  1. If you want to sell someone like Kenwynne then you sometimes have to take something in return. It may be that the manager says something like "If you buy him that's going to leave me short of a striker/fullback/centre half" so the buying manager offers someone he wants to offload. Or it may just be that in order for us to get £6m we had to take SJ in return. Didn't something similar happen with Le Saux? (and David Speedy?)
  2. I'm afraid we don't have enough time for acquired tastes.
  3. It's part-exchange. Imagine you want to buy a shiny new Kenwynne Jones and you want to trade in your old banger called Stern John.
  4. I wonder if we'll get our money back? If not, then his purchase may have been the one that pushed us into administration.
  5. We shall be the weaker for his leaving. Also in the Mail today: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1209322/Wolves-chase-Readings-James-Harper-Royals-seek-Grzegorz-Rasiak.html
  6. Fair enough. I saw the original block but not any 'afters', probably because there weren't any.
  7. Beg yer parden, sur! I thought you were talking about last night!
  8. But this is business. As Remo says in 'Casino': "Why take a chance?"
  9. I suspect that his behaviour and temperament would not sit comfortably with our new management and owner.
  10. I don't see how you can say that. It was a cracking game and it only cost me £3.
  11. Maybe, but he should not be taking corners. 7 minutes into added time we win a corner and he hits it over everybody's head to the opposite wing. Game over.
  12. Is there any video evidence of this? If it can be proved, then there may be a case for a private prosecution...
  13. Lambert was clearly pushed as he went for a cross from the left in the first half..
  14. Has he left yet?
  15. Brilliant game, but it all went wrong after Murty went off. James was actually quite good in midfield but back to his old self at fullback. Atrocious refereeing. You couldn't tell which was the premiership team. We were mugged.
  16. I hate the multiball system. It would be interesting to see a correlation between when we play multiball and when we win games. I was watching closely last season and our first win came when the ref stopped it during the match and the second was against Birmingham when the competition didn't allow it. Apart from these, we didn't win much. Does anybody know about the away games?
  17. Agreed. He was slow getting back for most of the game and had no physical presence.
  18. It's quite simple really. The high turnover of managers led to a bloated playing squad with quantity instead of quality which drained the finances out of our operations. Couple that with a megalomaniacal micro-manager and you have a guaranteed recipe for disaster.
  19. Take one new player every two days and if it's not better in 9 months, come back and see me.
  20. Let's not panic yet, let's panic later. Halfway through next season perhaps.
  21. That's what I suspected but I wasn't there. At one time when they had a corner he was trying to mark two players on his own. I used to play full-back and you tend to notice this sort of thing.
  22. From watching that we seemed to be wide open around our left-back position.
  23. I don't care how much profit the club makes. All that matters to me are performances and results on the pitch.
  24. There's a few of them playing for us at the moment.
