  1. Another good chance there.
  2. Take the honours sir. Good tun and cross from Shaw but Lambert unable to put it away. Good run and cross from Clyne prior to that as well. Decent start.
  3. Indeed there is. It seems utterly senseless to me that we spend years and years preparing our kids for an event that they will never have to face again in real life outside of education. Not only that, we evaluate their ability to function in the workplace on their ability to prepare for and perform in such a unique and un-necessarily stressful situation.
  4. WTF!? There's something very suspicious about that.
  5. Welcome to the Anthropocene... [video=youtube;fvgG-pxlobk]
  6. Moving on from temperatures for the moment (global warming, whether caused by anthropogenic forcings or not, is after all only one small piece of the overall environmental puzzle), here are some other 'hockey stick' graphs that may be of interest to some of you... The undeniable fact is that mankind is responsible for massive environmental change/damage, and to continue on our current path is simply unsustainable.
  7. If you had asked me 4 years ago if I ever expected to be doing exams again I would have laughed at the suggestion, seeing as I am fast approaching 40 now. But in 2011 I decided to do a taster course with the Open University and I totally caught the bug. I'm now on a pathway to complete a part-time degree in environmental studies and in June I will sit my first level 2 exam. I'm pretty confident about it this time around. I was a nervous wreck before sitting a level 1 exam last year, as it was my first proper one since I took my GCSEs in 1991, but I breezed it in the end. My biggest problem is this bloody place. It's far too much of a distraction when I should be studying!
  8. You surprise me pap ;-)
  9. With the form Everton are in (7 consecutive league wins) and the fact that they are one of those teams we never seem to beat, I seriously doubt it.
  10. I wouldn't say it was a clear handball at all. Even watching it from different camera angles it was inconclusive. Certainly not as 'clear' as the ones at Stoke or Everton.
  11. Why do our players find it so difficult to cross the ball well. It's such a weakness in our play when we rely on using the full-backs in our attacks so much. It's pointless them even getting forward if they sre so utterly incapable of playing decent balls into the box. This is something that has needed addressing for some time now yet shows no sign of any improvement.
  12. Oh and yet another DNF for Ramirez. Although at least this time he didn't just walk off the pitch while the ball was in play. Lost patience with him now. Get rid and bring in someone who isn't going to miss more games than he plays through injury and actually wants to be here.
  13. F***ing ridiculous. Too many players out there today not putting in the effort for fear of getting injured. First half was like a training game but as soon as they got that goal the result was inevitable. I have loved watching Saints this season but f*** me they infuriate me sometimes. Losing J-Rod for the season is such a massive blow to us. Without him we just don't have any pace in the side and when teams sit deep like Cardiff did today our pedestrian attacking play is just far too predictable and easy to defend against. Oh and a message to MoPo... Monday morning get the lads down at Staplewood and work on their crossing FFS. Every single time we try and put the ball onto the head of a player in the box it gets cut out by the first man. It's not even funny any more.
  14. Sort of. What I mean is when was the last time we scored a headed goal from a decent cross? It's something that we just don't seem to have the ability to do. Our crosses are always slow, angled, floaty and straight to a defender's head.
  15. How did Lambert not bury that FFS!?
  16. Sheesh, our crossing is just terrible. Seriously, when was the last time we scored from a cross?
  17. Marshall MOTM for me so far.
  18. Oooh. Great chance for Gallagher and an outstanding save.
  19. Meh. This is just like the away games at Sunderland and Spurs. We looked completely in control and yet we gift them a goal and all of a sudden they have got their tails up and we look panicked at the back and clueless up front. Without J-Rod's ability to stretch defences with his direct running our attacking play is just so slow and one-dimensional. It's far too easy to defend against.
  20. Sicknote Ramirez comes off injured. How many times is that now this season? At least he didn't do his usual trick of just wandering off while the ball was in play.
  21. Sooooooo predictable.
  22. If we somehow manage to f**k this up and not take the 3 points today then it's possible I suppose.
  23. This is almost like a training game.
  24. The good news is that Newcastle are losing.
  25. HT. Totally dominant, against one of the poorest teams ever to visit SMS, yet can't find the breakthrough. Very frustrating.
