That Tarkowski tackle was as red as they get.
-
It should have been a red card for Young. The ball is classed as a weapon.
-
No appeal for yellow cards.

No, that’s not the way it works. You can’t cherry pick your moments in a game. Martin is responsible for the way we defend (?) corners and he got that spectacularly wrong in both games. I wasn’t smashed under the bar, as you put it. It was driven down at the foot of the post.

All four of Dibling’s are for shirt tugging. He needs to be more disciplined and disciplined more.

But giving the ball away is a direct consequence of trying to keep the ball by passing it around. Doing that at the back also means that when we do lose possession we are in a poor defensive configuration. By all means pass the ball around (quickly and snappily) when we are further up the pitch but doing it at the back is like dangling a piece of meat over the jaws of an alligator. Sooner or later it will bite your arm off.

Watching MOTD I noticed the run by Archer that drew away two Everton defenders and created the space for AA to exploit. One of the two defenders was Mykolenko who blocked Pickford’s view. It was the speed of our attack that broke up Everton’s defensive shape.

What’s wrong with you lot tonight? Too much celebratory jungle juice? I used the term ‘offside goal’ in the context of what could have happened in the last few minutes. Yet you and others can only concentrate on the word ‘offside’. Surely everybody knows what an offside goal is? Surely? *pedant alert* It’s not actually possible to be a mile offside. 😎 Lighten up. We won FFS.

#deluded (not you, Martin)

You sure? People still argue over Bobby Stokes. But that wasn’t my point, was it? There was enough time for them to have scored a goal. Yes or no?

Some very loose passes today. I stopped counting at ten. And why oh why does he insist on repeatedly turning back inside and passing the ball towards our penalty spot? We all know he’s going to do that and so do the opposition. They use it as a signal to bundle forward.

Ooh, you’re entering the world of metaphysics here. Schrödinger’s cat and all that. Gone are the days of absolute certainty over such matters. These days you’re not offside until the fat VAR controller says you are. Until the referee draws his magic box in the air the outcome is uncertain and unknown. Back in the real world, at the game he looked clearly offside but I could swear that nobody noticed those red and blue lines across the pitch. My point was, still is, that there was enough time for someone to score a goal.
-
Yes, I know, but it was very tight.
-
Just enough time for a tight offside goal though 😗
-
Yes. And we scored once he went off.

None of the furlough money went to businesses. It went to the staff. The employers still had to pay NI and pension contributions. -
As kids in the 1950s we were all into it. We used to hollow out a swede (he wasn’t happy about it) and put a lighted candle inside. Then walk around the streets wondering why we had done it. Pumpkins were unheard of in those days.

Contraction is just a shorter version of contradiction.

Businesses got loans which they are still having to pay back. What help were you thinking about? -
