  1. Length of contract? Cork would have been out of contract this suummer so he could have gone for nothing.
  2. Effectively it's an accusation of theft and not something that I would leave unchallenged.
  3. Yeah, f'sure
  4. There are special arrangements for MPs and ministers in these situations. It was ever thus so.
  5. Seen from this side of the pond it's emigration of a Canadian kind. Anyway, the American word is immigratificationalize.
  6. I used 'effluent' in the sense of an adjective meaning 'flowing out from' but also for its other connotations. I suspect you knew this but your version works just as well
  7. Of course it was a joke, nothing more and certainly nothing to get excited over.
  8. Me too. The people I feel sorry for are all those good, honest traditionalists who are proud to be Scottish but also want to stay British. The drive for independence seems to be centred among the younger ones in the southern cities.
  9. Our first team is. Our squad isn't.
  10. Yeah, no worries. We did ok for all the years that it wasn't in operation, over 50 in my case.
  11. Oh good. Apart from the EU referendum I'm all up for those.
  12. A sad loss, but at least we have his music. A uniquely distinctive style.

  14. I would prefer players who want to be here.
  15. One more win please and then we can all join the players on holiday

  17. Having to watch Saints at the moment
  18. What has he done to suffer this?
  19. Yes, I agree, he's better that the last two, certainly.
  20. I'm saying that there are plenty of fat cats in the public sector, some of the salaries in the local authorities and the NHS are eye-watering. Huge pay packets are not restricted to the private sector.
  21. Puncheon wanted to go for personal family reasons.
  22. Local authorities are a poor example of financial responsibility. Just take a look at the salaries of the fat-cat executives and the staffing levels over the last twenty years or so and try to justify that.
  23. If we qualify it will be because of our performances over the why season irrespective of others.
  24. Something special? Let's be honest, deep in our hearts we all knew this was going to happen, didn't we?
  25. Indeed, you're quite right, it's just that the public sector has no concept of controlling costs. The rise of Lido and Aldi shows that prices can be reduced if competition is allowed. Rail privatisation is another issue though, I have understood how this was supposed to improve things. As now-gone MP David Price used to say 'How can you have competition when one train can't overtake another?'
