  1. TBF, I didn't think Cooper was up to much as a scout either. I think the job of Chief Scout, just like CEO and Team Manager, should be put out into the market to get the best available person, with the most impressive track record. I do think there is a place for some people previously at the club, who can try and re-establish "the Spirit of Southampton" (Woggy perhaps) but with the main posts, it would be disastrous to fill them with sentimental blasts from the past.
  2. Links and Ties are 2 completely different things IMO. Ties are previous incumbents, whereas links, well......everybody including Uncle Tom Cobbley has been linked over the past 3 years with the club.
  3. In addition to getting the ST prices right (and matchday competitive for the division), we need other strategies to entice people in. Family packages 2 adults and 2 kids at a discounted rate; Use the Chapel/Itchen and Northam/Kingsland corners as non-reserved seating, making it £2/£3 cheaper than the reserved seating in the stands; Blocks of vouchers for 5-10 games, which are maybe 5 for the price of 4 and 10 for the price of 7, exchangeable for match tickets on an availability basis; A membership for say, £25 that gives the holder £1 to £1.50 off a match ticket price; Half season tickets. Saints have previously produced them for the 2nd half of the season but not for the first.
  4. Becoming Heart. It's pretty much Heart under another name now, anyway. You'll still get local news and local presenters in the morning and afternoon drive times but all the rest and the music is centralised.
  5. I don't really think there's another level for them to move on to. BTW Catalan players still make up the majority of their team.
  6. Why would they want 2 seats or is that one for each buttock?
  7. I don't like the one size fits all approach of football websites but at least if we're signing up for this, it's another sign that we will be around next season.
  8. No, it looks like a three leaf clover.
  9. Nothing from Fry on Solent News. Pinnacle not given up on become preferred bidder, despite Irish bid reports. Main story was P**pey takeover.
  10. Our youngsters managed the reverse of that in a couple of seasons, so why not be able to turn it around. As long as the new owners/board place more importance in appointing the right man as manager, than the last lot did.
  11. BBC reported at lunchtime that MLT/Pinnacle group were thought to be very close to making an offer.
  12. Gareth Taylor was on Soccer am some years ago and said he used to clean MLT's boots during his Dell days.
  13. Would obviously like to keep it but it surely isn't a deal breaker. However, using St Mary's apart from the odd training session, would be disastrous to the state of the pitch. We would have to do what P**p*y does and rent training facilities (Hardmoor from Solent Uni or part of the Sports Centre from SCC).
  14. You forgot to mention the damned good English grammar lesson.
  15. Mark Fry has an office there of course! Do keep up!!
  16. Anyone mentioned Jermaine Beckford?
  17. Guinness old boy, Guinness. If we are talking spelling and grammar, one thing sure to upset the Irish is the misspelling of Guinness.
  18. Unless he is Jeff Kenna and wanted to make sure he wasn't forgotten?
  19. Chris de Burgh!
  20. Mickey Evans.
  21. I think it's more entertaining than page after page of "It's all Lowe's/Wilde's/Crouch's/Lawrie's/Askham's (delete as necessary) fault!
  22. I would think so!
  23. Use a shamrock, that should be ok for both.
  24. So you have proof that these Irish guys are actually buying Reading?
