  1. This. We he has had a run in the team he has looked solid. How can everyone foucs on one goal so much, he got done by a quicker striker? He's made on error and its used to sterotype him. He is unproven in the NPC as are many of our players, he is very early twenties so why not give him a little bit of patience.
  2. Legitwood or Mills would be great. but former just signed permantely, maybe Mills would fancy another shot at Saints, won't happen though
  3. why not change the song to makes Pompey look ****e?
  4. A lot of the advertising around the pictch and ground now is anything to do with Saints e.g. the foundation. Personally I think this is sensible. other than the missed revenue elsewhere, its bascially free advertising space for all the clubs products and services, why not use it? plus the benefit of apeearing on tv. For the club to be strong the brand needs to be strong, just like United, soccer schools etc you name it, it all contributes.
  5. Graham Turner at Hereford or Shrewsbury perhaps
  6. I recenlty did a piece about Arsenal and the Financial Fair Play Rules. In the CL as stated it is taken over a three-year period. So they calcualte an avergae from that. But there is arguably a loop whole that can massively increase a club's revenue. For instance and example:# Man City could chairman could sell a corporate box to a close friend for a single match for £25m. It would come under revenue surely. And of course help balance the books. This at least is an example that I heard, how legal it is I don;t know, but concerns have been raised about ways around it.
  7. I am inclined to agree, but does it not smack of slight double standards with Barnard? Don't doubt that CMS is a good player but wonder if the money could be spent on alternative targets or perhaps a different position altogether.
  8. wish we would stop the CMS obsession, why we would spend £1m on a hardly proven striker in the NPC and he would cost considerable money, Norwich quoted at £3m, silly prices. Nugent, free transfer proven and a good age. Whilst I agree Nigent hasn;t been at the races for sometime this is for the purpose of comparison. Again, Marlon King, much rather than CMS.
  9. Reminded me, tentativley, of Frank Lampard, doesn't look blessed with natural abiltiy, but a lot of hard work could take him a long way. But then again, I haven't noticed him in a game yet. Would rather concentrate on giving Morgan a new and very lengthy contract.
  10. "Adam Lallana, he hates plastic fans"

  12. I tried phoning up to reserve tickets, and was told that it was collection only and i could not pre-book seats.
  13. This. The teams that come down could be very strong, 18 potential points from these games, obviously win or lose makes the difference, but these games could be very tough, quite simply were not at the level yet. This is not negativity but realism and not putting expectations at a silly level.
  14. Expectation is undoublty going through the roof. But I honestly would be happy with a bottom half finish, no risk of relegation and build a team for a promotion push the following year. We must remain patient, it would be unfair, unless we have suitable and/or substantial investment, to expect another promotion becuase the pressure on Adkins would be enormous.
  15. I would like to see the whole stadium rise, applaud and sing glory glory markus liebherr at some point in the game.
  16. Marlon King - free transfer, proven. Keeper, W******d, again free transfer.
  17. we have plenty of capable strikers, but what we need is someone who has been and done it in the championship, but is more reliable at staying fit than connolly, CMS would be an expensive addition. Also would like to see Holmes stay
  18. They have added well plus they were a better team than we are. I also think the standard of the Championship was slighlty poor this season compared to others. In addition it is a bit a lottery who comes down from the Prem, there could be three very strong additions from there to the league this season;. I would be happy with survival next season and consolidation. Both Pardew and Adkins have repeated that signings made in the past were for getting out of League One and being in the NPC, so wouldn't expect a great deal of transfer activity, with money being put into other areas of the club e.g. Training ground etc
  19. That turn in the box was top class, He certaily didn;t like the song. Pardew or Davis once described him as the most serious man they had ever met.
  20. If you haven't left yet, its going to rain... http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/13?&search=plymouth&itemsPerPage=10&region=uk
  21. i though Huw Jennings was at the Nike Academy?
  22. If you want a benchmark, this is probably it: http://www.spiritofshankly.com/
  23. Poyet's comments are pathetic. Do Brighton play good football? No question about it. But if the best way to beat Brighton on the day is by being direct and in the last ten mins then its going to happen. We played some great stuff when Adkins first arrived but now were grinding out results, and if it get us out of this division then thats fine. These comments make today's victory so much sweeter. I would rather play direct (when required) than wave fake cards and dive. See you in NPC next season, hope we hammer them at their place first game of the season.
  24. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/live_feed/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer_league_1_and_2/11/04/19/manual_151327.html&ID=&BID=4 Southampton defender Jose Fonte is keen for team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to remain at the club for another year. Oxlade-Chamberlain, 17, has attracted interest from Premier League clubs, and was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year alongside Fonte and three other Saints players. Fonte told the PFA: "Everyone knows he has great talent, but above all that he's a great kid. He wants to learn, he listens to you and he wants to do better for himself. He's only going to go up. "He already plays for a big club, but there's no doubt he's going to play for a very big club in the Champions League soon. I have no doubt about that, although one more year at Southampton would be good."
