The way to go, without any significant outside investment coming in, would be to remove the current board. Get in a completely independent CEO. A representative of the 3 major shareholders, but none of the actual individuals (i.e. Lowe's rep could be Cowen). A representative of the remanining shareholding and replace the incompetent Jones with a professional Financial Director, one that actually directs the finances of the club. Pie in the sky? Well may be but at least it might start healing some of the rifts apparent in all of SFC's stakeholders, fans, employees and shareholders alike.

It probably means that we didn't sit down and discuss the situation with the player/his agent/Chelsea and just took it for granted that the loan extension would be a formality. Watford obviously wanted the player and went out to sell themselves. That, the mess this club is in and the fact that and Watford's new manager and Cork know each other very well, made Cork's decision. All IMHO.
