Why then did he block the £20M Jan offer by Leeds? That would have enabled us to get a half decent emerging player from Europe - assuming we can still spot emerging potential that is.
-
Agreed - although he was being rubbished by many on here last season whilst on loan - not that any of them will admit it now
-
I imagine the reason he doesn't want to sign a new contract is he feels he is not progressing here - debut was to show that if he knuckles down and works hard he will indeed get chances in the first team. Whether this tactic works remains to be seen.

Yes, but not agreed to a new contract and can leave for free at end of June. So why play him if not committed? PEH anyone??

FYI - On Sky Ireland tomorrow's game is on Sky One (106) and not Sky Pick - which is great as it's HD. Not sure if it's also the case for the UK. -
Agree with this but don't think he is quite there yet - yes by all means give him more opportunities to prove himself. However, I would have thought with PEH, Lamina and possibly Reed etc. going, we could afford a decent holding midfielder from Europe - where prices will tumble even more than here.
-
If he wants to go, let him - think he might not end up being as good as he thinks he will, but who knows? Concern is with the present situation and only one year of his contract left we might not get enough for him to fund a decent replacement, hence making us weaker overall again!

Yep, I was one of those. Queued for ages and gates were locked about 10 yards from us, so we walked around the outside of the ground, and saw a few fans scaling the walls so followed suit. Was just behind the touchline. Apparently more than twice the normal maximum crowd got in. I put a few quid in the charity bucket, but think it was the ambulance service as I could not see one for the game itself. Brilliant game and the players enjoyed it as well - great banter with the fans during throw-ins, corners etc.

The Sunday Times - Southampton put up for sale at £250m

I see the covid 19 isolation is really kicking in. Bit like the video clips I get - very funny at the start but gradually declining as time goes and fresh content runs out. -
And this is the biggest issue we face now, complacency and "enough is enough" attitude - people think the worst is over - it's not! Why sacrifice weeks of effort for the sake of letting our collective guards down for another few weeks. If there is a second wave, we will be back to square one and all of the lock down efforts will have been wasted.

And you know all this because the great investigative publication, Daily Star says so? I have no idea what the truth is, but I would bet neither does the Star. To be honest I haven't missed football as much as I though I would have when the shut was first announced. -

https://talksport.com/football/695017/newcastle-united-takeover-saudi-consortium-premier-league-owners-rich-list/ Well according to that list we are owned by the 10th richest PL owner even after Newcastle buy out, and above Bin dippers. Of course all depends on how much of his own money the owner is prepared to invest - not sure many are these days (even Spurs, Man C, Chelsea etc.). Time will tell. To be honest taking a break from PL football is making me realise the whole top level football is just so out of kilter with normal life, with some many unsavory charters associated with the game, that I might just start supporting local teams when it all starts again - if indeed there are any minor teams left. -
Stand out candidate has to be Carrillo surely?
-
Current - Jenny, Reddy, JWP All time - Wallace trio. Maybe two + Tiss

If you have Netflix I highly recommend The English Game - very good series by the same team that produced The Crown. All about how football developed in England and shows today's greed is nothing new!

So so tempted to say Tommy Fourpast, but I think that was "Nil Point" :-)
-
Kyle Walker, Jake Vokins, Tyreke Johnson, Basham?
-
I wouldn't feel sorry for Danny - no doubt he'll cheer himself up by spending more than a EUFA fine on a party tonight

Dear me! We do have some prize ones on here - particularly prize ones who have no knowledge what they are crowing about.

Not sure this is the right place, but f'ing brilliant by our captain - so hope he stays!

This is exactly why this situation is getting worse. Dear God just how stupid and irresponsible can some people get?
