Or a decent centre half, or a more composed midfield, or we had scored more goals.. the world is full of ifs and buts. With a top quality, world class goalkeeper we might have drawn 2-2 at the end of 90 minutes. With a central defender who could track Ibrahimovic in the last 5 minutes we might have drawn 2-2. We didn't we lost, we move on.

I would suggest that he's not much of a friend. To be honest I hardly give them a second thought these days.

Saints V Man United - Post Match Reactions

This This. I was near the halfway line and my memory of the day will be the cobntrast between the two halves of the stadium. One end was a boiling sea of red and white whilst the other was row after row of dark grey tombstones. and this and this too. I hate that sh!tty little club even more than ever. I've learnt long ago that life's not fair but all the cringewothy fawning in the media just makes my blood boil. -
Historical, innit. In France they are called 'Tribunes' which always makes me think about the Coliseum. You wouldn't have stood up in from of an emperor there or you would have been thrown to the lions accompanied by great cheers from the crowd and much waving of big red hands.

LOL Bloody iPad autocorrect. We could talk about predestination all day long. Whenever I read such things I am always reminded of the scenes in Lawrence of Arabia where whatever happens the answer is always " Ah! Then it is written!" There's no arguing with that. 'There's a divinity that shapes our ends, Rough-hew them how we will.' Hamlet, Act 5, Scene 2

That's what caused his injury.

He went there for a bet?

..... which is the correct answer!

That all depends on whether you think a settled team is better than one that is constantly changed. Manchester United have played more games than us over the same period.

The better team lost. The better players won. Ibrahimovic was the difference. -
It wasn't too bad in our area (Block 527) apart from a few who were only there for a p!ss up and who feel that they have to stand up with their arms stretched out to support their team. Strange that whilst they're doing this they are too busy looking around to see if anyboy is noticing them rather than actually watching the game. I expect they thought that they were supporting their team too although how they can do that by spending half the time getting up to go to the toilets I shall never understand. This may come as a shock but... you can make the same amount of noise sitting down as you can standing up - just saying - and the players won't even notice the difference.

I agree that it has cost us so far this season. Whether it cost us yesterday.... Let's just say that I'm still thinking about it.

Of the two players there's only one that I feel privileged to have seen in action, only one who was blessed by the hand of God. -
Yes of course. Let's all just accept that not everybody sees things the same way. It's a good thing that we're all different.

'Benefit of the doubt' is no longer in the Laws, he is either offside or he isn't. We've been over this whole debate many times before so I'm not going to get too involved today. Offside is very difficult to judge on TV in most circumstances but yesterday was obvious even to the naked eye. This official also made several other mistakes during he game but they didn't have the same obvious unjust result. If you're going to interfere in one decision then you have to do it in every other one too. You can't just pick the one you don't like. I also blame TV for ruining the game over the last decade or so. The ridiculous amounts of money have distorted it as a sporting competition. The game yesterday was decided by the obscene amounts of money that Man Utd can afford to pay. We now have the cult of the superstar player and hyped-up manager who has to play-act in front of the cameras. Football is the King of Sports and I don't want to see it ruined any more by big business TV.

And lost both games after the break.
-
Now you're being selfishly stupid. If you think that standing waving your arms in the air and bawling your head off is all that counts for support then you have a lot to learn.
-
I thought he should have done better with the first but I watched the kick again last night and there mitigating circumstances. The wall was a poor shape. The kick was very powerful and driven straight over the head of Steven Davis who didn't even try to jump. There was a vicious late swerve away to Forster's right which didn't help either. It was a strange free kick, one you don't see very often and at the time I thought it must have gone straight through the wall. Orion should never have made that tackle in the first place. He had no chance with the other two goals, let's not pretend otherwise.

Those who like to sit are also regular attendees. They also tend not to mix regularly with your crowd. When you were under 14 or when you're over 60 you will probably see things differently, if there's nobody standing in your way.

There's no need for the abusive language. Whether rotation is a good idea or not is certainly a valid subject for discussion. Yesterday was the first time all season that Puel named an unchanged team. That should tell you all you need to know.
-
I'm not in favour of television taking more control. In my opinion it should be a spectator and not a participator. Having said that, this decision was as poor as it gets at this level. As an ex-referee myself I instinctively follow a forward's movement to look for offside and there was nothing in that move yesterday that look even borderline to me. The official himself (Stuart Burt) will be mortified by his mistake and will suffer for it but that's no good to Saints now.
-
In my experience those who stand waving their scarves in the air and sing their hearts out are not actually watching the game and are more interested in taking part in what psychologists would call a 'group hug'.
-
You are being selfish. Sit down and let everybody enjoy the game. There is no need to stand at Wembley in order to get a better view. There were a couple of jumper-uppers in front of us but these were all the ones who turned up 10 seconds before kickoff and complained that they couldn't find find their scarves, kept going out to the toilets during the game and were late back for the second half and missed our equaliser. There was another who decided he had to stand in order to take photographs during the build-up thus blocking everybody else's view. Consideration for others is a mark of a civilised society.
