I’m pleased to see that you’re coming around to appreciate that PB football is an end in itself and not a means to an end. Your first sentence sums it all up for me. My philosophy is to keep the ball as far away from your own goal as possible and as close to the opposition’s as you can. I don’t think that the unavailability of our new CF was the problem. We have scored sufficient goals but one look at the number of goals conceded should give everyone the shudders.

That much is clear.

Simply being in the Premier League massively increases their investment. Once there results don’t matter.

It’s the gambler’s fallacy. Ignore the losses and only concentrate on the wins.

Too many goals against. That’s because the style of play is fundamentally flawed. It doesn’t always work because it cannot always work. We’re not talking about the occasional defeat here. I’m tired of seeing the opposition waltz through our wide open defences and score at will. All the joy I get out of us scoring a goal is taken away many times over when we concede. Is this how a junky feels? Shoot up to get a high followed by a bout of depression?

That is so stupid. If you follow that philosophy then nothing would ever get done because you’d be continuously breaking it.
