I’m not worrying. It’s football, it’s Saints, it’s my experience over 45 years of supporting them and it’s down to knowing there are far more important things to worry about than whether someone decides to play for our club.

Could lose him? We will lose him. Wouldn’t be surprised if this season is the last for him at Saints. I think a mixture of domestic ambition, international ambition, his age and a reality from what’s happened with COVID will lead to him leaving. If he does nobody could blame him and we’d all do the same if we were in his position.

I think Spurs will fall short this season, Kane will go and Ings will replace him. Unfortunately it’s the natural pecking order of football. If it’s done in the right way then who can blame him? We’d all look to improve our career opportunities for more money and the chance of being more successful wouldn’t we? I appreciate some won’t agree with that sentiment - let’s hope DI is one of those!!

Fantastic story, I love hearing things like that. Not wanting to steal your thread but at Euro 96 I was a guest at the England v Netherlands media match which was before the main event at Wembley. Afterwards in the hospitality area I got talking to an old chap about football. He was incredibly engaging and knowledgeable - I suppose we chatted for about 20 minutes. It was only afterwards that I learned I’d been talking to Stanley Matthews.

I remember reading the mini player biography in Shoot/Match years ago when they covered Nick Holmes. When asked his likes/dislikes he said ‘fans who automatically expect autographs’!! Now I’ve never met NH but I’ve always read and heard nothing but positive stories about him but as an impressionable boy this left it’s mark!! On another note I recall often seeing Ken Monkou when he lived in Lightwater. A really nice guy and always had time for a chat.

Just watched Dominic Raab on TV. He mentioned no football. So if it’s no football it’s no football which will make it very difficult for teams to train and prepare etc. Just waiting now for everything to unravel as it it surely will. Football is not coming back anytime soon

A few weeks ago I did a deal with a dealer for a 12 month old petrol 3 series M Sport Touring - I put a deposit down. It’s specked with professional nav, extended storage, extended lighting, enhanced Bluetooth, a panoramic roof and an electric tow bar. It appeared pretty good value at around £23K for what was a £40K motor last year. Time it appears like a good deal for a highly specked car. Due the virus I’m waiting to take delivery am wondering if prices may come down further. Also does anyone have any idea what sort of economy I’ll get on mixed driving - I do around 12,000 miles a year.
