Agreed, there is a long way to go, but if these 'lads' are ever going to develop into professional footballers they will have to experience all aspects of playing in front of paying customers, the poor diddums.
I don't see why anybody should have to make allowances just because they are a load of kids. If they are wearing Saints shirts and we are paying full prices then we are entitled to expect better than what we saw today. Is anybody suggesting that if we had suffered that performance last season then nobody should have booed them off?
I don't think I'll bother. I went up to Millmoor the last time that they beat us. They play at the Don Valley Stadium now, I believe. It could have been worse. We could have drawn them at SMS.
I agree with you in the most part, he only made a couple of factually wrong decisions. The two officials missed a blatant handball late in the second half, and he was wrong not to play advantage when Dyer was pulled back so that he could give the Blackpool player a booking. There was one occasion when our players seemed determined not to take the kick from the right place. James was unluck to get booked for what I did not consider to be fouls.
There were only two weeks between the 1st and 2nd rounds but there are 4 weeks to the next one so I suppose they can afford to wait. I'll take anyone that can fill SMS providing they're not very good.
There were cameras behind both goals with a cameraman operating the Northam one. That can't have been cheap so why all the cameras if we're only going to get the goals?
Would that be the one with the registration 'D GOLD' ? It didn't look blue to me but that was under the street lights.
I agree, he must have been disappointed with the way that his team played. By the end of the game they looked completely p!ssed off.
I'm happy to admit that I feel a little bit more confident now that we have Cork and Pekhart on loan but I still feel that the squad is a bit thin and we need a couple more signings. We shan't have a settled squad until the loan window closes at the end of September (?)
