  1. Don't forget that Rupert and the others will continue to draw a salary up until the pint of administration.
  2. On and after the fourth Thursday in March the points take effect next season. This year that means March 26th. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4066098.March_deadline_for_administration/
  3. Was it bad luck when Perry cleared off the line?
  4. No, I'm not having that! A good defence would not let these people get into positions where they could score these goals. And you can be unlucky in a few games but not over a whole season or more.
  5. No amount of coaching is going to turn James into a right-back.
  6. You haven't seen next season yet!
  7. Get in a proper manager with experience of the lower leagues. Get back all the loanees and we might just have a small chance. If nothing else, he'll have time to get to know the squad and prepare for next season.
  8. For the first time this season I am REALLY ANGRY! We played 50 minutes against 10 men and Sheffield looked comfortable throughout. We started with McLaggon and Lallana so we only had 9 players really. We have Skacel, Euell and BWP who are costing us a lot of money and yet we start with lightweights. We've loaned out proven regular goalscorers and week after week we see teams come to St Mary's with players you've never heard of who can turn our so-called fullbacks inside-out and stroke the ball into the bottom corner from 20 yards out whilst our load are having wild swings at the ball when they are not too busy falling over. Wotte hasn't got a clue. McGoldrick is ponderous and unfit. McLaggon lost posession every time he got the ball, bring back Ali Dia. We don't have a right-back. James kept trying to cross the ball as soon as he got into their half. The first time this season that he gets to the bye-line we get a goal! Please can we have a proper manager before it's too late. We weren't unlucky, we just aren't very good.
  9. I wasn't worried Phil, to be honest, but thanks for thinking of us. I had steak and kidney pie and chips for lunch down by Southampton Water. Now I'm about to set off into town to have a football burger with loads of onions and then I'm going to watch a real game of traditional english football played on a soggy pitch on a Tuesday night under winter floodlights. Now who's jealous?
  10. What's the football like?
  11. Let me see.... I'd give Sheffield Utd a probability of 1.4 goals and us about the same, so it's all down to how well the two defences play on the night. I'll plump for 1-1.
  12. Which flight number is it? According to Manchester BE7370 17:00 'on time' Southampton airport saying BE7370 arr 18:00 'delayed'
  13. If it's the 18:00 it's saying 'delayed' http://www.southamptonairport.com/portal/page/Southampton%5EGeneral%5EFlight+information%5ELive+flight+arrivals/ This one is saying 'on time' http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/MANFlightInfo/FlightInfo It might be better to check with the airport direct. Southampton departures are leaving ok, from what I can see.
  14. It means that I won't pass judgment on him until I've seen him play a few games, but my expectations are not very high. The two are not inconsistent and I look forward to being pleasantly surprised.
  15. Sun's out at the moment
  16. The club can't just call off the game because it's cold, or rainy, or because they don't think the crowd will be very big. There would be big sanctions from the League. If it's called off by the ref or the police then it's a different matter.
  17. Perhaps all our protests have forced a re-think at the top levels?
  18. I shall reserve judgment until I've seen him. If he were any good we would have heard of him, but if he were any good, he wouldn't be signing for us
  19. These two could be the diference between staying up or sinking. I, for one, would be delighted if they both stayed for the rest of the season.
  20. that would be 'affect'.... (and grammar).... Saintjay, I'm quite happy to read any of your posts with interest and I would never try to dissuade you or make you feel small in any way, but sometimes small things can make a big difference Keep posting!
  21. I went to Chelsea once for a midweek game. I picked my daughter up at Reading and drove through thunder and lightning and a continuous downpoor. We arrived at the ground, bought a programme and got to 10 feet from our seats when the steward told us that the game had been called off, which I knew would happen anyway. My sympathies go to those Saints fans who got to Newcastle a few years ago only for the match to be called off because the roads around the stadium were a 'bit icy'. Northern softies!
  22. But we won't be playing them..
  23. We sold him; we got the money; he's nothing to do with us any more.
  24. From what I know about this type of business, the company that made them (Daktronics) supplies them at low cost to the host institution and then manages the advertising sales for them. Depending on the details of the deal it is not uncommon for all the revenue from the advertising to go to the led video screen provider. The host institution gets the use of the screen for free. It can't be a coincidence that both screens should fail at the same time. The one at the Northam end had two groups of modules intermittently failing completely and two other individual modules that had lost their red signals. The Chapel end was presumably turned off because it was too bad to use. They're probably not significant faults but there will certainly have beeen a loss of revenue to somebody.
