  1. That was my question though.
  2. Yesterday
  3. At least one of which was 40 yards from goal and 10 yards in from the side line.
  4. Because it got in that player’s face. Enough to put him off what would otherwise have been a lot easier.
  5. Which shots did he not save yesterday?
  6. But we weren’t playing Bournemouth??? He missed what you called a sitter because he he came for that cross. Whatever anyone might think of his abilities yesterday was not a reason to criticise him.
  7. Do you realise how ridiculous that sounds?
  8. I’ve been a regular critic of Bednarek lately but he was less of a liability today. A couple of moments when he could have shown a bit more composure but understandably it was safety first and get rid of the ball as soon as possible.
  9. Let me see if I’ve got this right. He’s a terrible keeper because he didn’t have a shot to save?
  10. Yep. That’s how I remember it. A loose bouncing pass across the face of the goal. KWP wasn’t it? Totally unnecessary and rightly bollocked for it. That ball wasn’t ’at his feet’
  11. Why? It wouldn’t change its nature. It was stupid and unnecessary. JWP was having a right go at the culprit.
  12. That ‘flap’, as you call it, is the reason the Leicester player missed. That back pass was suicidal. Most would have struggled with it.
  13. Nonsense. You can’t pin our performances on just the one player.
  14. Did nothing wrong today. Go find a different punchbag.
  15. McCarthy would have got nowhere near it. Coming outwith a flying fist is going to put off anybody. Otherwise it would have been a free header.
  16. Didn’t the VAR help them?
  17. Played well in the time that he was on.
  18. They were both pulling each other's shirts before they even got into the box. Orsi takes a swipe at DCC who then flaps back. Which of these multiple offences do you penalise and with what sanction? This is a common question amongst referees and our mate on Wednesday got it wrong.
  19. That’s been a general criticism of VAR since it was first proposed. The same Laws and their proper interpretation should apply across all levels of football and across all countries. The way that the officials operate is changed by the presence of VAR and you might think that a Premier League team would be used to operating within it but are the officials? That referee on Wednesday has previously mainly operated without VAR having officiated at only five Premier League games. It’s no surprise if he’s overawed by it and takes his time and follows the lead of another referee sitting miles away in front of a flickering screen
  20. I can only repeat my earlier comment. That could never be described as ‘a hit’. It was a flick with the back of his hand.
  21. There needs to be a full medical report first.
  22. It depends on the status and experience of the on field referee. The raw ones are too scared of standing up for their own decisions and feel that if they have been recommended to review they must have been wrong. There is also confirmation bias. The more times that you see a replay the more you think that the action must have been premeditated because you know what’s coming next. You have lost the spontaneity of the initial observation.
