  1. The rising level of violent crime in London has nothing to do with Sadiq Khan and Trump's visit, and everything to do with massive cuts to the police budget and officer numbers by the Tory government.
  2. That's my thinking too. He was left too exposed time and again by Lingard and Alli who aren't defensive minded players. If we're going to play with just one CDM then we need someone much, much better than Henderson ever has been or probably ever will be.
  3. A gutsy performance but ultimately we have too many weak links in our starting 11. Henderson has been around for years now and is never going to be a world class CM. Young was very poor. The creative players didn't show enough quality and we didn't deserve to go through.
  4. High boot surely? He kicked Walker in the head after getting to the ball FFS.
  5. Thoughts so far... Great hit from Tripper but Subasic should do better Kane should have scored Lovren looks like he might lose his head at some point Young has been very poor defensively None of the Croatia team can cope with Sterling's pace Overall comfortable but need a second goal
  6. Judging by some of the comments about him on here over the last two seasons, I would say it's a fair bet that it's not just you.
  7. If he could just learn to pass to a team-mate who is in a better position to score, it would drastically improve our chances. I was quite literally screaming at the TV on saturday when he looked up, saw Kane in space inside the box, and then tried to turn back outside and lost the ball. Such an infuriating player.
  8. France were incredibly well organised at the back tonight and gave Belgium very little in the way of chances despite their possession. When you consider the attacking talent Belgium have in Hazard and De Bruyne, and a finisher like Lukaku, snuffing out their threat is no mean feat. Add in the explosive pace of Mbappe on the break and they will be very hard to beat in the final, and would be worthy winners of the cup IMO.
  9. I expect he's having a holiday in a seaside BnB and complaining about the service!
  10. Subasic's positioning for Russians first goal was very poor. It was a good hit, and I'm not going to say that Pickford would definitely have saved it, but I reckon he would have at least made the effort to. To get beaten by a 25 yard shot that was a couple of feet inside the post without even moving is not good goalkeeping IMO.
  11. He was seriously struggling towards the end yesterday. Had to get an outfield player to take his goal kicks for him and really should have been subbed, but they obviously wanted him in goal for the shootout so they nursed him through it. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not fit to start on Wednesday.
  12. On the evidence so far, I don't think England have too much to fear from either of these teams in the semi. Our best chance of reaching the final in my lifetime I reckon.
  13. A lot of people talking up Belgium after yesterday's game, but were they really THAT good? Their first goal was a fluke OG, and as good as Lukaku's dribbling and De Bruyne's finish were for the second, it only came about because of some shocking defending by Brazil to leave so much space and a man over down their left. Likewise with the France v Uruguay game - one of their goals only happened because of some incompetent goalkeeping. The actual standard of attacking play has, overall, not been that great so far from anyone. For any team to progress it seems that what is needed is a bit of individual brilliance or a large slice of luck. And while England may not be the finished article, they are just as likely as anybody to get that.
  14. The sheer front of this guy in calling our win a "monumental theft", with seemingly no hint of irony whatsoever
  15. I knew there was a good reason why I have been avoiding this place recently
  16. I used to spend a lot of time on the road in my old job, and the thing that used to bug me most was the dozy f*ckwits who don't understand how to use motorway lanes properly. In my experience it is usually women over the age of 50 - the type that lean right forward and drive with their faces about a foot away from the windscreen. It's even worse now that a lot of the motorways have been upgraded to 4 lanes, because it just seems to confuse them even more. The amount of dinlows I see just bimbling along at 55-60 in lane 3 with no traffic in the inner lanes is ridiculous.
  17. Glad you asked... https://resistinghate.org/tommy-robinson-and-his-hate-tweets/ Are you still in any doubt that he is nothing but a violent, racist ar*ehole?
  18. I have no problem accepting that treating those of different faith as infidels is part of the scripture. I get that - it's the whole point of all the ancient religious texts. The Old Testament is no different: We're right - they're wrong, so go and kill them all knowing God is on your side. It's obviously ********, but it's not exclusive to Islam. Look at how many in Israel use this fictitious nonsense as justification to treat the Palestinians as sub-human - it's exactly the same mindset. It is also prevalent closer to home. Look in the comments section of any facebook/twitter posts by the likes of Britain First and you will see the blind hatred displayed openly by people who see other cultures as sub-human. Seriously - the kind of stuff that gets posted on those places is truly shocking - many people think it is perfectly OK to openly call for the mass slaughter/gassing etc... of immigrants and refugees. And whether you want to accept it or not, that is EXACTLY the kind of demographic that the likes of Robinson rely on and appeal to for support.
  19. So a group of c*nts commit an evil act, and claim that their holy book gave them the right to do it. So f*cking what? I could go out tomorrow and mow down a load of people in my car and claim that the flying spaghetti monster commanded me to do it - doesn't make it true. If you look hard enough in any holy book you will find sections which *could* be interpreted in such a way as to justify being a c*nt to other human beings. None of this has any relevance or connection to the vast majority of people who identify as Muslim. I could point to the actions of the guy who killed Jo Cox and the guy who drove into some people outside a mosque as 'evidence' that all middle-aged white men are racist w*nkers. But that would be blatantly absurd. Just as painting the entirety of Islam as being to blame for the actions of a very small minority of c*nts is equally absurd. This is my problem with Robinson, Golding etc... They don't just want to criticise the religion, they want to portray all brown people as evil. They are essentially hate preachers - no better than the likes of Whatsisname Choudry with their message of bigotry and intolerance.
  20. You're still going out of your way to paint him in the best light possible aren't you. What he does is not just criticise the Koran/Islam. It goes waaaaaay beyond that. Plenty of people are capable of criticising religions without attracting the kind of negative attention that Robinson does. People like Richard Dawkins, for instance, somehow manage to produce reasoned, coherent arguments against religious ideology without being accused of neo-nazism. I wonder why that is? What Robinson is trying to achieve is not simply criticising the religion. He wants the description of the word 'Muslim' to extend to cover everybody who has brown skin and has a middle-eastern sounding name. The problem is that, just as there are still large numbers of people in the UK who still identify as Christian despite never actually going to church, there is a significant proportion of people who identify as Muslim, but don't actually believe and never go to a mosque except for special occasions to appease the more devout members of their family. The vast majority of these people have absolutely nothing in common with the kind of extremists who might decide to blow themselves up for their cause. And neither do they identify or associate with people who think their 'religion' gives them the right to rape young girls. Those people are just c*nts - and every culture or ethnic group has its fair share of c*nts. The rest are just ordinary people like you and me, trying to make a living for themselves and a better life for their families. But Robinson and his ilk don't give a sh*t about that. All they are interested in is generating a feeling of hostility and intolerance towards all of them. They jump on any negative stories about people called Mohammed doing evil things as 'evidence' that all Muslims are bad people and should all be cast out of our society. The fear and reservation about Islam in Europe that you refer to is largely due to the kind of ignorance and intolerance that vocal bigots like Robinson continuously spout.
  21. WTF? Maybe in your eyes it doesn't, but in the eyes of the law it does. Do you not see the inherent hypocrisy in a man who shouts very loudly about immigration into his own country then trying to enter another country on a false passport? For someone who 'doesn't like the guy' you seem to be going to some pretty extreme lengths to stick up for him.
  22. He might have been one of the first people to start being vocal about grooming gangs, but let's not pretend he was some fearsome, independent investigator who managed to unearth evidence of such things long before anybody else had. That's just absurd. The only reason he even knew about it was because there had already been a number of high profile cases that he jumped on to use as 'evidence' that Muslims = evil. As for the 'convicted fraudster' thing, you seem to be willfully ignoring that the deposit case isn't the only item on his rap sheet. Are you forgetting that he committed passport fraud as well? Quite ironic seeing as he seems to have such a massive problem with immigrants breaking laws himself. And anyway, in my experience the line of attack most media use tends to be that he has previously been jailed for assault and football hooliganism, which is surely much more of a reflection of his true character. He may have tried his hardest to distance himself from the EDL over the years and try to make himself out to be in some way respectable. But he will always be the same hate-filled, bigoted moron he has always been. You can dress a pig in a suit but it will still be a pig, as the saying goes.
  23. Put their stadium plans on hold and Abramovich is not allowed back in the country at the moment. Doesn't bode well for them.
  24. Yeah, getting it through the Exodus add-on in Kodi. I'm not waiting 3 months to watch it on Netflix.
