The referee is the sole timekeeper. Having said that, he has a responsibility to be fair to both teams and I am sure that most observers would say that nearly 6 minutes of added time was excessive where there had been no significant injuries.

They all looked good decisions to me (like the 'handball' ). For most of them he was at least a couple of yards offside.

I was walking past at the same time and I saw a couple of police piling in but I had a bus to catch so I just kept walking. 50 yards up the road I heard a few shouts of 'green army' and some drongo was mouthing off to the effect of 'how are the mighty fallen' (not his words) and how pitiful it was that we could only beat Yeovil 2-0. Most people were just giving him a strange look and walking on by. These days most of us are grateful for anything we can get.

It's not really fair to judge him on today's showing. It looked to me like he was too eager to make an impact and maybe that's why he was offside so often. I'm sure that the coaching staff can curb his enthusiasm.

I counted at least five Yeovil headers where they could have scored. I'm sure it's something that will be worked on. At least our defence must be quite intimidating when seen from ground level. We must give away less free-kicks, although it doesn't seem fair to criticise. The referee gave them a lot of free-kicks when all our players were doing was standing their ground.

We sit in the middle of the Kingsland. Not one of us would have given the first and for the second I was the only one who saw the ball skid up off the grass and glance off the defender's arm. None of the players appealed, there may have been a half-hearted shout of 'handball' from someone in the crowd and even the assistant seemed to pause for a second before waving the flag about and sticking it across his chest. It was definitely his call and normally the referee's instructions are not to flag a penalty unless you are 150% sure. The referee can't ignore his lino without making him look silly. For me, it was definitely ball to hand but it wasn't my call to make, was it?

I'll take the win, even if it was a bit embarrassing having the two penalties handed to us on a plate. I'd have been even happier if we'd scored a goal from our own efforts and the midfield didn't look quite right to me but the defence looked solid, except from the set pieces, and things are slowly turning our way. I sincerely hope that Papa is not going to spend the rest of the season offside. 2-0 to the referee.
