  1. I'm ambitious/greedy. Can't I have both?
  2. The cost of purchasing a player is only part of the budget. The wage structure is just as significant.
  3. That's another word for them. I once knew a girl with a great pair of Labradors.
  4. I shall play with my yo-yo. Yo.
  5. I remember talking to a bloke from Borussia Dortmund when on holiday several years ago and his season ticket was not much over a hundred quid.
  6. Exactly 5% for my two. More than inflation but they charge what the market will bear.
  7. That's true, I'm not interested.
  8. Interest free but £50 administration fee?
  9. Qualification for the Champions League is now seen as more important than actually winning a trophy.
  10. I see that the qualifying date for the age concession has been pushed back by a couple of months.
  11. As the archaeologists say, 'absence of evidence is not evidence of absence'.
  12. Do you also find that policeman are looking younger? If so... http://www.saga.co.uk (If you're also feeling tired there's a nap for that)
  13. Now you're getting to the essence of it. Are you sure it's the same consciousness? It's all an illusion. Our understanding of the world around us is merely a puny attempt by our conscious mind to see some pattern in it all, to make some meaning out of everything. The meaning of life is life itself. Without life nor all the seas nor all the stars in the firmament would ebb and flow and shine twinkle for nothing. My interpretation is that the stars and galaxies are there so that we may know that there is more than we can experience in our own parochial lives. As far as we know human beings are the only creature in this world that can look at the night sky and wonder. Whether you wish to credit God with all this is down to your own personal credo. Either way, it is there to be marvelled, to be experienced, to be investigated and explored. The rest is silence (Hamlet again).
  14. ANd yet, for us, it exists. It would indeed be a sad day if ever we did understand it completly, for then our lives would hold little meaning.
  15. It's all in Hamlet... 'There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.' ''There's a divinity that shapes our ends, rough-hew them how we will.'
  16. We also lost the home game against Chelsea, which was good for me.
  17. Yeah, right, that one and all the other thousands of decisons over the course of the season, for and against.
  18. Van Persie for Man Utd?
  19. I don't think that's correct. I don't come from either of those places.
  20. He's a great player. I look forward to seeing him when he kicks on next season now that he has had a bit of time to settle in.
  21. Indeed, but there's no point in a better playing style if players are going to fall over and concede goals because of it. It always seems to be our players that do this.
  22. I think it's more a question of being certain which division we're in, which may also have had a bearing on Cortese's situation.
  23. But I presume they don't have numbered seats there?
