Deal with it: move on.

Do you know when, and in which parts of the city you would prefer to stay? I have contacts in both who can advise me.
-
Wow! You don't get that sort of treatment at many football clubs.
-
That's why the russian Migs used valves instead of semiconductors, or so I'm told.
-
Very good She should insist on a small deposit first.
-
I thought of several possibilities except that one. I went for an argument over the will. What does that make me?
-
We're there in a couple of weeks. I shall miss Walsall and Huddersfield at home
-
Just a thought... Maybe that's why he didn't spend much under Lowe?
-
This is very common and I saw a piece about in some time ago. There are occasions where the use of either is apparently accepted, particularly with regard to football clubs, e.g. 'Manchester United is the biggest club in the world' 'Manchester United are through to the next round of the cup' The Government is also often referred to in the plural and singular.

Count beans? There's also the VAT on the ticket that often gets forgotten.

Yes, indeed. The young lady who showed us round Balaclava was married to a submariner in the Pacific fleet. She said that when the Soviet Union broke up Ukraine was allocated one submarine out of over 300, and that sub was the worst in the fleet.

I'm not party to the exact figures but when we were discussing this in the summer it was said that the stadium more than paid for itself, even with the repayments, so now it must be generating money.

For them to lose, someone else has to win, so ideally we want everyone else to draw and Saints to win.

You forgot: 'The Last Days of Pompey'

Behind the sofa?

It's a bit of a let-down, isn't it? I too have spasmodic emotions.

I was told (by someone who was there) that NC said it at a supporters meeting at the time of the purchase. So as you say, it's just a rumour and I suppose there's only one way that we would find out if it were true.

I thought that too but apparently there is a £50m trust fund set aside in a Swiss bank which goes to the club in just such an eventuality.

Very interesting, thanks for the link, DellDays, I've just watched it. It reminds me in some ways of the Thetis that flooded off Anglesey during the war. I once read a book about it and they managed to get the stern raised out of the water but only after 4 men had escaped through the hatches. My father told me that once it had been found and partially raised the general feeling was that they had all been saved, but alas not. Last November I visited the former secret Russian submarine base at Balaclava. That was spooky, walking through what had recently been one of the most secure military bases in the world. http://www.artificialowl.net/2008/08/former-classified-underground-submarine.html

Ta. That would make sense.

Just a thought.... I know that the PL dock 9 points for administration because they play 38 games to our 46, but if (make that when) they do get relegated and assuming that similar rules will apply to them to those applied to us, they will be playing in the CCC with -9 points carried over, and 46 games to play next season. Could the Football League increase the penalty?

Is the loan window open for another month (or so)?
-
Yup, done that . I personally always start counting at zero.

Aren't you confusing your cardinals with your ordinals? The page labeled 200 is the 200th page, the same as page 1 was the first. And don't get me started on the millenium. JC wasn't born in year 1, 0 or anywhere near that, what we were all celebrating was the clock ticking over to all the 0s. If you waited a year then you must have missed a hell of a party!

I suspect that non-payment for a third time amounts to breach of contract so if that's the case they can walk away at any moment. Of course, they would then need to find another club to take them and as the transfer window ends in 83 minutes that might be difficult, unless they count as free agents, perhaps.
