Indeed, but the situation now is that a number of players are receiving money as a result of their previous employment. Surely there must be a tax liability on these payments? If not, I can see an opportunity for avoiding tax in all sorts of situations where a company is not currently viable but is expecting to receive payments at some point in the future.

Not necessarily. You might just put your costs up so much that you are no longer commercially viable.

I had a Galaxy for my last update opportunity. It went back to the factory within a week because of problems with the power switch. My son has it now.

We were there for three nights in February last year, staying in the Shangri-La hotel in The Rocks area, great room with a view of the bridge and opera house. Just a though, perhaps someone can elaborate for me... What happens to the PAYE and NI payments for a players wages when they are delayed and spread over several years? Is the liability to HMRC down to the previous employer or to the new company?
