  1. Please refrain from the same old refrain. What about those two penalties that we missed?:smt083
  2. Whatever happens at the end of the season, would everybody please refrain from saying 'if only that shot had gone in'
  3. I don't know why I bother. Why should I care if the players don't?
  4. If it walks like a Beast and quacks like a Beast, then it's a Beast.
  5. Until Saturday night, that is.
  6. You mean, it's not July Andrews???
  7. So that our 'chosen men', our 'elite squad' could trample over it and we could all rejoice.
  8. Some archaeologist will dig up St. Mary's and wonder what it was built for. He will probably conclude that it had a 'ritual' purpose where the local population would come and worship once a fortnight.
  9. That's good to hear. Perhaps his long-term plan will be starting to show results by then.
  10. Is Rupert still in charge?
  11. I'm inclined to agree with you. A win for Blackpool would also put them on 49 points and virtually safe. Our only other big hope is our game-in-hand but with have to stay 'in touch' for that to be significant. A win away at Watford is not out of the question, but I suspect we'll end up with another draw. I think that by the 7th April the picture will be a lot clearer. This has all the makings of us being narrowly relegated and cursing those missed penalties, missed chances, etc, etc, etc
  12. And what league are we in? I'm dying to know.
  13. So when/if we're down we can look forward to winning a few games then?
  14. I was at the Dell one evening, East Stand, and there were a couple of young teenage girls in front of me who were desperate for a fag. I explained that it was no-smoking because of the wooden stand and I asked them if they knew about the big fire at Bradford. They had never heard of it. Don't they teach them anything at school these days?
  15. Weren't we 3-2 up at the time? One of Matt's was a penalty. Ken's was an own goal to make it 3-3. That was the strange thing about it. It was down at the far end and a cross went into the box from our right and Ken put a brilliant header down inside our left post. I later heard from someone who said he was at a do that evening with the players that, let's just say, they would be happy with a draw. I know that the first invasion came with less than 3 minutes on the clock and I remember thinking that if the game were to be abandonded then the result would stand and we would be ok.
  16. I was there too. We were 3-2 up and there was a pitch invasion. In the dressing room the players knew the results from the other games and a that a draw would be enough to keep us up. I am 'led to believe' that there was an understanding that we would concede a goal and everybody would run like mad for the tunnel. Then Ken stuck the best header he had ever made into the bottom left corner of our goal, and the rest is history. IIRC, allegedly.
  17. Me too. I still have tears in my eyes.
  18. There are numerous other threads on this topic. Please insert the name of the person you blame here: 'R..... L...'
  19. Lose to Blackpool and they'll be ok. Win and we're in with a good chance.
  20. Can't we have him instead?
  21. And exactly how much of that is down to leisure fishing? ...zilch.
  22. I'm not sure which is the greater health hazard.
