  1. Not America, or Australia, or New Zealand, or Canada, or South Africa then, or any of the many other English-speaking language countries? Or any of the Arabic-speaking ones, come to that.
  2. I shall be up that way tomorrow at a family wedding and some of my relations are Tottenham experts. It will be interesting to see what they think of him.
  3. Are you saying that you once wrote utter b*ll*cks?
  4. That's a pity. I don't ever drink at the ground (driving) but tonight I would make an exception if UEFA tell me not to.
  5. I wouldn't think that many of them are from Aleppo, and even if they are they must have passed through a lot of safe places on their way to Calais.
  6. To be honest I had completely forgotten about him.
  7. They have created something that can be sold, just the same as someone who grows food, for example. This goes to the root of economic theory, supply of money and supply of good ad so forth.
  8. They obviously didn't teach you that the rich are wealthy or that being wealthy makes you rich. They have taught you knowledge but not understanding. Both words have been used extensively on here. Seriously, you have a problem.
  9. Not so. Not since we left the gold standard anyway. If someone builds a house from scratch then where has the value of that house come from? The BofE controls the supply of money with one eye on inflation.
  10. It all depends on what you mean by 'wealth'.
  11. Not exactly true. The amount of money in circulation is increased as necessary but it gets very complicated. It is all controlled (supposedly) by The Bank of England and there are different types of money, M0, M1, M3 and so on.
  12. There is a difference in accounting terms. A £10m player would go straight on the balance sheet with his value written down over the four years. It's a bit like the difference between buying a car outright or on a lease with no residual value.
  13. I admire his honesty and his aspirations but his ideas about running the country are la-la.
  14. Teller was a great professional. His experience helped all the youngsters coming through.
  15. Away goals are crucial in Europe so a clean sheet tomorrow evening and we're halfway there.
  16. If were going to correct there and youre writing well be hear all day. (Don't bother, it's supposed to be like that )
  17. We certainly don't want those sorts of people in this country. I can only see this situation deteriorating.
  18. Maybe, but I'd rather see the game than just listen to it. I have been in some bad seats in St Mary's.
  19. Too subtle for some, apparently.
  20. I shall always be grateful to him for his two goals against Arsenal that set up Matt's glorious winner at The Dell.
  21. It's the rich that pay for a large part of government spending. You won't get that from a moral compass and you'd have even less social mobility. I agree about the railways, privatisation is a stupid idea.
