless powers to do whatever they want without any consequences. Fully appreciate this is a football (FA etc.) decision at this stage but they will enlist Government support before making major decision.
  9. Whilst this is obviously worrying and not the best news for summer recruits, I think the club/owner are some way down the track to addressing the situation (30 to 40% is my guess). These results are almost a year old, and since then we have sold Targett (17M +40K pw), Gallagher (5M +30K pw), Austin (4M + 70K pw), Davis (50K pw), Clasie (50K pw), Cedric (50K pw), Yoshi (50K pw), plus all the loans who we will be getting some fee and wages for - even if only 25 to 30%. Let's say Targett, Gallagher and Austin pay for Adams and Jenny as a package as doubt the new boys are not on the same wages, that still leaves a decent reduction overall - probably a few squad/youth players I have missed. Key is we need to shift a few of the loans (and Vest etc.) and bring in two/three quality players and we have a reasonable chance of staying up next season. Also if we were in real dire straits, it's puzzling why we did not sell Vest and Adams - neither have contributed much, and seems there were offers for them. All IMHO and figures are my best guess of course.
  10. Whatever your views on a reporter - why do you think this crisis is even remotely funny??
  11. Le God :-)
  12. No way should Val be rewarded for a ghastly error with another start. RH has always stated that when youngsters get a chance they should take it or pay the price (words to that effect), so he needs dropping. However, I am wondering if RH is the messiah everyone believes anyway?
  13. Suspect that may well be partially true, but then he's just another puppet manager we don't need
  14. He brought in Danso (who you might ask?), KWP (why if you are not going to play him) - both thankfully on loan. Adams, Jenny (yet to be proven). Let Yoshi, Ced and Targett go with no back up for starters. Not sure I would trust him with any precious dosh we might have to spend in the summer wisely.
  15. Naw - just a case of drinking too much of our Kool Aid and thinking we have found our mojo again and can thinker with team selection and breeze to a win. We are an average team that had a good run and still need to fix the basic inherent problems, but seems as though the management team including Ralph might think we don't! Hope I am wrong
  16. Well if Adams can't get on this game - why the hell did we not sell him to Leeds for £19M in Jan?
  17. We just can't deal with physical sides - Burnley, West Ham etc. Add to that the really good sides - Pool, Man C etc. have sussed that and employ those tactic to beat us. Why are we afraid to rough it up?? As someone said earlier we should make a fight of it, not just roll over! Nealy 4 btw!
  18. 100%, and that's my point if all our players surround the Ref maybe we get at least a review or he tries to balance it up later in the game - but nothing. Very other team seems so much better in gamesmanship than us - don't like it personally but it happens so we shouldn't we take advantage as well? Might be Saints by name but no need to be by nature as well!
  19. why are we not calling for a foul on keeper?
  20. Try one of these https://stream.streams100.net/event/southampton-at-west-ham-united-match-preview/

  22. West Ham pressing is very good - seem to be playing our tactic better than us. Alo our passing is very poor - specially in the final 3rd
  23. we're getting overrun here - need to change things
  24. Will be a tough one for us - easiest fixture in a difficult run for Wet Spam and at home. Still I think we might manage a draw which I'm happy with.
