  1. I suspect Barclays, like the Club and the Administrators were not expecting the 10 point deduction, therefore making relegation inevitable.
  2. I don't think so, unless Morph has become a Skate.
  3. But maybe he's also related to Mark Fry!
  4. Not really. His job is to get the best deal possible for the creditors and will try and squeeze as much as he can out of the bidders. He will know what he can and cannot accept and I suspect that if neither of the bidders were able to match the lower limit, he wouldn't still be talking to them.
  5. Either that or one that scores more on the Scrabble board!
  6. Is Berlusconi buying us then?
  7. Coppell was there for the Burnley game, scouting for the playoffs. Didn't do him much good though!
  8. Also Hull City's and Wigan's.
  9. Seeing we're incapable of stringing more than 2 passes together on the current billiard table surface, I can't see that that will matter a jot! Maybe you're worried it will effect our only chance of silverware (Groundsman of the Year)?
  10. Tell you what, if Leicester have got the £20Million for that player, I say sell!!!
  11. We've heard most of it before, just that it depends on who has said it to what spin has been put on it. Now is the time to say enough is enough and draw a line under the whole sorry saga.
  12. That's about half a dozen threads, you've put his name forward. Are you his agent?
  13. I'd imagine there is some playing one bid against another by Fry to get a higher price. A bit like an estate agent saying they have offers in for that dream house, higher than yours and therefore inviting you to up your offer. Let's hope some of the small time players get gazumped by someone of substance!
  14. As tomorrow never comes, I'll go with Solent!
  15. I tend to agree with MLG. I certainly don't agree with the statement in bold because even if there is a party with money to burn, they are not just going to throw money at us to appease the creditors. They will know our worth and have an idea what would be acceptable to Fry, Barclays, Aviva et al and their bid will be similar to just about anybody elses, who goes through the process. Let's for argument's sake say there are 3 official bids on the table, different consortia with vastly differing amounts of funding behind them. I would be surprised if the individual bids were more than half a million between them.
  16. And what about the season just gone?
  17. It's not so much that Wotte played the diamond or Poortvliet played 4-5-1 (or 4-3-3, apparently) but it was the fact that they played these systems every minute of every match. A decent manager/coach has to be flexible, from game to game and even in periods of the same game. It's called a plan B, plan C or plan Z!! A rigid 4-4-2, would be just as bad IMO. I do prefer 4-4-2 as a basic formation but if it's not working, then it needs to be changed. So in answer to the question, I would not retain Wotte.
  18. The teams promoted to CCC in recent years have played some good football, Sc unthorpe and Southend we're good enough to stay up, the likes of Blackpool and Doncaster have been but all played pretty good football.
  19. Matt Jansen's on Soccer am, he's out of contract at the moment. May be HCDAJFU in League 1?
  20. Blimey, I reckon Adam Leitch is stalking NickG.
  21. Seems completely plausible with the right manager and a decent level of investment in the team. Throwing money at it in the first season would end in disaster but building with a five year plan is definitely the way to go.
  22. Probably got a boll*cking from Fry for being in breach of his NDA?
  23. It happened at AFCB (sort of). Originally when Jackson's/Sly's bid won, Jeff Mostyn had been announced the successful bidder, only for it to be recinded.
  24. They got funnier the more vino they consumed!
