  1. It's all to do with broadcasting rights limitations which are becoming increasingly outdated in the internet age.
  2. I have paid my tv licence so why can't I watch BBC I-player wherever I want? I've been on a 2-week cruise through the med and they wouldn't let me watch any highlights either.
  3. I've been away for a couple of weeks and my brain has become a bit addled. I should have said 'Kingsland' instead of 'Northam'. In any case, I have just noticed that it is on a Wednesday night instead of our usual Tuesday so I may not be able to go after all!
  4. Agreed. £3 for a great evening's entertainment. I don't quite understand the bit about season ticket holders not being able to have their usual seats. I can understand this if their area is closed but does it also apply to the Northam?
  5. Thanks for that. It brought a warm glow and tears to my eyes and it brought back happy memories too. :smt059 :smt059
  6. It appears to be changing all the time: http://www.yanks-abroad.com/get.php?mode=content&id=4781 http://kassiesa.com/uefaforum2/viewtopic.php?t=1327&sid=474c833ab205fa000e9fbdb0445c9ea1
  7. I think it's something to do with competitive games, but I'm not sure.
  8. Have you been going to your Hoddles Anonymous meetings at last?
  9. If you can't stand the heat, keep out of the Itchen? I'll get me coat.
  10. Au contraire, mon ami, au contraire. Going to the match with your son or daughter is one of life's great experiences, and a valuable lesson for the youngster. I once remember coming away from Old Trafford or some such ground after we had been right royally stuffed and a father was saying to his disconsolate kiddy 'that's what it's all about, son'. Besides, who's going to take you to the game when you're old and past it?
  11. What I find is that closing the north car park means that I have to walk further and so by the time that I get round to Britannia road I meet all the away fans coming out of the ground. If it's against human rights then why have I been kept behind at Fratton Park and Ninian Park for over an hour on more than one occasion?
  12. What crime might that be? How can you possibly prove what was going on in someone's head several years ago? Why are we even talking about it at this stage? Oh
  13. So was Churchill.
  14. Why don't you stand for election?
  15. There was a header before that which hit the keeper. We were unlucky not to score.
  16. Er, there aren't penalty shoot outs in regular league games. At that time Ivan Golac was one of my neighbours and he didn't have Sky so he came over and watched the game at my place.
  17. It's something to do with FIFA regualtions, and sh!t. 40,000 for the groups and 60,000 for the semi-finals.
  18. Wouldn't the ground need expanding first? 42,000 or something?
  19. Before they got rich there were a couple of wins at Chelsea. I remember a midweek 2-0 to Saints, MLT got at least one. I was aslo at Anfield for the 3-2 (funny, I always remember it as 3-1!) and there was a fellow sitting next to me with his girlfriend. She came from Southampton but he was originally from Liverpool and he was telling here how he used to go as a kid and stand on the Kop and what a great club it was and all that stuff. When our third went in he got up in disgust and dragged her out. As she went past she whispered to me "actually I was quite enjoying it".
  20. Kumquat may
  21. Because of violence by visiting supporters?
  22. The referee is the sole timekeeper. Having said that, he has a responsibility to be fair to both teams and I am sure that most observers would say that nearly 6 minutes of added time was excessive where there had been no significant injuries.

  24. The exact phrasing in the 'Laws of the Game' is 'handles the ball deliberately'.
