  1. As good as he often looks, it's worth pointing out that both of the last two goals we have conceded were due to him not tracking his runner and allowing them to shoot. I reckon we will be able to keep him this summer, because the length of his contract means we will be wanting more money for him than even the really big clubs would be willing to part with for him.
  2. I'm on the 11.30 Flybe from Manchester tomorrow. Staying a couple of nights with some mates who have booked an apartment for a long weekend and heading back on Saturday. I'm still finding it hard to believe really. This time 6 years ago we were in the bottom half of L1 having just lost to Huddersfield. Now we are heading to the bloody San Siro (a stadium I have long wanted to visit) to play Inter Milan, with an excellent chance of coming away with some points. Thank you Markus. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
  3. I only caught the second half. How bad was Targett's injury? Pretty routine win against a poor opposition on the face of it. Lovely finish from Redmond - he has been playing very well but with no end product lately. Hopefully this will give him a nice confidence boost. Happy with the points, but overall happier with the style of football that we are playing this season under Puel. It's much prettier than we ever really saw with Koeman. Not sure who the co-commentator was on the stream I was watching but he kept blabbering on about how harsh the penalty we got was on Burnley. WTF!? - Every angle on the replay showed a blatant trip on McQueen who tried to keep going. Looked a dead cert to me.
  4. Have the Inter tickets been posted out yet? Not received mine so far.

  6. I reckon Puel will have acknowledged that this would be a gruelling game with such a long trip and a hot stadium with a very hostile crowd. He put out a side with the intention of not getting beaten while saving as much energy as possible, and it worked. A point and a clean sheet away at such a place is really not a bad result at all.
  7. Pierre coming on. 15 mins too late IMO.
  8. Would have expected at least a couple of camera shots of the away fans though. None so far.
  9. Not heard a peep from our fans on my stream as yet.
  10. I bought one this morning and the most recent purchase history I have on my account is from 2013 (been using our company's corporate account since then). I spoke to somebody at the ticket office yesterday to confirm that this would make me eligible and it went through absolutely fine.
  11. Not sure how you work that one out. He had his arm tucked in to his chest and was turning away from the ball when it hit him from very close range. When you consider the rules these days say there has to be a deliberate movement of the arm/hand towards the ball, I reckon the ref got it absolutely right.
  12. Carving them open time and time again. Their defence is an utter shambles.
  13. Who was the player that was done for drink driving a couple of years ago?
  14. Who the hell is Claude Lundekvam!?
  15. Don't go on sale to members until 9am tomorrow, apparently.
  16. True. But in this case, Long quite obviously wasn't impeded trying to get to the ball. He knew he wasn't going to get to it so he tried to buy a penalty by falling over in front of the incoming slide instead. Ref got it absolutely right IMO.
  17. Nope. It was a clear dive and the ref got it spot on. Long got a very heavy first touch (imagine that!) and realised he wasn't going to get to it before it went out of play, and you can see on the replay he was quite blatantly off his feet and going to ground well before any contact was made. The disallowed goal though - that's another matter. Redmond was quite clearly onside watching the replay.
  18. FFS - That was onside. Bad call from the Lino.
  19. Inter 0-2 down now!
  20. He's having a very typical Shane Long performance really... Being a proper nuisance to the defenders, making intelligent runs and getting himself into really good attacking positions, then completely going to pieces when he has to actually do something with the ball.
  21. Inter losing!
  22. What's he done wrong then? Played a couple of delightful balls from set pieces so far.
  23. Seeing as we got knocked out in the qualifying round last year, technically he's right.
  24. I was wondering how much longer we would have to wait for the customary dodgy back pass from Yoshida.
  25. Matt Le Tiss?
