  1. We shall never know, of course. Hart doesn't make anything of it at the time. The guidance from FIFA is: “interfering with an opponent” means preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or movements or making a gesture or movement which, in the opinion of the referee, deceives or distracts an opponent. It must have been the referee's decision although why we needed to go to his assistant I don't know.
  2. I've met a lot of highly intelligent people who were extremely gullible. You could talk them into anything
  3. Gouffran got out of the way of the ball. If it had struck him then I would agree with you. In what way did his movement help the ball end up in the net? Hart wasn't distracted and had no chance of getting to the ball.
  4. Worth a letter from Newcastle, surely?
  5. Gouffran did neither, quite the opposite. To whom was Halsey referring?
  6. Not at all, not impeding an opponent nor gaining an advantage. According to the modern version of the law the goal should have stood.
  7. No, but intelligence is, together with the ability to use it wisely.
  8. He was right up there alongside J-Rod and was in a better position to have a shot across goal, but you can't blame J-Rod for trying himself.
  9. Of course he meant it, it was obvious from where I was sitting. But if you think he's rubbish then you wouldn't give him credit for anything.
  10. As I remember it wasn't it the assistant who flagged for the foul by Shaw? Webb then made a big thing out of it by running all the way across for a talking-to.
  11. Thought he was ok. I felt he started to lose control a bit around the two-thirds mark but we've certainly had a lot worse. A couple more yellows for WBA might have been fairer.
  12. It looked a straightforward challenge to me. I had a good view of it down to my right and Lovren blocked the ball which ricocheted between them and his follow-through caught Long. The assistant flagged for the foul and Webb thought it worth a yellow somehow.
  13. Good luck mate, my heart attack was a minor one but at least you had the right treatment on hand. See you back soon!
  14. I'm sitting here watching Pacific Rim in 3D with my son and four grandchildren. I can't follow the plot but that doesn't matter.
  15. 3 points Clean sheet thanks to Boruc 1-0 thanks to Gastón and Adam 2 minute cameo from Guly What's not to like?
  16. I agree.
  17. Not by me. He wasn't great but he was a solid pro.
  18. Well said SIP. There's been a deliberate campaign for some time to try to get pensions redefined as benefits.
  19. Penalty on JWP, innit.
  20. My daughter was mad keen on Saints and would still go if she didn't live 100 miles away with three small children. She used to come to all the away games with me as well. Happy days.
  21. Not real chocolate though, is it?
  22. Victoria and David Beckham named their son Brooklyn after the place where he was conceived. At least that's what my neighbour Back Of A Ford Cortina Johnson tells me.
  23. My son is 40 and my daughter is 37 and they have seven children between them. We are still bailing them out at all times of the day and night. That's what mums and dads are for. I came upon this quote some time ago and I still can't find who first said it: "By the time I realised that my dad was right I had a son telling me that I was wrong"
  24. That reminds me of the way to tell a biscuit from a cake. Cakes go hard when stale but biscuits go soft. Unless you cover them in chocolate.
