  1. Which part of last season? The beginning or the end?
  2. I think the figure is high but it's two new cars and a couple of exotic holidays.
  3. Who the hell wants to buy a place in London?
  4. Two people working, not having foreign holidays, just one car ten years old, not going out, itquite possible. I can't ever remember the day when a single person on a low salary could afford to buy their own house. We saved up for over five years and put down a deposit of £1500 on a house costing £6400 in 1971. But we didn't spend any money on what we would see as luxuries.
  5. I'm underwhelmed but I feel a bit like the way I do after the 'wrong' Prime Minister gets elected. You just have to live through it, hope they don't mess up too badly and in three years or so another one might come along.
  6. Why is such a deposit unrealistic? Saving for it would require sacrifices and hard work but there again it always has. The Younger generation today wants it all at once and it wants it now.
  7. Semaphore on a dark night.
  8. Me too, but I'm mid Atlantic on a very slow Internet feed so please gentlemen, as much information as possible.
  9. Wouldn’t that just cover everybody in snot?
  10. He wasn't 'hounded out'. He was sacked because of a horrendous run of results.
  11. Whilst we were in the EU the Leavers were benefiting from all the economic advantages that we had. Now that we've left we are all suffering with no hope of redress in the immediate future. Farage has only ever been interested in making himself filthy rich.
  12. It's a differentworld these days. In the early 1980s I worked a lot in Canada but they started to tighten up around 1985. Don't even think about Australia unless yu have something they want.
  13. Don’t be such a prick. You haven’t got a clue as to what is involved and in most cases emigrating is either impossible or impractical. I’ve been to all these countries apart from Belize.
  14. We can’t can we because you and your lot took away our freedom of movement.
  15. He played an important part in our goal.
  16. The most unnatural position is when a defender tucks his hands behind his back.
  17. I was just quoting the Echo. That area is a bit seedy for me. There again, the same goes for most of Southampton Does an accountant for a restaurant cook the books or does he book the cooks?
  18. Salisu's came off his thigh.
  19. I think he was
  20. Nope, not me. The only opinion that matters is Mike Dean’s apparently.
  21. For the first goal his right hand seems to flick the ball towards the goal. I can’t see how they can have it both ways though. If the first is accidental then the second should be too, in my opinion.
  22. Is that a poster?
  23. Well said. When Lyanco clattered into them for the first time I said to my grandson that they’d be just a little bit more wary the next time they met. I remember a game near the end of the season at the Dell when Arsenal beat us and won the league. I mentioned to some of the Arsenal fans after the game that their team had been somewhat aggressive and their reply was merely that you needed that sort of thing in your team if you were going to win anything.
  24. “Since he was two months” old but yeah, you’re probably right. My missus used to deal with the Sunak in their pharmacy when she worked in Primary Care. She says they were always “very ambitious”.
  25. At the merest hint of a touch they were hitting the grass like bugs splattering a windscreen. Pathetic bunch of flimsiest.
