  1. Not good. Let's hope all turns out well for her.
  2. Correct, 15,000 minimum. I would imagine they would have to extend pretty quickly or play at a bigger stadium. Can you think of one?

There have been several serious injuries. This was one of the more serious: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2799893/indian-mirozam-premier-league-footballer-dies-spinal-injuries-somersault-goal-celebration.html
  4. I repeat: it wasn't a mistake, it was deliberate
  5. If you want a style guide I could always write one for you? For the record, I deliberately chose to write without a capital, so it wasn't a mistake in the usual sense, but whichever, no one really cares, do they? (I don't believe I did accuse people who use a capital E as 'slavish followers', I was merely speaking in general terms. Well, not exactly speaking, writing more like) (Also, whilst we're at it, I prefer to use single quotes (') when referring to written text rather that double quotation marks ("), but that's my style )
  6. 'Cause everybody like to watch Liverpool, don't they? I only watch it to see them lose

One of the papers said that it was because all his teammates had piled on top of him.
  8. Monday night before AFC Wimbledon vs Liverpool on BBC1.
  9. I seem to remover him getting one in an early European game. Maybe a header.
  10. Right or wrong when discussing grammar is not a matter of law, more style. Some people are trend setters, others slavish followers. The only criterion is that the intention be clear. IMHO, of course. I've been reading Oliver Kamm in The Times. He writes a column on Saturdays called 'The Pedant' which has led me to reconsider my views on grammar.
  11. Purely a matter of literary style, some have it, some don't.
  12. I don't capitalise the noun when referring to the language as a subject. You?
  13. Yes indeed. What would you suggest, a trilby perhaps?
  14. Good job you weren't marking english, eh?
  15. Some of us grandads remember games in the olden days when everybody played in black and white and there were crowds of 56,000 crammed into places like White Hart Lane. The atmosphere hasn't been the same since we went all-seater.
  16. These 3 are all good players, it's just that they're playing in a shît team.
  17. I thought the same. I got the papers this morning and went searching to a game to watch. Nothing, nada, nichts, niente... I might even have to talk to my wife
  18. Doesn't exactly represent the spirit of the FA Cup though, does it?
  19. Yes, I've noticed that too. If he could turn with the ball and drive forward he'd be even better.

Yes indeed, Mané's chance was well spotted and well taken. It's just that there are plenty of goals up there with it in terms of being special.

Theo Walcott's lob was quite special too.
  22. No chance of that. We'll be on 40 points by the end of January
  23. Some of them have a water container for the condensed water which need emptying after use. Some need a drain as Fowllyd has said. Your manual ought to tell you what to do.
  24. This is a very common complaint among the lower levels of football. The youngsters see the Rooneys of this world mouthing off on TV and think they can do the same.
  25. I had a customer ask me this very question a couple of years ago. After much searching I gave him a list but he ended up at Harry Ramsdens in West Quay. http://www.harryramsdens.co.uk/england/southampton/
