I would imagine that is down to Andy Oldknow, who is the 'football man.'
-
But could he be one of the 4(?) and as part of the interview process, the club are showing the candidates around the facilities?
-
Area final is even better because "We're gonna Wembley! They're NOT!"
-
No debt free....And I believe it was more like £13million.
-
You didn't read his interview in the Swiss press yesterday then?
-
I agreed with Offix' original post but also agree with what you have written. Organic and prudent growth but where and when extra investment is required, it is available. Hr. Liebherr is on record that he wants to get us back into the Premier League and to do that he will need to speculate.
-
I don't think the club are mooting anybody's name. It's all press/fan/punter and bookie speculation.

Couldn't agree more. The QPR fans waving money at Chelsea springs to mind and it doesn't really seemed to have done them much good.

Bookies odds on next Southampton manager

I agree! The one style I want to see Saints play next season is "winning style". Last season's propaganda stuff really hacked me off with the excuses that we played good football etc etc etc. We kept losing FFS!! Ideally you want to win playing decent stuff but let's get the winning part right first and if it has to be direct, percentage football, so be it. -
No, the fans should not choose the manager but it has to be someone that the majority will feel comfortable with and can instantly get behind and support. If it is someone who is disliked or not trusted, then they are fighting a loosing battle from the start.

How is Darren Ferguson 4th favourite when he's just signed a new 4 year deal at Posh? -
Didn't see much of that last season. Kelvin did a great job (his own job) but I didn't see him inspire any of the others. Notwithstanding a GK shouldn't be the captain IMO, barking instructions is part of the job. They need to instruct, organise, encourage, criticise, damn-right boll*ck at times, cajole and praise, in addition to inspire by their own performance, enthusiasm and professionalism. This sort of player has been sadly lacking since Chris Marsden left and I believe there is no coincidence in our subsequent reverse of fortune.
-
I would disagree with both of those TBH. Kelvin is the quietest keeper, let alone captain, we have ever had and Wotton is a sulker and goes missing when things don't go right.

There were loads on Thursday/Friday but may be the mods could remove the word "pro" from the title and rename it the Tony Adams thread because I do agree, it does seem to endorse him.

That's what I thought. Canterbury are massive in the Southern Hemisphere and had a near monopoly on rugby kits (both codes) in NZ and Aus. Their first venture into English football and it seems to have gone tits up. Must be the Sacha affect!!

About 3 years by my reckoning.

He has to decipher Rupert's text message first.

Oh I DO hope so!!!!

Remind me.....Exactly how long was Keith Harris trying to find a buyer for the club?
-
I think you'll find that most of that loss was servicing the mortgage and debts we had accrued over the last 3 years. Now there is no mortgage and no debt. The wage bill has also come down substantially over the last 12 months, we will have a larger average crowd than last year, with renewed enthusiasm of the fan-base creating greater cash-flow and we have a rich owner that will subsidise spending as and when it is justified.
-
Tim, perhaps something could be sorted for the 125th anniversary? Presuming the club is going to mark it?
-
He was mentioned by Tony Husband, who normally has his finger on the pulse.

I wouldn't go that far. I think as an out and out manager he would be a disaster and definitely do not want him as 'the boss' but he did do a good job down the road as a number 2 to Redkrapp. Reading between the lines, it looks like we will have a continental style set up with a head coach and general manager/DoF. I could see Adams (HC) working under a Keegan or Strachan (GM) working, although he wouldn't be my first choice for that either, TBH.

Unforetunately, the ones doing the betting aren't the ones doing the hiring. It's obvious who the majority of the fans want and they're the ones having a bet. I think the South Today short-list story is more credible.
